Outfits for Two Days Training : WDYT?

Hi Ladies,

I have two days training for my new job this week in Melbourne.

I don't have to wear Motto, we have been told to dress as we please but I want to incorporate some of their items into my outfits.

#1 Is my definite choice for the first day.  The outfit is Motto Skirt, Metalicus top and Motto Belt and Kmart ($20.00 and oh so comfortable) platform wedge sandals.

For the second day I have put together the following.  My presumption is Day 2 we will be a little more relaxed (there will be three of us in training) and can be a little more casual.

#2 Motto Crop pant and Metalicus top (same as the black in #1)

#3  Motto Crop pant and Suzanne Grey Metallic Sweater

#4 Motto Crop pant and Motto Jersey Cha Cha top belted.

#5 Motto Crop pant and Metalicus Wrap vest belted.  This one is a bit of a wildcard I think but I quite liked it worn this way.

Note these photos are not styled, nor am I wearing make up.

I have room in my case to take 2 or even 3 tops and decide on the morning.    I think what I am hoping to communicate is that I love style, can put an outfit together and can be creative and not simply style like the catalogue pics.

I would really appreciate your advice:)  I am trying not to over think this and don't want to spend hours planning and packing for a one night stay :)

Thanks so much

WIW : As close to Boho as I go!

Hi Ladies,

A day off today and I enjoyed a lovely lunch with a dear friend.

I had considered purging this kimono-esque jacket.  For Aussie girls, it's from Millers, cost me a whole $8.00 and quality is 'ok', but I really like it:)
There is something about the Kimono looks that says Boho to me but I don't think I have a boho bone in my body lol.

Popped it on over skinny black pants and a draped sleeveless top and was ready to go.  Added silver hoop earrings, silver rings and a black and silver two strand long necklace.

I was inspired by the pic in #3, but her jacket is oh so much nicer :)

Jacket : Millers
Pants : Katies
Top : Katies
Shoes : Rubi

Thanks for looking.  Any suggestions, thought for improvement.  Is the jacket ok or should it infact go??

WIW : Shop Girl Style ;)

Hi Ladies,

As some of you know, skirted leggings were such a HEWI for me and now that I have a pair I will apologise in advance for wearing them all the time and for posting what will probably be way too many outfits featuring them :)

Today for work @ Motto :)

Skirted Leggings : Motto
Jersey Cha Cha Top : Motto
Open Toe Boots : Rubi
Silver Cuff :  Cannot remember
Silver drop earrings : Secret Santa from Karie xx

Very simple black on black outfit, the neckline of the top is kind of cool and made me think of the HL bra top, I don't  think it needs any further embellishment at the neck?  Hard to see but the top has an asymmetric hemline which follows the asymmetric line of the skirt.

I am actually feeling a little sensitive to all black the moment and have been wearing a lot of white with my black, not sure what it's all about??

Thanks for looking.  Your thoughts, suggestions etc all much appreciated.

WIW : Summer Culottes

Ingunn asked about culottes and if they have staying power in her recent post, which reminded me that I need to be wearing mine more because i really to enjoy wearing them.

These ones were actually wide leg regular length pants which I had stopped wearing, so last year I had my dressmaker shorten them for me. They are drapey and swishy and I love the fabric and how they move when I move :)

I don't however always find it easy to put the right top with them.  Usually I go for a hi low hemmed topper, but today I felt like a little volume on volume so wore a long tunic.

Side Split Tunic : Metalicus
Cullottes : Suzanne Grae
Shoes : Isabella

I felt good, but do wonder about the proportions.  What do you think, is the tunic too much or does it work to your eye?

Thanks for looking:)

WIW : Summer arrives early!

Hi Ladies,

As is the way here, we tend to bypass Spring and Summer arrives before it's supposed to lol

Very busy weekend so I kept Master 12 home today and we did some errands and are about to sit down and watch Jurassic World.

This is what I wore this morning:

Jersey Crop "Lauren" Pants - Motto
Ink Jersey tunic - Target 'Limited Editions'
Sandals - London Rebel

I am not a crop pants girls so this is new for me:) I liked the combination of the length and the fabric, it seems to work.  I often pefer a slim pant leg to to legging so I expect to wear these under tunics and shorter dresses too. And because they are pants drapey tops will work fine ove them too.  I am looking forward to styling them with a heel too.

Thanks for looking.  How's the length look to you?

Colour & Pattern

Hi Ladies,

I posted this dress as a potential item in my small work capsule  (for my Motto job) to mixed responses.  I was also skeptical but found myself very attracted to the pattern, so I tried it today and I did buy it.

There is no question that this type of pattern adds a little to my frame and is not as slimming as a darker solid BUT I really liked it?!?  It's a poly/spandex and the fabric is a lovely weight and skims the body.  I think it probably looks better IRL with movement than in a still pic.

It can be worn as a dress alone, or also looks quite good with a cropped legging (it was too warm to try it when I got home)

Still playing with footwear but I realised very quickly today that flats are the go given I am on my feet for so long so I just popped these sandals on to try.  For non work wear, my open toe booties, or block heel sandals will be great.

So what do you think?  It is primarily for work, where I am meant to be showcasing the clothing but I think I might end up wearing more than just to work.

I am wondering tho if I might have lost the plot.  Does it work to your eye?

Thanks
xxx Deborah

WIW : Day One @ Motto

Hi Ladies,

Today was my first shift at Motto.  It was a trial shift and part way through the manager called me into the office and offered me regular shifts:)  So I said YES :)

I had the BEST day.  Loved interacting with the customers and helping them put together beautiful outfits.  I made quite a few sales over the four hours and picked up the point of sale program very easily.

After my shift, knowing I had regular work coming, I did buy a few pieces and now have a little capsule for starters, which I will share as I wear them.

So today I wore:

Lace Bell Top - Motto
Skirted Leggings - Motto
Sandals - Rubi

Master 12 liked the top and said it looked like a snow blizzard!!

Thanks for looking.

WIW : Enjoying Blue

Hi Ladies,

Another blue dress:)  This one is from Witchery and it was extremely hi low in the hemline so I decided to have the back shortened so it was still longer but before it was almost hitting my ankle.

The fabric is quite luxurious.  Someone asked me today if it was silk, but it's a very nice poly and has a satin type finish.

Kept accessories to a minimum and felt black footwear was too heavy so went something more nude.

Thanks for taking a look.  I have been up and down about this dress, loving it one minute and being uncertain of it the next.

WIW : COS Blue Dress

Hi Ladies,

Change of silhouette for me but I liked it!

As Anne said in her post today, Spring seems to have come and gone in 60 seconds and we are now experiencing summer temps:)

I wore this on Friday during the day to get the final bits and pieces done (and have a lovey lunch with a friend) for the fundraiser event I was working on.

As you know I rarely belt anything but it just seemed right here.  It was such a cute little cotton summer dress that I couldn't resist.  It fills a bit of a wardrobe hole of cool dresses for those very hot days when you don't really want to wear anything;)  I think it could go to work as well if I change out the shoes.

I actually wore the sandals in my finds below as what I had on in the pic just wasn't quite right.

Thanks for looking.  Love to know your thoughts as this is a little different for me.
