WIW Winter Layers

Hi Ladies,

Started the morning trying to put together an outfit based on Angie's boyfriend jeans post last night...but it just didn't work so I layered an symmetrical top over a patterned tunic. I was feeling a bit bored with the tunic and wanted to mix up the look a bit.

Does it work?

Thanks for looking. Hope you have a lovely weekend.

WIW: Dinner With DH & DS

Hi Girls,

End of Term today and Master 9 came home with a very good term report. So we thought that was a good reason to go and have dinner at one of our favourite local eateries:)

It's is icy cold here tonight so my main priority was warmth, so I wore a black sweater dress with a long sleeve striped top layered underneath, opaque tights, boots and then a coat and wool scarf to get there and back!

This dress tends to accentuate my apple tummy, but it's comfortable and warm (did I mention it's cold here) :).

Thought I would share one of my "out takes" - #2 - Master 9 loves sabotaging my pics!
Any saboteurs in your home?

Thanks for looking and enjoy your weekend.

WIW: Another Baby Shower!

Hi Girls,

This is a slight rework of an outfit from a week ago. Ankle Boots instead of long boots and I have surrendered the waist this time. Fabric belt tied loosely at the back.

#3 shows some baby shower treats:)

Thanks for looking.
Happy Friday!

WIW: To Make A Presentation

Hi Ladies,

I'm presenting to a community group (similar to Rotary) today so I have gone for what is hopefully a professional but approachable look.

How does this work for you?

#3 is bonus pick of the boots I ordered last night... The saga continues. Expect them to arrive mid next week. Fingers crossed:)

Thanks for looking.

WIW: Animal & Orange

Hi Gorgeous Girls!

Today's outfit is my fave black Ponte shift dress, worn with animal print blouse, leggings, animal print flats and orange bag:)

Threw on black tench and animal print scarf for trip into work but didn't get photo:(

#2 is WIW Saturday to do some running around.

And #3 is bonus shot of Master 9 dressed as Robin Hood for dress up day at school today.
Forgive the indulgence, but he specifically asked if I could post his pic on the forum for the "stylish" ladies!

Critiques, advice etc always appreciated.

What I Bought! B44 Skirt

... well the Aussie version!

Hope you are all having a lovely weekend:)

Found this today when I was returning something else. It's black and cream, fits like a glove and I just love the layering on this skirt. The dress just didn't work for me but I think this is ok?

My styling attempts are basic (its 5pm Sunday and I should be getting organised for the week), but I do think keeping it simple lets the skirt "shine".

Tried two different booties and high low top and also a longer knit jacket.

Do I keep this?

And any styling suggestions welcome:)

Thanks

WIW Pony Dress

Hi Lovely Ladies,

Still battling this bug! Spent the last two days in bed (thank you so much for keeping me company) and I really missed getting dressed on those days!!

Back at work today but still not 100%.

It's "Seattle" weather here today, raining, cold and overcast - so Seattle i hope you are having a sunny day:) So to cheer me up I'm wearing a shirt dress I bought about a month ago - first outing.

It's navy with red and pink horses on it. I removed the fabric belt and added a slim red belt. Worn over Ponte leggings and boots. Added my faux leather jacket for the drive into work.

How does this work. I'm always a bit wary of slim belts but I felt this worked ok. And for some fun pattern mixing I added my red and white polka dot earrings ... just because I can!

Thanks for looking and as always your suggestions, thoughts etc are much appreciated.

Have a great day!

Black & White Houndstooth Shift Dress

Hi Ladies,

Hope you are enjoying the start to the week.

I have to start by saying how much I love houndstooth and particularly older garments in this pattern. I am also aware that this pattern can be a bit much for petite me... but I found this dress in my fave vintage store. It appears to be hand/home made as it has no labels. It is wool and really beautifully made.

The shoulders straps are too long so I will need to have them taken up a bit by my dressmaker.

However what I am trying to decide is do I have the skirt tapered, or do I leave it as an A line??

I rarley wear Aline skirts as I am concerned that they look frumpy on me. But I think this looks kind of fun.? What do you think??

I have popped one of my striped tops underneath as this is most likely how I envisage wearing the dress. I like the idea of my red stiped top with it also. Alternatively I have a couple of polka dot blouses that could be good also. And I am seeing a crop jacket over it as well.

When I was younger I wore a more alternate and quirky style and I would like to revisit that in a way that looks good but is still appropriate for my age and I think that's why this dress appealed to .

Would really appreciate your feedback.

Debombshelling a Pencil Skirt & Birthday Shoes

Happy Monday from Australia!

Still struggling with this yucky cold but soldiering on and am at work (for a while anyway).

Wearing my faux leather skirt which you have seen before with a new animal print blouse and my new red shoes :)

These shoes are incredibly comfortable. They are suede and patent leather and I spent a whole week assessing if there was a place in my closet for them and guess what... there is:) And for the Aussie girls they are from Novo and they are called "Valley".

The bag is also new. I have a lovely friend who has just opened an accessories boutique and I couldn't go visit without making a purchase!! One has to support their friends *wink*.

The coat is old. It's Chelsea Design and while I don't really like camel close to my face, I hope the red makes it work.

Any feedback, suggestions for styling, etc always much appreciated.

xxx Deborah

p.s. Its really hard taking photos of your shoes when they are on your feet!!
