WIB : Your Thoughts

Hi Ladies,

Had a little shop today!!

#1- #4 is a metallic knit top.  Nice square boxy shape with fluidity.
Made me think of some of the EF tops I have seen.  This is a keeper, unless you see something I don't :)  Not styled btw :) Just wanted to show you.

#5 - #9 is where I need some validation lol!!  I have been keen on adding a long cardigan for winter.  They are everywhere but very few are quite what I want (too thin, too thick, too shaggy etc).   Don't be shocked but I actually didn't want black as I already have a few long draped style cardigans and I wanted something almost coat like.  Not styled here but I did add a scarf as I imagine that is really how I will wear it.  I would also be more inclined to wearing a heeled boot for some height.

Master 12 was with me when I bought it and said it was awful:(  He is often right in his assessments but I thought it was worth bringing home to try and to see what you all think.  If it helps, it would be a casual piece, and is SOOOOO warm and comfy.. but if i have ventured into frumpsville please tell me... it can be returned.

Thanks so much
xxx Deborah

What I Chose! Part 2!

Hi Ladies,

I have shown you how the first garment turned out that you helped me choose some time back in this post!

http://youlookfab.com/welookfa.....-me-choose

And this is the second thing I chose. It's a drape short coat and is a wool blend.  Nice and warm and comfortable. I think it will be great for my work commute over my winter work pants outfits:)  It can be worn open, tied, or with the collar adjusted into a funnel style:)

A belated thank you for helping me with this.  Hope I 'did good';)

WIW : Anzac Day Service

Hi Ladies,

It is Anzac Day tomorrow and the school conducted a very moving service this morning in remembrance.  Master 12 did a reading and I was very proud.  He did an awesome job.

It's not a work day, and I had a hair appointment, so I wanted smart but casual.

Skinny Jeans/Jeggings : Target
Jersey Tunic : Valley Girl
Draped Jacket : Metalicus
Boots : Hush Puppies
Layered necklace : Millers

I had let my hair get quite long at the back and decided I really didn't like it:)  I am now feeling much fresher with the back shorter, some texturising and less bulk:) Not totally clear on where I am going with it, but I think it will be what I have seen referred to as a pixie bob lol.  I think that might be hair speak for short bob :)

Thanks for looking.

WIW : My Work Look...

...Looks like my regular day look lol:)

Having spent two weeks in my new job, I have assessed that there is no dress code, other than looking presentable.  Some of the girls wear very casual outfits, jeans, striped tee and ankle boots, some have no interest in clothes.. so it's a mixed bunch.

I have been wearing mostly pants, loose / drape top and blazer but now that I know that my general style is fine for this job, I couldn't resist falling back into skinny legs, boots and black layers;)  And I received very nice compliments on how I looked today from two "gentlemen" I encountered at lunch.

I think next time though I will put the belt back on the jacket that came with it.  It is a little wider (not too much) and leather and just ties like this one.. I swapped it out for a fabric one but I think a little more definition might be good.  I don't do belts often so hopefully I don't look too much like a sausage;)

This jacket reminded of something Rick Owens did a little while back:)  #4

Tie Jacket - Target
Asymmetric Tunic - Metalicus
Leggings - Target
Ankle Boots - Serra
Earrings - Secret Santa Gift from Karie

#2 is to show you the lovely earrings from Karie, and the sheerness of the jacket, and #3 is over exposed so you can see the gather and detail of the jacket.

Thanks for looking, do you think this worked ok?

WIW : Urban Cowgirl does Coffee

As I said in my previous post, this wrap reminds me of Clint Eastwood in his Spaghetti Western phase :)  My first wear of this wrap, out for a coffee with a friend, and I have paired it with straight leg jeans, black top and boots.

I don't feel my styling juices were really flowing today.  DH left yesterday for a week long conference interstate and Master 12 and Dexie (our dog) decided they should sleep in my room in DH's absence!!  Didnt' sleep so well :)

I felt fine in this but I know I can do better:).  And it's warm!  But I think my next rendition will be ... black leggings, ankle boots, simple black tunic, wrap and a black infinity scarf:)

Thanks for looking

PS... found #2 on Pinterest.  Apparently Top Shop are doing this wrap also.

