Glasses Search May Be Over:)

Thank you all so much for your feedback on what feels like 100 posts on finding the right frames.

The Optometrist I found has been wonderful and they got new frames sent in for me, which sadly again were not the best fit.  They have sourced some more from a brand that I found fitted well so hoping to check those out in the coming days.

In the meantime I have tried on so many now that I think I have a good picture of what I think I am looking for.  So, I have spent hours on line and these may be my new frames.

They are 49mm (lense width) and 16mm across the bridge.  They are the cat eye shape and they don't lower and flatten at the temple, but rather remain raised and rounded.  They are also not too round at the bottom.  These are all the elements that I think make for a most flattering shape for me.

I can't get them in a B&M store to try but the online retailer has an excellent return policy.   Sorry cannot show them on but they are the same size as the ones that the majority of you liked in a previous post.

Fingers crossed!!

PSA : Danier Blouse Aussie Version

Hi Ladies,

You may recall that both ElizabethP and Shannon have this awesomely gorgeous blouse/tunic from Danier  (sorry couldn't post pics, but here is Elizabeth's K/R post):

http://youlookfab.com/welookfa.....nons-shirt

Well just by chance, I came across this yesterday in one of our Australian fashion retailers.  It is a little different and the pattern is more horizontal than diagonal.  Just thought I would share.  It's a  sale item down from $100 to $29.00

The very lovely ElizabethP got me the Danier one but we are still waiting for it's arrival.  I did snap this Aussie one up this morning (it's returnable) just in case the post let's me down.

Have a great day all.

K/R : New Handbag

Hi Ladies,

Nothing like retail therapy to cheer oneself up... right :)

One of the elements of my wardrobe that I have been slowly addressing over the past 12 months is my handbags:)  I haven't posted much on it, but I have purged and now have a collection of nice quality handbags.  I probably still have more than I really want to have, but I am working on that.

A wardrobe hole I felt I recognised was for a more structured leather bag, primarily for work.  I have been carrying the lovely slouchy black tote my sister gave me for my birthday quite a lot, but I feel taking it to work all the time is going to dull my passion for it.  Also I like a nice structured bag for meetings and when I travel for work, as my outfits tend to be more "suit" based for these occasions. (It's also so much easier to find things in a more structured bag)   Ok, so therein lies my logic for the purchase.:)

Making myself accountable to you, I must disclose that I have a similar bag, but smaller in a patent leather.  It' doesn't get used a lot but I do love it.  It's a little more of a ladies that lunch type bag, if you know what I mean. I use it on occasions where I need to present in a little more of a classic style.

I think this new bag will work with my style, adding structure to the strong unstructured elements of my general style.

So there is my justification!! But what do you think?

#1 - #3   New bag

#4 - #6   New bag with older bag for comparison.

Appreciate your opinions.

WIB : Colour Me Pink!

Well I figure Rick (Owens) is playing with pastels, therefore so can I.  See we are all lemmings in one way or another :)

I have bought it, so not a keep or return and it was on sale so no return.  But even so, please be honest (re selling is always an option).

In the first instance, I plan to wear it over a Metalicus black tube dress and sandals with sleeves pushed up.  My make up needs a little softening, so a definitely a softer lip colour and probably no cheek colour:)

This is clearly not styled at all, but what do you think?

Have I gone mad??

And to my fellow Sisters of Darkness, I am not crossing over to the other side!  I won't be making a habit of this lol.  I did think it could be a cool way to wear black?

Thank for checking it out.

FYI: Fab Shirt Dress

Hi Fabbers,

Witchery are an Australian brand and they do ship overseas so I thought I would share.  And of course I thought this might be of interest to my fellow Aussie fabbers (Lyn D??).

Saw this lovely shirt dress in store yesterday.  Did not have time for a try on but the fabric felt lovely and the length looked quite good.  Great colour and love how the fabric at the back falls.  Haven't seen many shirt dresses sans collar so this is of interest to me.

Kimono Jacket. Search

Hi Ladies,

I have been looking for a kimono jacket for probably the past two years. Bought two last year and promptly ebayed them as they just were not right.

Have just come across this on line. I don't usually do fringes. However I find this strangely appealing, and it would only be worn over black (and possibly my white jeans).

What do you think? Is the fringing too much. Is it too "young" looking, or could it potentially work for me?

Thanks for taking a look.

One Out...Two In

Hmmm I think I got the 1 in 1 out policy a little wrong!

I am farewelling my trusty Shooties after three Summers together. At the time they were more of a "make do" shoe as I couldn't find exactly what I wanted. I ended up really enjoying them and they have been well worn. Looking a little worse for wear and a bit out of shape I realized when I got them out for the coming summer that it really was time to replace them.

Had my eye on a replacement pair which are the exact style I was looking for, only to find when I went in store to try them on that they were reduced AND they had the same shoe in a taupe (called Fawn). Need I say more?!

Farewell my little shooties, you served me well, and welcome Emilia x 2 into my wardrobe;)

PS. Have I mentioned before just how much I like shoes??!

Vegan Leather Pants???

Hi Fabbers,

Apologies, slow day at the office and I will try not to bombard you with too many posts today:)

Can someone tell me the difference between vegan leather and pleather?  Doing a little research online suggests that Vegan Leather is simply a 'cooler' moniker for faux or fake leather??

I get that technically it is supposed to be made from non animal products and Vegan leather is supposed to be eco friendly (the PVC versions are not).

I have noticed on many blogs, bloggers referencing their vegan leather items in a manner that suggests they are really cool :)

Educate me.. please?

Of course, I do have a deeper reason for asking... I just bought a pair of vegan leather pants!!  So much for not buying anything else this month ha ha.  Will be posting K/R as they were a whim and I am not sure:)

Wardrobe Hole?

Hi Ladies,

I have been wondering if I do, in fact, have one wardrobe hole!

I don't own a current pair of black pumps.  They are not something I would wear a lot but I did find myself wishing I had a pair to wear with my soft black track pants.  For Spring they would also be useful with certain dresses when I wanted a more lady like vibe and also with skinny jeans when I'm feeling a little chic:)

These have a good heel height and the toe is pointy enough?

Could you see these working for me and my wardrobe?

Thanks, appreciate your thoughts.
