WIW : COS Blue Dress

Hi Ladies,

Change of silhouette for me but I liked it!

As Anne said in her post today, Spring seems to have come and gone in 60 seconds and we are now experiencing summer temps:)

I wore this on Friday during the day to get the final bits and pieces done (and have a lovey lunch with a friend) for the fundraiser event I was working on.

As you know I rarely belt anything but it just seemed right here.  It was such a cute little cotton summer dress that I couldn't resist.  It fills a bit of a wardrobe hole of cool dresses for those very hot days when you don't really want to wear anything;)  I think it could go to work as well if I change out the shoes.

I actually wore the sandals in my finds below as what I had on in the pic just wasn't quite right.

Thanks for looking.  Love to know your thoughts as this is a little different for me.

xxx Deborah

I think you look great Deborah, I love the dramatic sweep of the scoop at the back.

And it is fun to wear a different shape...

I like the sandals in the pic but they are casual so I can see why you changed to the other ones.  Both are great.

Great dress and gorgeous color on you. I think it would work unbelted too, but it is fun to find something you want to belt isn't it?

    I really like it Deborah.

I was wondering how you have been going with the heat in your part of Oz and how you would do Summer with your fab style.

Although it's a different shape for you, it still has that sense of 'you' with the interesting back. I like the sandals too.

It is a different look for you, but a really really good one!

Thank you Sally, Shevia, Coco and Linda, I had a few seconds questioning the age appropriateness of the low back but quickly decided I didn't care;)  Lol. It was nice and cool :)

Gosh, do we have to worry about age appropriateness of backs of dresses now? I think the back is what makes it you - very dramatic. The belt is a bit different for you - still fab. I like both sandals.

Deb, you look gorgeous I love the belt with the dress, the little bit of toughness that the wide black belt and the edgy sandals bring to the look. The back is such a neat design. I would love to copy it. . . but that would be for my fantasy life, in which I would have plenty of the summer weather you're having now, and my back wouldn't feel drafty.

I sympathise with the weather, it is like summer in Western Australia too! I've gone from jeans, sweaters and boots to summer dresses and sandals within a week.  This is a great summer look, a wonderful breezy little black dress. As always you look stylish and polished.

So pretty! You look fab in navy.

It looks very casual and easy - just what you want for a hot day. The colour is a nice change from black , yet still looks sophisticated and chic.

Great for a hot day. Love the colour and back detailing.

Different is good! Love the color and the back detail.

  • shedev replied 8 years ago

You look really good in navy.

  • Suz replied 8 years ago

The colour is really spectacular on you, and I love that back detail. Definitely no age inappropriateness. I also think it is important to have wild cards like this -- it's "you" in that it is a dark neutral and interesting in its details, and it's different in that with the belt it is a more traditional shape. Win-win. :)

A bit of a different look from usual Deborah - but still a winner!

    Omgosh! Gorgeous!

  • rachylou replied 8 years ago

You look good, but boy is it a different look. I have to acclimate ;)

I find this shade so crisp and fresh in Summer.  Love the belted, easy look on you!

  • lyn67 replied 8 years ago

OMG, almost didn't recognize you:-)-- but still cool with the wide belt, back tie on the big opening, and flat sandals+all in navy, of course!

  • Sara L. replied 8 years ago

Fun dress!  I love the scoop back with the tie.

  • Maneera replied 8 years ago

Oh I love you in a dress! Super fab!

You look amazing, doll!  It's so strange to see the down under crowd getting out their sandals as we up in the top hemisphere reach for our boots.

Love this shape on you and color is good as well.
