WIW : Inspired by Shannon

Happy Weekend!

I just loved Shannon's outfit today:
http://youlookfab.com/welookfa.....mplicity-1

So much so that I needed to do my own version of it:)  In fact I was so inspired I jumped out of the bed to pull it together and forgot to tell Shannon how awesome she looks.. woops!

It's Saturday here and had some shopping to do with Master 12 in preparation for his return to school for Term 2 and then a visit to MIL.

Rolling jeans is a bit of a new thing for me and I have shifted from not liking it at all to loving it.  I think the footwear makes or breaks the rolled jean IMHO.  I am thrilled that jeans fit me again:)  I love the leg line and the wash and it's great to get them back into rotation.  The tunic is from Metalicus and the sandals from Rubi.

Autumn is great weather for covering either arms or legs and then leaving the other bare.  And it's not too cool so summer footwear that has some coverage seems to work well.

Thanks for looking, and Shannon thanks for the inspiration:)

PS.  Thought I would confess that one of the reasons I haven't been as frequent on the forum is that I am totally immersed in House of Cards.  We just got Netflix and I am addicted to this series.  To be honest, the language and sexual content would normally put me off, but it's just so compelling and the characters are so interesting.  I am only on Series 1, episode 11 (I think) and I have decided Francis is definitely a psychopath lol.  I believe this series has been huge in the US??

New Glasses Arrived

Hi Fabbers,

After a multitude of posts on frames some of you will know that I decided to order my glasses / frames on line and I am very happy with the end result.

Thanks so much to Karie, in partcular, who faces similar challenges and gave me some very useful information/advice.

I knew I wanted this shape as it really does seem to be the most flattering for me.  I managed to find these Derek Cardigan Frames on line in the smallest size available.  Placed my order with my prescription and they are perfect.  I am wearing them now as I type.  I must confess to being a little nervous about ordering glasses on line (what if they muck up the prescription etc etc.) but I will definitely being going back to this company for my next pair - quality and customer service is fab.

I do realise they look a little oversized but having compared them to all the others I tried (took pics of them all) I think this is a good fit for this style of frame.  A feature of the cats eye does seem to be that slight oversized/dramatic element.

Anyway, despite the fact that I am happy with them.  I am still keen to know if I got it right?  I have only been wearing glasses for about 5 years and this is my fifth pair (in the past I have bought two sets at a time) and I know none of those frames have been really right for me.   I feel like I might now be developing a better understanding of size and shape for me??

What say you wise women?  I am bracing myself for my sister's "Dame Edna" comments lol

WIW : Old Fave

Hi Ladies,

Enjoying my week off:)  Met up with my now former colleagues for a farewell lunch before I start my new job.  We are now experiencing consistent Autumn weather with much cooler temps.. finally:)

This sweater as been in regular Autumn/Winter rotation for three years! Thinking about the sweater I expected that I might be ready to move it on but I was surprised at how happy I was when I put it on today (first time this year).  Just as well because I also have it in grey:)

BTW, loving the Challenge outfits!  I haven't had a chance to comment much but looking forward to catching up with them all.

What I Chose & Thank You!

Hi Ladies,

A little while back in this post http://youlookfab.com/welookfa.....-me-choose you very kindly help me choose two garments for a little 'job' I was asked to do for a local fashion brand.

Well I chose the wrap coat and the leather blazer and I thought I would show you some photos of the blazer.  I really like the blazer and can see myself wearing this quite a lot over the cool months.  Photos of the coat still to come.

Thanks again for your help with this.

WIW : Lunch @ The Lake

It's a beautiful Autumn day here today and some friends from Melbourne drove up for lunch.  We went to a lovely restaurant on Lake Weeroona (#2) and then went for a walk so Master 12 could see the ducks and turtles that make the lake their home:)

Angie's "Drapey Black with Leggings" ensemble is a bit of a FFB for me and that's just what I felt like today.  I do like the drama of this ensemble.

So today's version is made up of:

Black Jeggings : Target
Mana Draped Tunic : Metalicus
Sleeveless Wrap Vest worn open : Metalicus
Open Toe Booties : Rubi
Accessorised with silver rings, choker and black leather bracelet.

Thanks for looking, and any thoughts for improvement or change appreciated.

WIW : A White Dress!

This is a very loose interpretation of Angie's Black, White and Light Blue ensemble:)  I didn't think of it until after I had worn it.

It's Good Friday here and we have been to church where my DH did a wonderful job putting together a very heartfelt and meaningful service.  Home now preparing lunch for the three of us.

I bought this dress about a month ago.  It's a bit of a departure for me but I really felt it still fit my style persona.  The dress/tunic is a simple, tencel  sleeveless shirt dress with a slight A Line skirt.  I had actually had something like this on my wish list for some time and had passed up a few that were close but not quite right. This one is by Mesop. (Mesop Free Ride Dress availble in Chambray also - see #5 - I think it sold out in white)  Mesop is another Australian label (a little similar in aesthetic to Metalicus) that I love, but this is the first thing I have bought from them.

I knew I wanted to wear it with black and have been scanning blogs and Pinterest for ideas on how to wear a white dress with black:)  Then a couple of weeks ago I bought this black sweater and viola, i was pretty sure they would work together.  So gave it a whirl this morning.  Added my otk boots and I know you are wondering were the blue is right??  My necklace is silver with blue see #4.

I would love to know if you think this works.  I did try it with shorter boots but I really like the black on the legs coming all the way to the dress.  This felt fantastic to wear and I do envisage repeating this.

Thanks for looking and commenting.

And remember... not too much chocolate this weekend;)

WIW : Last Day @ Work

Hi Ladies,

Today was my last day in my current job!  Spent most of the day handing over to my Team Leader who is new to his job, tidying and making sure there are no loose ends AND got to pop out and collect a new pair of shoes that had arrived at the post office.. all in all, a pretty good day!!

I wore:

Black Ponte Pants : Sierra
Abstract Patterned top : Liz Jordan
Drape Jacket : Metalicus
Open Toe Boots : Rubi

Felt good!  I love this top!  It is very similar to the gorgeous Danier one that Elizabeth P and Shannon have (one of which is winging it's way to me as I type - I know... two similar tops... but what could I do!?! I have room for both).

The shoes fit and look so good.  Very happy with my purchase.  I think they are going to be a great addition to my wardrobe.  They are "Tokyo" by Wittner if anyone is interested :)

Thanks for looking!  And for those who celebrate, I wish you a very happy Easter.
