WIW : Day One

Hi Ladies,

Forgive me for posting and running.  First day in new job and the morning got off to a 'challenging' start.

Woken with a call to say my MIL was being taken to emergency with a blood nose that the nurses at the Aged Care home could not stop.  Looked at clock and thought I had slept through the alarm and had 1/2 hour to get ready for work!!  Turns out that's the only clock in the house that has not been 'turned back' after day light savings finished. Phew. So plenty of time to get ready.  DH is off to the hospital to meet his mum.  We don't think it's too serious but more to do with a change in her medications.  Please keep her in your thoughts today if you can :)

So quick pic of my first day outfit.   I specifically decided I wasn't stressing (as I usually do) over today's outfit.  So made a very quick decision this morning and that's it :)  Hope it's ok :)

It's a bit of an office fall back outfit for me.

Slouchy black pants : Sportsgirls
Silky Tee :  Target
Soft Moto : Portmans
Sandals : Rubi

Have a great day all and will check in on the days happening on YLF tonight.

xxx Deborah

Great first day look. It must be that sort of day, I had a call from the retirement village to say my Dad had been sent off to hospital by ambulance because he couldn't stop vomiting. Hopefully nothing to serious.

  • CocoLion replied 9 years ago

I'm stealing this FFBO... I love it!  Especially the addition of the blue top.  I would have reached for white, blue is so much more unexpected.

Hoping for the best for MIL, and that it's not something major.

I hope your MIL is ok, and you survive your first day without further incident :)

Thank you all so much!  A long day and I am exhausted but thrilled with the new job.  They have a lovely culture and attitude and I feel at home already.

My MIL is fine and back home:)  The problem was quickly resolved and we have just had a lovely catch up over the phone and she sounds great.

On the fashion front, I can wear what I like:)  So no need as I had thought to modify my dress style.

Glad to hear MIL is back at home.  What a way to start your first day!  But you looked amazing!  Great outfit.  Love the blue on you.

Hi Deborah, is your new workplace dress-code more casual than the last?
I love this jacket on you for a change from the black :)
Glad your MIL is OK now- my Mum was in hospital for 2 months recently- hence my quieter participation on YLF.
