Glasses Search May Be Over:)

Thank you all so much for your feedback on what feels like 100 posts on finding the right frames.

The Optometrist I found has been wonderful and they got new frames sent in for me, which sadly again were not the best fit.  They have sourced some more from a brand that I found fitted well so hoping to check those out in the coming days.

In the meantime I have tried on so many now that I think I have a good picture of what I think I am looking for.  So, I have spent hours on line and these may be my new frames.

They are 49mm (lense width) and 16mm across the bridge.  They are the cat eye shape and they don't lower and flatten at the temple, but rather remain raised and rounded.  They are also not too round at the bottom.  These are all the elements that I think make for a most flattering shape for me.

I can't get them in a B&M store to try but the online retailer has an excellent return policy.   Sorry cannot show them on but they are the same size as the ones that the majority of you liked in a previous post.

Fingers crossed!!

xxx Deborah

Good luck Deborah!! Now that I know we wear the same size frames I can save myself major bother and just steal yours!! Can't wait to see!! But they look perfect.

I really like the look of these - what "colour" are you getting?

  • Kari replied 9 years ago

That sounds super promising. So glad your optometrist was helpful, even if it was ruling out what didn't work. Fingers crossed that we have a winner!

  • Deborah replied 9 years ago

Gryffin, maybe I will just come and nab yours!!

    Caro, darling, they're black:)

  • Caro in Oz replied 9 years ago

That was my wild guess :) :)

Thank you ladies!  I bit the bullet and ordered them this afternoon:)

Very, very nice Deborah. Really hope they look as good on you. I think this finer frame should suit you well and I love the shape. Fingers crossed for you!

Those look really good Deb. Fingers crossed for you.

Oh I like these and I really think they will work for you! YAY! The new glasses I just ordered are 49mm lens width and 14mm across the bridge, so they are very similar in size to the ones you ordered. I really liked the cat's eye shape on you in your other post. Fingers and toes are crossed that these are the ones!

I hope they work out for you, Deborah.  Shopping for frames is rarely easy.

Perfect selection...I love the contrast of your hair with the glasses...
Mine are the leopard tortoise type frames that I am so in love with I may never change...The freshness of the black does bring up the interest...

They look great, Deborah! And is that a colon and semicolon? :D Hope they work out for you.

  • Deborah replied 9 years ago

Yes Astrid;). From their "About" page "The Derek Cardigan brand is for all you quirky, expressive, creative types looking for that happy place between true self and aspiration". I thought the colon and semi colon were a cute quirk and a little different for me:)

One of the pairs I have has the multiplication and division signs.  I am an accountant so it seemed funny to me.  :)

  • Deborah replied 9 years ago

Cheryle, I saw those on another pair I looked at. It's a really nice touch. I found most of their styles really appealing.

  • Astrid replied 9 years ago

It's an awesome little detail for sure! :-)
