One Out...Two In

Hmmm I think I got the 1 in 1 out policy a little wrong!

I am farewelling my trusty Shooties after three Summers together. At the time they were more of a "make do" shoe as I couldn't find exactly what I wanted. I ended up really enjoying them and they have been well worn. Looking a little worse for wear and a bit out of shape I realized when I got them out for the coming summer that it really was time to replace them.

Had my eye on a replacement pair which are the exact style I was looking for, only to find when I went in store to try them on that they were reduced AND they had the same shoe in a taupe (called Fawn). Need I say more?!

Farewell my little shooties, you served me well, and welcome Emilia x 2 into my wardrobe;)

xxxDeborah

PS. Have I mentioned before just how much I like shoes??!

Deborah, your new friends are very pretty and look like they will be a great addition to the social group that lives in your closet.  :)

How clever you are with numbers! Well done, the replacements are great looking.

Deborah, in my view this is completely justified!!

Those shooties served you well and were legitimately looking tired. Meanwhile, the new shoes are just wonderful -- simple, sleek, and strong. Perfect!

I would be buying a pair in this style myself if I lived in a different climate. Love them.

Well, you can't seperate twins, or sisters, or whatever they are.  So you're doing a public service while making your feet look VERY pretty.  Great score!

LOL for the girly math and congrats for the new finds!

Hi Deborah ~ The new shoes are beautiful and your reasoning for purchasing both colours makes perfect sense to me.

Thank you for sharing this post - it seems simple to you, I'm sure, to evaluate your footwear and say, "these shoes are worn out and need to be replaced," but this process is a bit of a revelation to me for some reason.  I have only recently realized that things don't last forever and I have to be prepared to replace those well-worn items in my small-ish wardrobe in order to keep feeling fab.  Thanks :)

    The replacements are beeeeyoutiful!!!!!

@kimberly: yes, that is a problem for me too! and I used to snicker about my garden design clients who expected everything to stay the same through the different seasons and years but I'm just as bad when it comes to clothing. It has helped me a lot to think of outfits like recipes and my clothes like ingredients, which need to be combined, measured & replenished with some regularity.

Oh Debs, the old pair has served you well. I love the new matte ones, and that fawn should be a great bookend for you! Have fun styling your new shoes!

Great finds!  I look forward to seeing how you style the taupe pair.  I almost bought a very similar pair but wasn't quite sure what I would wear them with.  I was thinking of them more for fall, as it's cooling down here, and maybe that's my problem.  Maybe I should be thinking of them as a spring/summer shoe.

You get extra credit for wearing the trial ones into the ground.
And if you want to make everything come out even, maybe your DH has a pair of shoes he can part with? (Just trying to be helpful.)
