WIW: Animal & Orange

Hi Gorgeous Girls!

Today's outfit is my fave black Ponte shift dress, worn with animal print blouse, leggings, animal print flats and orange bag:)

Threw on black tench and animal print scarf for trip into work but didn't get photo:(

#2 is WIW Saturday to do some running around.

And #3 is bonus shot of Master 9 dressed as Robin Hood for dress up day at school today.
Forgive the indulgence, but he specifically asked if I could post his pic on the forum for the "stylish" ladies!

Critiques, advice etc always appreciated.

xxx Deborah

You tell Master 9 he makes a FABULOUS Robin Hood! and I love the bookending with his bow and the feather in his cap!

You look equally fantastic Deborah - I especially love your casual look in #2. It's got a slight boho vibe to it that's very appealing.

Both looks are lovely Deborah! I am especially fond of #2, the long topper with the tall boots has that fab dose of drama I think of with your outfits. Master 9 looks cute in his green and brown with accents of red ^^

I love your bag Deborah, it looks almost red on my monitor. Those are some very stylish outfits and I especially love animal print and navy dots so you can't go wrong with those blouses in my book. Master 9 looks dashing and handsome in his costume. Did you make any of it for him? The hat is quite rakish! Love!

Thanks Shannon, Master 9 will be very happy to get the thumbs up. Despite being 9, he still LOVES dresssing up!

And I forgot to mention that he actually partially designed today's outfit for me!!! It was very important to him that I mention this :)

Both are great! And lol @ "the stylish ladies" XD what a cutie!

  • replied 12 years ago

Well he did a great job helping you design today's outfit! DD15 just saw his picture and said, "Oh, he is so cute!" Upon hearing that you live in Australia, she remarked, "They breed good men in Australia!" If he were a bit older, you'd have to lock him up, lol!

Aida thanks, I liked #2 and that long knit cardigan is newish and is getting quite a bit of wear... I like long jackets. However I thought it might be a bit 'sloppy' looking so I am glad it passes your style fiilter because it's a great piece for weekends.

Claire, I think they are my two favourite blouses at the moment!! I could wear the navy polka dots every day:) Master 9's costume is made up of green pants and top which are part of a Ninja Turtle costume, the brown vest I did make, but all I did was use the scissors to cut it into the length and shape. The belt is mine :) and I bought the hat yesterday. The brown vest was orginally a long robe that he wore as part of a Noah costume :)

Claire just read your second comment. Master 9, like his Dad, has quite a good eye:)
I agree they do breed good men here :) I have already told Master 9 that I will be choosing his wife, and that I expect to be 'beating" the girls off of him when he's 16. He thinks that's very funny now, but I bet he doesn't when he is 16!!

Love both these outfits - nice to see someone else wearing dark wintery colors around here right now. :) What a fab costume! My son is planning to be Donald Duck and I am dreading having to sew that costume.

  • jen replied 12 years ago

How gorgeous is that little Robin Hood! :)

  • Katiepea replied 12 years ago

    Hi Deborah

Fabulous outfits! Your son makes a very dashing Robin Hood. :-)

  • Transcona Shannon replied 12 years ago

Tell Master9 that my son used to think girls were annoying and make groaning sounds whenever I mentioned anything slightly romantic - now at 16, the girls phone regularly and come by the house to see if he's home and suddenly, it's not so annoying anymore!

  • Jaime replied 12 years ago

I love both of your outfits - I really like the blouse in #2 especially. Master 9 looks perfect as Robin Hood and handsome to boot.

  • Angie replied 12 years ago

Love both outfits! Dramatic yet controlled - that's how I see your style :)

    Smashing Mr. Hood!

  • Kari replied 12 years ago

Your Robin Hood is a cutie! I love his hat.

I'm now humming the song from Robin Hood: Men in Tights...

Deborah, you have the best blouse collection!

  • Jem replied 12 years ago

Both are great outfits Deborah! I especially love #2. Master 9 looks smashing in his costume! :-)

  • Debbie replied 12 years ago

Love both outfits and Master 9 is a cutie!

  • Deborah replied 12 years ago

Thanks all for the lovely comments. Master 9 will feel very special when I report back to him after school :)

Angie, hmm wonder if that's the "control freak" part of my personality coming out in how I dress??

Nicole, Master 9 knows a stylish woman when he sees one... he is well trained :)

Una, I would be tempted to see if I could buy the Donald Duck constume. Good luck with the sewing:)

Jen and Katiepea, thank you and KP I have missed you!

    Shevia, thank you:)

Kari, I wonder if my blouses and your dresses would play well? I have gone a little crazy over soft flowly blouses this season. For the past couple of years I have worn mostly 'tops' as opposed to blouses and I had forgotten just how lovely they can be.

Jem and Debbie, thank you. Master 9 is certainly going to be overwhelmed by your compliments:) Debbie I think he is cute too, but I am biased, he an awesome little boy.

Hi Deborah, I was going to suggest your red scarf (the bag looks red from here) for pic#1 then noticed that you did wear an animal print when you left the house- perfect!
Your 'running around' outfit is way more stylish than my Yoga pant and zip jacket for sure!
I am glad that I am past the stage of costume making with my girls (and I think they are too) but your DS looks adorable in his.

  • sarah replied 12 years ago

Robin Hood is cracking me up, Deborah! Your outfits look great - so cool and chic.

  • Beth Ann replied 12 years ago

Beautiful outfits! #1 is my favorite. I love the layering of the blouse under the sheath.

As for Mr. Hood. The pops of color are amazing. Please counsel him to wear this for ceremonial purposes or competitions only. When hiding out from Sheriff Nottingham, it would be best to stick with earth tones, or shall I say forest tones!

  • Vicki replied 12 years ago

Robin Hood, I mean, Master 9 is the cutest one in the entire forest and he nailed his outfit! Great details with the bow and hat!

M9's mother looks refined and elegant in both outfits and I really want to try this layered look with my Bellatrix blouse when I get it. The polka dot blouse looks so good with the dark elements in outfit 2.

  • Kiwichik replied 12 years ago

Love outfit number one is the blouse a recent purchase? If so where did you get it? Fab running around outfit and big thumbs up for Robin Hood.

  • Meredith1953 replied 12 years ago

Master 9 really knows how to "strike a pose". So incredibly cute! Oh....and of COURSE you look uber fab in your outfits as you always do!
