WIW: MC Gig #1

Hi Ladies,

It has been the most fun couple of weeks being involved in our annual Fashion Festival meeting and working with some lovely people.

This outfit is what I wore on Saturday to MC a Make Over Competition in the Mall. DH took some photos of me "in action" so to speak, and I was pleased with how this outfit worked.

We had 6 nominees who received makeovers from local retailers and they looked fantastic. The winner was a gorgeous 42 year old mum of 3 who over the past 4 years has worked so hard to lose 25 kg and Increase her fitness. Another nominee was a beautiful 74 year old woman who has worked in East Timor who totally rocked a pair of cobalt skinny jeans!

I have to say I don't know how Angie does it! With all the meetings and events I have attended for this, I felt "obligated" to be on top of my style game at all times! It was a little "taxing":)

Mind you I am so grateful for what I have learnt here at YLF and for the wardrobe I have been working on over the past year. Prior to YLF, being involved in something like this would have turned me into a basket case over my wardrobe and what I was going to wear. The outfit I had planned for Saturday wasn't working and I was able to switch out to this one (with not much time to spare) with little to no stress.

I'm not suggesting this is a perfect outfit, and it highlighted the extra kilos that winter left behind, (lol) but I can look at these pictures and feel ok about the choice I made:)

Thanks for looking:)

WIW: Wide Leg Pants & White On White AKA Angie Made Me Do It

Hi Ladies,

One of my consistent style goals is figure flattery, but every now and again I don't mind breaking my own rules in order to simply wear something I like, and experience a change of silhouette.

I adored Angie's post with her wide leg trousers, so as Spring is now officially here, I got out my Spring/Summer weight wide legs and am giving them a spin today. These are not the same ones I posted over winter (I have summer weight and then a slightly heavier weight that works most seasons).

I also don't often wear white, particularly on my top half, as I am busty and short and I feel it makes me look bigger, but again today I am feeling a bit rebellious. So again inspired by Angie's love of white and her encouragement of me to wear more of it, I am giving it a whirl.

So the outfit consists of black wide leg trousers, white satin sleeveless blouse, white slightly fitted blazer, black and grey leopard wedges and statement necklace.

I bought this necklace about 3 years ago and have NEVER worn it. I didn't feel to pass it on as I kind of knew one day I would work out how best to wear it and I really felt the silver on the white works (please let me know if I am disallusioned here).

Im wearing this at work today and later in the day I am doing a little styling job for my friend with the accessories store so I wanted to look well put together.

Any thoughts/suggestions, as always very welcome... Im a sponge :)

Have a fantastic day.

WIW: Spring... Where Are You?

Hi Ladies,

Well Spring is here! Temperatures are warming up but still overcast and rainy.

But felt the need for some color so took my new blue skirt to work. I have a series of external meetings and also a training session and wanted to keep the outfit streamlined and simple.

To add interest I wore my new black and grey animal print wedges and my fitted leather jacket instead of a suit jacket:). And pearls thrown in for good measure;)

Hope it worked:)

Thanks for looking.

WIW : Monday & Tuesday / Bed Dressing

Hi Ladies

I had a go on the weekend at "bed dressing" and put these two outfits together. It was fun but (for me) runs the risk of additional pressure in the morning if it doesn't work in reality:)

#1 was Tuesday. I spoke in the morning to a women's group at church. My wide leg pants and blazer is a bit of a formula for me for these types of events. I was happy with how this came together.

#2 was Monday at work. I really like the high low top / pencil skirt and am exploring what pieces I have and if they will work together. This looked great on the bed but I wasn't 100% happy. I think this top works better over a skinny pant. Hence ...

#3 was that same evening where I changed into my skinnies, booties and added a snood to attend a meeting.

Thanks for looking. Thoughts and suggestions always much appreciated.

WIW : Fathers' Day Inspired by Angie's Client Karen :)

Happy Sunday Ladies:)

Well, Spring has Sprung here in Aus and I was so inspired by Karen's outfits recently that I have been waiting for the weather to warm up here to give this one a try.

The skirt is a new purchase for Spring. The black button down has been in my wardrobe for about 18 months but doesn't get a lot of wear as I am not a frequent button down wearer but I do like them. The belt is a stretchy one with a bow feature.
I am also wearing my little silver bird necklace with a red dop bead just in the open neckline.

#1 is a bit blurry so added #5 for your viewing pleasure. Lol
#2 is a mirror photo as I forgot to take a proper photo with my denim jacket (which I didn't really need to day).
#3 a bad picture of the belt bow.

I wore this to church this morning followed by a Father's Day bbq (@ church) and I received so many lovely compliments, I was really suprised.

What do you think? Any suggestions, tweaking etc welcome.

Thanks for looking