WIW : Minimal

Happy Weekend Fabbers,

I have been wanting to try this combo for a while and today it wasn't too cold for bare ankles yet was cool enough for a blazer and scarf.

I think my look is generally quite minimal, layers but not too much fuss and monochromatic but I really like this kind of pared back look for work, so I trialed it at church this morning.

The real challenge for me is wearing flats.  I always prefer how I look (in my mind taller and leaner) in heels, but I love these shoes and I am determined to have them regular rotation.

Boyfriend Jacket : Target
Sleeveless V neck top : Suzanne Grae
Slim Pants : Katies
Laceless Oxfords : Wittner

What do you think?  Does it work for me?  Can I get away with wearing a flat heel and not look too dumpy:) ?

Thanks for your thoughts.

WIW : Joggers

 Hi Ladies,

Now that I am only in an office two days a week, I felt I would like to add a couple of things to my wardrobe for days working at home (still running the community meal and have a couple of other projects on the go) that are comfortable and warm and can be easily spruced up with jacket/coat, scarf, footwear etc to do errands and/or school pickup on those days.

So, I bought these 'joggers' or 'sweat pants' yesterday.  I know acid wash can be divisive on the forum but I liked these immediately.  So they are sweats that are meant to look like an acid wash jean.  I am now keen to buy one or two more pairs, maybe in a black and dark wash blue denim look.  Even if I don't leave the house, I have plenty of sweaters and tops that will work and be comfortable for home but still make me feel 'put together'.  I also have my leather look slip on sneaks for really casual look.

Thought I would try them out this morning as I have some errands (a skirt to return).

Thanks for looking, what do you think?

WIB: Spaghetti Western!!

Hi Ladies,

Something I have been wanting to add to my Autumn/Winter wardrobe is one of those 'blanket wraps'  And there is a chance I may actually add more than one (don't tell anyone lol).

Please note this is not styled.  Just popped it on when I got home:)

I was particularly inspired by the pic in #5.  I know I don't have her height, model looks or colouring... BUT...sometimes it's fun to take a little step away from your 'usual'.

You may need to sit down as this is the first thing in a long time that is not all black!  It does has some black in it tho:)  I am not sure how well the colours are coming up but it has black, navy, redish brown, taupe and a green.  I think it is very Clint Eastwood from his Spaghetti Western period and I am not big on brown tones but I actually really love it.    I also prefer the blanket stitch as opposed to the fringes that are on a lot of ponchos and wraps this season.

What do you think?  Have I lost my mind??  Of course I will wear it with black:)

Thanks for looking.

WIW : Day One

Hi Ladies,

Forgive me for posting and running.  First day in new job and the morning got off to a 'challenging' start.

Woken with a call to say my MIL was being taken to emergency with a blood nose that the nurses at the Aged Care home could not stop.  Looked at clock and thought I had slept through the alarm and had 1/2 hour to get ready for work!!  Turns out that's the only clock in the house that has not been 'turned back' after day light savings finished. Phew. So plenty of time to get ready.  DH is off to the hospital to meet his mum.  We don't think it's too serious but more to do with a change in her medications.  Please keep her in your thoughts today if you can :)

So quick pic of my first day outfit.   I specifically decided I wasn't stressing (as I usually do) over today's outfit.  So made a very quick decision this morning and that's it :)  Hope it's ok :)

It's a bit of an office fall back outfit for me.

Slouchy black pants : Sportsgirls
Silky Tee :  Target
Soft Moto : Portmans
Sandals : Rubi

Have a great day all and will check in on the days happening on YLF tonight.

WIW : In Preparation

Hi Ladies,

My last day of holidays today, and school returns for Term Two tomorrow.

My sense about the new job (that I commence tomorrow) is that my wardrobe for those days will need to be a little more on the classic side, so today I made the most of an all black number that won't be going to the office :)

Cashmere Tunic : Metalicus
Leggings : Cannot recall
Infinity Scarf : From my girlfriend's boutique
Combat boots : Rivers

The scarf is a lovely soft almost gauzy knit and can be worn a couple of different ways.

Thanks for looking.  Hope everyone has a great week.
