WIW: To Make A Presentation

Hi Ladies,

I'm presenting to a community group (similar to Rotary) today so I have gone for what is hopefully a professional but approachable look.

How does this work for you?

#3 is bonus pick of the boots I ordered last night... The saga continues. Expect them to arrive mid next week. Fingers crossed:)

Thanks for looking.

xxx Deborah

Deborah, you are so beautiful and look professional, approachable and stylish at the same time. That's a lovely blouse and I love the shoes peeking out with their color. I think you may have some winning boots here. They look perfect. Now, let's hope they fit and you like them when you see in IRL. ;)

Deborah, I think you nailed it. I LOVE that blouse! The soft colors make you seem warm but still professional. Wishing you well today! And good luck on the boots.

You nailed it! Polished, professional but approachable. And the newly ordered boots look uber fab!

I love the pattern of your blouse! I hope your talk goes well!

this is great outfit, polished, proffessional and classy. You can't go wrong with it:)

Deborah you look lovely and professional - perfect for an interview. On a side note, I just thrifted a jacket sort of similar to this - grey with wide lapels and sort of similar shoulders. I was wondering whether to keep (yes I need to post these things) but this is certainly pushing me toward yes.

Lovely and professional. Hope these boots work for you--the color is perfect with your hair!

'Ditto' Deborah. I love the blouse (details?) and I hope your presentation went well.

Thanks Ladies, just back from the presentation and it was very successful:)

Shevia I would love to see your jacket. Mine is Table Eight. I thrifted it brand new with tags on for $15.00. It retails at $295.00 :) I was pretty happy:)

Lyn the blouse is from that very "exclusive" store Target lol. I bought it about a month ago. I had seen it and loved it when it first arrived in store and then (because I am a bit of a budget shopper) stalked it until it was reduced to $20.00. I cant wear alot of yellow near my face and this has the little bit of yellow running through the pattern and I thought it would work great with my yellow loafers. Target have had some lovely blouses this season. Great fabrics and nicely made.

Beautiful! I'd wear this entire outfit in a heartbeat. Love the shoes especially. The jacket is beautiful but the blouse and pants on their own are just superb as well.

ETA: fingers crossed on the boots! (these look lovely!!!)

You look fab--I'm glad that your presentation went well!

Deborah, you look so pretty. I love it when you wear those unexpected yellow shoes! And good luck with the boot search. I know that can be so trying.

Very sharp, Deborah. I'm glad the presentation went well!

    Those boots look scrumptious!

  • goldenpig replied 12 years ago

I really love the pic in #1! You look so polished and professional and I love the yellow shoes. Glad the presentation went well.

I hope you don't think I'm a party pooper though if I point out that the print placement on the blouse is a little...interesting....especially when viewed from afar. May want to keep your jacket on for those presentations! Sorry but I'm sensitive about those things since I love prints but didn't realize initially that one of the DVF wrap dresses I tried on was giving me a faux nipple. But if it doesn't bother you, forget I said anything! It's a lovely blouse and outfit!

Good luck with the boots--they look fab!

Oh Natalie, I am laughing so much I can hardly type! Your comment just popped up on my phone and I had to jump onto my desktop to look at the picture again! The pattern bits are sitting right on my 'boobies"!!! (thats what my 9 year old calls them).

For the record, I have had my jacket on all day. One of the reasons I prefer it with the jacket is to hide my tummy... but now I have another reason ... still giggling. Must ask DH if he noticed lol. And you are not a party pooper, friends always tell the truth xx

  • goldenpig replied 12 years ago

Oh whew Deborah! I'm glad you can laugh about it! It's especially funny because of the little target thing going on in the middle right where the nipples would be. Friends don't let friends wear fake boobies! ;) (Can you reverse the blouse at all?)

  • Kiwichik replied 12 years ago

Haha just read the boobies comment. Despite the unfortunate pattern placement I think you look just right or a presentation.

  • Deborah replied 12 years ago

Natalie, I'm not too worried about the pattern placement as it will be worn under a jacket for work and untucked over jeans, but with the now and movement I think it won't be so noticeable... Here's hoping anyway. Still chuckling and looking forward to DH getting home as I suspect he will find it very amusing.

  • Sharon replied 12 years ago

It's a lovely blouse. I have to admit I didn't even notice the boobie pattern until it was pointed out, but now i can see it I still think it looks fine- maybe a bit "Xena"? So glad you bought those yellow loafers. They are just smashing with the shirt.

  • Janet replied 12 years ago

What a great outfit for a presentation! I had to do a double take because that blouse looks a lot like one I got at Nordstrom last year (although I wear mine untied and partially tucked to dress it down with jeans). Love the yellow shoes with it!

  • Suz replied 12 years ago

Gorgeous outfit. Glad the presentation went well, and hope the boots do, too.

I am laughing about the pattern placement issue. I didn't notice it before GP mentioned it but of course now I can see nothing else!

  • Angie replied 12 years ago
