WIW: It's Complex

Happy Weekend Everyone, (I am loathe to say "ladies" as I note we have quite a few men here now) :)

I am now on holiday from work and enjoying a relaxed weekend before we go away for the week (yay).  Today we visited a friend's Garage Sale that is a fundraiser for a village they support in Fiji and then went for lunch and did a bit of shopping.

I think I do have a RATE side and this would be it.   I suspect it's not everyone's cup of tea but that is ok :)  Earl Grey anyone?

Further to alaskagirl's post yesterday, which was a very interesting read:

today's outfit reminded me that my work and play outfits while they may share some elements, can be quite different and I guess both are still quite authentically me.

Outfit details are:

Black Skinny Jeans, bagging out a bit - old
Complex Geometries top - can be worn many ways
Target Sandals - old

Thanks for looking and your comments always very much appreciated.

xxx Deborah

Wow, I'm curious about that top. Does it feel heavy?  If you get cold, is it hard to wear something over it.  It's a great statement piece!

  • Deborah replied 7 years ago

Marmee, we are entering our hot stretch:)  No it's not heavy at all.  The fabric is cotton and it's like a tshirt material and it actually has intentional holes throughout the fabric.  Very light and comfortable.  If I was to wear a jacket with it, I would go for something very structured to 'reign in' the top.

That really is completely you! Nice outfit. I love that the draping adds some interest and texture. I wish I could wear draping as effectively as you do, Deborah! It always looks...well...authentic on you!!

Suz makes a good point. This is your signature with a flourish. It's pretty classy for a garage sale. Where are the thongs and tracky dacks?

  • deb replied 7 years ago

    Such an interesting top.

  • Lyn D. replied 7 years ago

    As are my black skinnies.
Always love this top on you Deborah, and the sandals are pretty swish and unusual too.
Great version of track pants, singlet and thongs!

  • Greyscale replied 7 years ago

    Love it!

  • Debra replied 7 years ago

Great weekend outfit :) I love the way you have draped this top, very dramatic, but there is an ease about it.
All black looks great :) I'll be having a garage sale soon, I might have to entice you up to attract the buyers.
Have a wonderful week away :)

The draping is fantastic and very true to your signature style. You are in your lane and you own it!

Greetings, Deborah!  Sounds like you plan to enjoy your week off thoroughly!  Does DH get this Sunday off, or do you do what we used to call "preach and run?"

Love the silhouette on you --- The top is wonderfully dramatic and drapes in a lovely way.

    Have a great week off!

    I have Complex envy! Love!!
    Enjoy your holidays!

Love this side of your style Deborah (& all the others).
Does this come in navy LOL?

  • Niefern replied 7 years ago

I'd love to have a great drapey top like this one, Deb. But I have wide shoulders and I fear it would not look as good on me - I should try one on, if I find one that fab.

  • amiable replied 7 years ago

This is the type of stuff I wish I could wear :)  Love this, and love it on you!

  • shevia replied 7 years ago

Fantastic Deborah! Do you feel like you have found your sweet spot style wise - it certainly looks like that to me!

  • Deborah replied 7 years ago

Thanks for the 'complex' love ladies.

Debra, I would so love to come to your garage sale!  We would have so much fun:)

Caro, Complex Geometries do quite a bit in Navy:)  I am very desirous of the Junction Dress in Navy.

Amy, you should so try these styles if you like them:)  In fact, you could make something!!!

I'm crazy about that CG top on you, Deborah!
Your leisure style is just as fab as your work style. I enjoy seeing this relaxed side of you.
    Enjoy your holiday!

Deborah - I just realised I have a long navy cardigan of theirs in a  tee-shirt material :)  Just the sort of thing I need for this crazy weather.

Caro, I am a little envious!  Did you buy it overseas?  Both this top and my dress are 'preloved' Ebay purchases.

  • Neel replied 7 years ago

Agree that this outfit is so you!  Drapey top with a twist, skinnies, shoes, signature red lips and matching nail paint!  I am sure the garage sale attracted a lot of crowd ;)

  • amiable replied 7 years ago

Deborah - I'm forever wanting to make something with super shapes, and then thinking that it would just look homemade.  I almost bought the Allsaints dress just to see what shapes they used - but I think I figured it out from everyone's pictures.  I just need to give it a go....

    So unusual and fab!

Hope you have a great holiday, Deborah!

I don't think you could look RATE if you tried, but this looks gorgeous on you. Hope we get to see other variations on ways to wear the top as your warm season continues!
