WIW: On A Sunny Saturday

Hi Fabbers!

A quick post and run. Grocery shopping calls, along with some housework and gift shopping for a 40th we are going to tonight.

Easy and comfy outfit. Not my best silhouette but the ease and comfort make up for it,

Tshirt dress, leggings, sandals and drop pearl earrings.

Added grey cardigan as it's sunny but not that warm:(

I cropped photo show how Master 10 set himself up this morning:). Lying on a mat, playing his iPad AND watching a movie on the TV...apparently he is "chilling".

Thanks for looking.

WIW: Cobalt & Black

Hi Fabbers,

Stuck in the office all day trying to catch up on admin in preparation for the Christmas holidays which are closing in fast.

Black Straight Leg Pants, cobalt blouse and black shooties. For fun and interest added my black and white zebra belt.

How does this work?

And for this of you who recall last week I was having trouble focussing my camera...well I remembered to pop on my glasses, and then forgot to take them off. I expect early next year I will be seeking advice on new frames. These are ok but not great. Most glasses are too big and I am needing to wear them more frequently when working so I need a really fab pair!

Thanks for looking.

WIW: Casual FFBO

Hi Fabbers,

I am so grateful for my FFBO's.  I had a few days of not feeling great last week and over the weekend, but I had an AGM to attend on Saturday morning for our local community radio station (I am a board member), so I had to get up AND get dressed :)

Our station is a Christian/Community station and we are regional.  It was established many years ago and over the past three years our new board has worked hard to make it much more contemporary and modern which does sometimes feel like a loosing battle :)  Our membership at this point are a predominately older and are a very conservative group of people, so even though I didn't give my outfit a huge amount of thought, I did purposely dress a little "not conservative" as I like to challenge (gently) stereotypes in this group - the point being that we can reach out to a broader listener base.

So I wore my older, more worn skinny black jeans, a slightly oversized black top, black booties and my cream and black skull scarf (thinking of Hil).

I know this is nothing special, but I loved this.  I wore it all day and felt great, despite not actually feeling great lol.

And I'm feeling good now :)  Seems I may have pulled or strained a muscle that then caused a great deal of pain in my chest/breast area.  Doc checked it out and things are almost back to normal.  I have however booked in for my very first mamogram/breast screen!!

Now I'm off to see if I can work out how to style one of my kimono jackets for the office:)

Your thoughts, suggestions etc always much appreciated and thanks for taking the time to look and read.

WIW : AKA More Draping;)

Hi Ladies,

Wore this to church today. Our weather is slowly warming up and today has been been lovely. I quite like that this 'looks' like a dress but it's a top and skirt in the same fabric. The only new item here is my cobalt sandals.

Looking at the pics, I see I should have worn my shapewear undies!!

Accessories simple, silver rings, silver bar necklace and very small square silver stud earrings.

I have had two recent revelations about my summer dressing! I quite like a longer skirt in summer with bare legs whereas a longer skirt in winter tends to look too much/too heavy on me. And despite my growing issues with my upper arms, I still prefer the look of sleeveless in summer as opposed to short sleeves :)

Your thoughts and/or suggestions for improvement of this outfit are much valued.

Hope you are all having a lovely weekend.

WIW : My Usual:)

Hi Fab Ones,

Happy Friday!

I don't work Fridays and had nothing booked but to do grocery shopping with DH (he likes for us to do this together) and then we had lunch out and then I had as little browse at our shopping complex. The pants I wanted were sold out on my size so have to wait for them to restock and nothing else called my name so I came home empty handed;)

I am feeling very comfortable with how my wardrobe is evolving. My work wardrobe (3 days a week) is more structured in which I try to include one draped or arty element, and my non work wardrobe is more like today, less structure and lots of drape and layering. Accessories are mostly silver, modern and simple and work well across work and non work outfits as do my handbags. And the good thing is that two separate wardrobes are not required as my staples work across both work and on work worlds.

Today's outfit is my old skinny black jeans, cross over draped sleeveless top, long tail cardigan and peep toe booties.

Thanks for looking and your thoughts and suggestions much appreciated.

WIW: 6 Hours Travel & Work Meeting

Hi Fabbers,

3 hours both way to attend a 2.5 hour meeting. Early departure and just got home, so a quick post and run but will be back after din re to catch up the day's YLF activities:)

I have been wanting to show you this long vest for ages. The very kind Archer sent it to me along with a gorgeous Paul Smith shirt:).

These pants have become part of my work meeting "uniform", sorry if you are sick of them;). The blouse is a fave but I don't wear it often and the shoes are vintage, square toe not pointy but I love the long toe. I don't often do volume on volume but I really enjoyed wearing this combo and I think the proportions work..if not please let me know:)

I am not being arty with my poses, I'm just exhausted and it shows in my face:). My ears are a bit better but still not back to normal.

Off to prepare dinner, back soon.

Thanks for looking and suggestions for improvement etc always appreciated.

WIW : Black and Blue

Hi Fabbers

Back from our short break and not feeling great, off to the docs later today as I think I may have an ear infection (or something), I have such a low tolerance for not feeling well:(

We had the coldest November day in decades yesterday and today is not that much better. I have added some great pieces to my wardrobe for Spring/Summer and am very disappointed than I haven't had the chance to wear any of them yet, so today regardless of the weather, I am breaking out my new blue Esprit jacket. I wasn't planning on a jacket purchase the day I found this, but I loved it instantly and pairing it with slouchy pants seemed a no brainer. I love 3/4 sleeves and it is slouchy and comfortable to wear. It's a linen blend but feels like a microfibre?

Jacket: Esprit
Top: Big W
Pants : Katies (winter weight)
Shoes : Target
Necklace : made by me:)

Thanks for looking and have a fab day.

WIW: It's Complex

Happy Weekend Everyone, (I am loathe to say "ladies" as I note we have quite a few men here now) :)

I am now on holiday from work and enjoying a relaxed weekend before we go away for the week (yay).  Today we visited a friend's Garage Sale that is a fundraiser for a village they support in Fiji and then went for lunch and did a bit of shopping.

I think I do have a RATE side and this would be it.   I suspect it's not everyone's cup of tea but that is ok :)  Earl Grey anyone?

Further to alaskagirl's post yesterday, which was a very interesting read:

http://youlookfab.com/welookfa.....eeds-shift

today's outfit reminded me that my work and play outfits while they may share some elements, can be quite different and I guess both are still quite authentically me.

Outfit details are:

Black Skinny Jeans, bagging out a bit - old
Complex Geometries top - can be worn many ways
Target Sandals - old

Thanks for looking and your comments always very much appreciated.
