WIW : To Show Off New Boots:)

Happy Weekend to all!

A couple of weeks ago I posted a pair of boots I had ordered. They arrived, and there was no question I was keeping them. For those interested they are Nine West American Vintage range and I did get them on deep sale. The ankle is wide but I do have a lot of tolerance for the flower pot effect, but I feared they were too flower pottish but I was determined they were not going back:). I can't decide If they have more of a cowboy, or spaceman feel!

So first outing today, I wore them with an all black outfit (suprise). Leggings tucked into knee high black socks which I then scrunched down to the ankle to fill the gap. I'm happy with the look but maybe I am just seeing what I want to:).

There are two outfit variations here. You will see I changed toppers, purely because I decided I like the proportions with my sweater more. And I tried the boots with leggings tucked and then untucked...I was concerned the height of the boot shaft (?) might have been shortening. Anyway went with leggings tucked and oversized sweater.

#1 is with the long sleeve drape tee
#2 & 3 close up of the boots
#4 is with the sweater
#5 was more about photographing my hair!! (You're the only ones who understand lol)
#6 because this post is so monochromatic...bonus shot of my kitchen bench!

DH caught me Instagram-ing my boots while we were out today. Can I tell you there was quite a bit of eye rolling haha.

These will be for non work wear (I think). Most of my wardrobe tends to go to work and play but I don't mind having the odd thing that is work or weekend only.

Trying a new photo spot in the kitchen of all places. There is a window opposite the pantry door (which I'm standing against) so thought it was worth a try. As you can see I love black clothing, but I love white decor:)

Thanks for looking.and if you have other suggestions for styling the boots, I would love to hear them.

xxxDeborah

Oh, wow! They are perfect! The silver/grey is dark enough to work beautifully with the black and yet still add a bold element! You have done a fantastic job with scrunching the leggings- the boots do not appear wide at the top at all!

They are super cool! Love! Of course you must keep them. I love that the metallic is quite dark so they don't create too much contrast with your black outfit. You are a master of minimal, draped and eclectic - the silhouette is perfect. Your hair looks fantastic, Deborah.

How amazing are those boots ??????? No flowerpots that I can see, styled to perfection. You look fantastic :)

Oh, they look super. I can see why you decided to keep them right away!

I love your new boots! The color will look wonderful with your signature black--just enough contrast. No cowboy or spaceman feel that comes through on my screen! Your kitchen bench pic is cheerful and fun.

Oh yeah, you are keeping those. Love how they add interest to your outfit but are not "in your face". I think metallic booties are going on my fall wish list! I prefer them in the first pic, with the legging tucked in.

And of course your hair is AWESOME!!!

Those boots even though you found them in a "deep sale" are absolutely TDF....I love them as a break-up with the black...Wonderfully chic and styled outfit...

Love them!  They bookend your new almost-white hair so perfectly but still go with all black.

Fantastic boots! Love how they stand out without being on your face! You have the right to show them off. Show away!

    Killer

This is how I like head to toe black - with pewter boots. Gorgeous bookending, Debs. xo

When choosing a good pair of boots the name Nine West always come to my mind first!

  • Suzanne (ambergreen) replied 9 years ago

Spaceman Mod. In a good way! Yet they also have a current feel to them. Silver shoes and boots (well, silver anything) are some of my faaavorite things. I like!

  • T replied 9 years ago

They look really cool - and are a wonderful shade to pair with black! You look fab.

I thought I was going to see you new zipp-ee boots- can't keep up with your wonderful boot collection Deborah :)
Love this colour with your black, love the shape of them- Fab!
Now to the kitchen- a great backdrop to your outfit, and how pristine it looks.
I have learnt at the Salvos how groups of 3 items with similar colours works well for displays, but I wish my bananas were more navy or red so I too could co-ordinate my fruit bowl with the kitchen decor ;)

Head to toe black never looked so sassy. These boots are gorgeous and I am so glad that you got these. They add an unexpected touch to your outfit.

Lyn I'm not one for a lot of "stuff" out on benches and surfaces but for some reason when I do have things on show, I have a tendency to "cluster"...it must be a merchandising strategy;)

  • ElleH replied 9 years ago

Love the boots & how they elevate an otherwise all black outfit.
