Debombshelling a Pencil Skirt & Birthday Shoes

Happy Monday from Australia!

Still struggling with this yucky cold but soldiering on and am at work (for a while anyway).

Wearing my faux leather skirt which you have seen before with a new animal print blouse and my new red shoes :)

These shoes are incredibly comfortable. They are suede and patent leather and I spent a whole week assessing if there was a place in my closet for them and guess what... there is:) And for the Aussie girls they are from Novo and they are called "Valley".

The bag is also new. I have a lovely friend who has just opened an accessories boutique and I couldn't go visit without making a purchase!! One has to support their friends *wink*.

The coat is old. It's Chelsea Design and while I don't really like camel close to my face, I hope the red makes it work.

Any feedback, suggestions for styling, etc always much appreciated.

xxx Deborah

p.s. Its really hard taking photos of your shoes when they are on your feet!!

Those shoes are gorgeous. I am glad you decided to let them move into the closet. I also love the white and black bag. Very graphic and it plays well with the red shoes.

Celia and Dianthus, thank you! This is the first outing for the shoes and I am so happy with them. The comfort factor, the way they look etc. I think these are going to become a bit of a 'work horse', as I see them working with so many things. They also mean my red Shoes of Prey pumps can be kept for special occasions as they really are too high for day to day use.

Those shoes are fabulous and of course, will work brilliantly with your black, white and navy items. Great new handbag too Deborah. I like the animal print with the leather skirt and it does completely de-bombshell in the best way!

Deborah, I think that those are the happiest shoes on the planet! You look terrific, as always. I love the silhouette and the mix of textures. Successful debombshelling!

Fantastic! The shoes are great and the print looks fantastic on you. I love your big cascading scarves too. And nice bag!

OMG! The bag, the shoes, the scarf! I love love love it. I see a lot of exciting color and bold pattern here without any of it being the least bit over the top. Chic and sophistacated all the way.

Red is definitely your friend. You wear it exceedingly well. The leather skirt is divine, too. Really great look overall, but then you always look completely pulled together.

  • Jamie replied 11 years ago

You always look so pulled together, and this outfit is no exception. I love it all! The shoes are fabulous!!

OMG - the SHOES!!! Those are my idea of heaven. Red. Comfortable. A bit of height. <falls over fainting>

This whole outfit is wonderful. And I love the way you've paired the camel with the red. It makes it work brilliantly, at least from this distance. Wonderful!

Thanks for your lovely comments ladies. These are most definitely "happy" shoes. I keep looking down at them and smiling! I have been out and about this morning at apppointments and each time I pass a window I can't help but look shoes in the relection (does anyone else do that??)

Deborah, my mom and I once watched a little girl walking down the street with her mama, and every step she took she picked up her foot and gave it a good look...her mama turned to us and said, "new shoes...." LOL. Yep, I've done it, too!

  • Ana replied 11 years ago

Oh my goodness! Gorgeous shoes, Deborah! And fabulous outfit, too! :) I hope you feel better soon.

Deborah, the camel coat seems the perfect length for the skirt and looks so cosy. It lends a softness to your outfit.
I can see why you have 'Happy Feet' in those shoes too!

Great outfit! I adore that purse -- who is it made by? Those shoes look like the holy grail: comfy yet classy. love, love, love this look!

  • Deborah replied 11 years ago

Suz I actually thought of you when I saw these shoes :)

Jenava, that is such a lovely story an that's exactly how I felt today. I suppose parts of us never grow up:)

Heather, I bought the bag at a friends store. Here is her website for you

Thanks again for taking the time to look ladies. Red is an amazing color, even thought I have been unwell with a cold, I still felt pretty good... I think it was the shoes ;)

The shoes are TDF. Love the colour combination of red and camel

  • Janet replied 11 years ago

I think you wear red better than almost anyone I know!

This is one of my favorite outfits I've seen on you. Just gorgeous and it's very *you*!

OH(gasp for those shoes,...and bag:-)) lovely outfit, shoes are almost similar to Angie's japanese mary janes:-)

KILLER to the power of KILLER - with and without the coat.

No more black from head to toe for you :)

I love this chic outfit on you! From the fab new shoes to the red fluffy scarf it is gorgeous. You have successfully de-bombshelled your cool skirt (and softened it nicely with the blouse). All of the the boxes are perfectly ticked! And yes, I get the new-shoe feelings too! I'm smiling when I picture you checking out your shoes in the store windows or looking down at your feet at your desk. So cute!

Oh I always love your black with red...but these shoes and that bag are over the top! I am drooling over those shoes. I would never have known you were not super tall from your pictures..you look lovely always. Anyway, I was a little uncertain on the UN tucked shirt. but that is probably my own bias against losing my waist.
