WIW : To Show Off New Boots:)

Happy Weekend to all!

A couple of weeks ago I posted a pair of boots I had ordered. They arrived, and there was no question I was keeping them. For those interested they are Nine West American Vintage range and I did get them on deep sale. The ankle is wide but I do have a lot of tolerance for the flower pot effect, but I feared they were too flower pottish but I was determined they were not going back:). I can't decide If they have more of a cowboy, or spaceman feel!

So first outing today, I wore them with an all black outfit (suprise). Leggings tucked into knee high black socks which I then scrunched down to the ankle to fill the gap. I'm happy with the look but maybe I am just seeing what I want to:).

There are two outfit variations here. You will see I changed toppers, purely because I decided I like the proportions with my sweater more. And I tried the boots with leggings tucked and then untucked...I was concerned the height of the boot shaft (?) might have been shortening. Anyway went with leggings tucked and oversized sweater.

#1 is with the long sleeve drape tee
#2 & 3 close up of the boots
#4 is with the sweater
#5 was more about photographing my hair!! (You're the only ones who understand lol)
#6 because this post is so monochromatic...bonus shot of my kitchen bench!

DH caught me Instagram-ing my boots while we were out today. Can I tell you there was quite a bit of eye rolling haha.

These will be for non work wear (I think). Most of my wardrobe tends to go to work and play but I don't mind having the odd thing that is work or weekend only.

Trying a new photo spot in the kitchen of all places. There is a window opposite the pantry door (which I'm standing against) so thought it was worth a try. As you can see I love black clothing, but I love white decor:)

Thanks for looking.and if you have other suggestions for styling the boots, I would love to hear them.

WIW : Asymmetric

Hi Ladies,

This is a new skirt that I came across "by accident" ;). It has a raw and asymmetric hem .. And simply had to come home with me.

This is an attempt at combining my style preferences with touches of structure (jacket) and classic (blouse) for a more formal work day.

Does it work?

Thanks for looking and your thoughts much appreciated.

WIW : Fun with a Beanie

Hi Fabbers,

One of the many things I am enjoying about having shorter hair is that I can wear beanies!! Can't explain why but I really like the slouchy beanie look. It's.certwinly practical for our winter, and great for bad hair days:)

Picture taken at the end of the day so lighting not great. You have seen everything but the beanie and jacket. I bought the beanie last year from a men's store and the jacket last week. It's similar in style to a couple I have but is longer. It's a great jacket for work without compromising my style preferences.

Been messing around taking some hair shots too so I think #3 is my new profile pic:). I'm really happy with the cut from my new hairdresser.

Hope everyone's week is going well.

WIW : Clothes Shopping with Master 11

Hi Fab Ones,

We had some errands to do this morning (Saturday) and Master 11 has grown out of almost all of his winter clothing so we needed to get a few things for him.

I am Team Wear, so I wanted to build an outfit around my new ankle boots.
So black jeggings and cream tunic with black asymmetric top layered over it. I really liked this. #1 is my Totokaelo model pose lol. They always stand a certain way and have a particular look, it's kind of cool but funny.

Also felt like something different on my nails so am wearing Rimmel Lively Lilac.

Master 11 was hilarious clothes shopping. I thought girls could be difficult! We did have some success and came home with two long sleeve tees (both with skull details), red jeans and a multi coloured mambo hoodie.

Hope you are having a great weekend and any thoughts or suggestions for improvement on this outfit are much appreciated. Thanks for looking.

Can I Break The Order Return Cycle?

Hi Ladies,

I find myself not needing much for winter. My wardrobe is in good shape and I am happy:) I would however like to add just a couple of new goodies as refreshers but so far the tall boots, the Asos dress and the Melalitcus skirt have all gone back.

Possibly the only serious wish on my wish list has been grey or metallic ankle boots. I have had my eye on these for a while. They went on sale and I kept 'umming and ahhing" and then they took another 30% off... what's a girl to do? I kept asking myself, but will you wear them????

Well..... then browsing on line as you do, I spotted the Rick Owens outfit featuring a metallic boot in #3 and that pretty much sealed the deal.

These are Nine West and are a pewter. Perhaps not as bright as silver but they look great (I have seen them IRL).

So hopefully these will be keepers... will keep you posted.

WIW: Moody

Happy Tuesday!

Today's offering for a morning running a volunteer meeting.

Black asymmetric hem dress, leggings and ankle boots, topped with a moody abstract black, white and grey moto style jacket. For May it is quite a warm day and my jacket did come off in the office. One wonders if Winter is really on its way:)

Thanks for look of and your comments and suggestions always appreciated.

WIW: Layer Upon Layer

Happy Thursday!

I'm a bit layer happy today!

Started with the leggings, popped on the booties, added the crossover asymmetric skirt, then the sleeveless draped top and finally the draped jersey cardigan.

I love this and feel great, it's a very comfy outfit.

I saw my sister on the weekend and shopped HER closet lol. She has had a major closet purge and I came home with some goodies including the drape cardi here and the necklace I'm wearing. She has been on a serious wardrobe development path and like all of us, there have been some mistakes along the way, some of which are perfect pieces for me ... Thank you DS(ister). Bags under my eyes are care of DH who woke me up soooo many times last night as he suffers through a bout of flu (waving at Carter)

I will have more goodies to share soon.

Thanks for looking and feel free to share thoughts and suggestions.
