WIW: Wide & Cropped + Hair Pics

Happy Weekend Everyone.

After a cool snap yesterday and a lot of rain, we are again experiencing the heat :)

Today for church I wore:

  • Cotton wider leg, but ever so slightly tapered, pants
  • Draped, sleeveless top
  • Block heels
I bought the pants recently after identifying a wardrobe hole for light flowy pants for holiday wear/home wear that I can do things around the house etc in..  They really are for casual wear but some how found themselves a little dressed up for church??  The top and shoes you have seen many times before.

And some snaps of my hair cut:)... for all angles:)  Special guest appearance by Master 11 who wanted to show you his hair also :)

Apologies for the pics, lots of mess on the floor.  I have a number of home reorganizing projects on the go at the moment.

Thanks for looking.
xxx Deborah

Your hair is gorgeous! I think it might be the best yet. Your outfit looks fab and M11 is a riot!

  • Joy replied 9 years ago

Well, we can see where Master 11 gets his great hair and stormy blue eyes! Love the new pants, outfit and hair!
BTW, current HEWI is summer shoes like yours only flats or less then 2" heel. Any brands that I should look at? I want something that will be comfortable, has pretty good foot coverage, and will look good with black summer pants like yours or track pants.

  • Deborah replied 9 years ago

Thanks Shevia, I am really happy with my hair.  I would just like a bit more length on he top most layer and I think it would then be perfect :)

Thanks so much Joy    Master 11 is a little dream boat but I think I am biased.  His dad has very thick strong hair too.

Joy I might just know where to find a sandal as you describe.  I will just do a bit of research and will come back to you xxx

This is such a great cool and breezy outfit and your hair is gorgeous! I am loving the style and the color! And of course your son is so handsome and his hair is wonderful too. :-)

  • Gaylene replied 9 years ago

Love the hair! That cut and you belong together.

  • Deborah replied 9 years ago

Joy I think you would love Django & Juliette.  There shoes are in a delicious soft leather and are incredibly comfortable.  These are not the same as mine but they are low heeled, ope toe and good coverage.

I will see what else I can find.

Absolutely stunning, Deborah. Just beautiful. Your hair has depth and movement and looks so elegant! Love the outfit, too. And as for Master Eleven,  he is full of spunk! Adorable (but don't tell him I said that or he won't let us see his photo any more.)

So, a question....when you have a long side fringe like this, does it sometimes get into your eye and bother you? I don't know if it is the shape of my head or what, but mine often does when it's on the longer side. (I go longer or shorter with mine more or less at my stylist's whim -- it always comes out looking acceptable but some of my cuts are more "pixie" and some are more "long asymmetrical fringe" if you know what I mean.

To some extent it depends on how much she has to thin the hair -- I have to have a lot of layering and typically my top layer is on the shorter side (like what you have here but more layered even) I think mainly because of my head shape/ hair texture. Anyway, I waffle on this and really admire what you have here and often want to experiment with wearing mine more like that -  but then I worry because I'm constantly annoyed with the fringe to begin with!

OMG how gorgeous are you both!!  What magnificent eyes you both have.  Amazing genes at work here and photo too cute for words.  Love the outfit.  The line of the pants are so elegant, perfect with the top, shoes, earrings.  You have done such an outstanding job with your wardrobe - it's so magically seamless and cohesive.  I am really awed.  I only dream of this IRL.  Hair is stellar Deborah.  I loved the front and you kept that but the sides and back are beautiful.  You are truly blessed that you look amazing every way I've seen  your hair, but this looks so cool for summer.  Perfect.  Are you over the moon with it?

  • abc replied 9 years ago

You make it look so simple - black and white and so chic. I just realized I should find my red lipstick. Yours really brightens up the whole look. Master 11 is super adorable but don't tell him I said that!

  • amiable replied 9 years ago

LOVE the hair!  And the outfit too :)

  • karymk replied 9 years ago

Im gonna dupe this Deborah.  HE is sooo cute!

  • Transcona Shannon replied 9 years ago

Wow Deborah - you look stunning! The outfit is lovely and I really like those trousers. But it's your hair that I can't stop looking at. I love the variation in colour and the chunkier layering. It has both edge and softness.

    Master 11 cracks me up!

  • Caro in Oz replied 9 years ago

Your hair looks totally fab Deborah :)
Nice photo of the two of you - tell Master 11 has fab hair too :) :)

  • Deborah replied 9 years ago

Thank you.  You are all so kind.  Master 11 was mokeying around.  He's at the stage where a serious photo is out of the question lol

Gryffin, I find it hard to believe your wardrobe doesn't work as well as mine:)  You have such a clear picture of your own style and knows what works and what doesn't.:)

Suz,  In answer to your question no my fringe doesn't fall into my eyes.  The shorter layers are above the eye and the longer are graduated down the side of my face, that stops it from flopping into my eyes and to be honest, my secret weapon is a light spritz of hairspray.  Hair still looks pretty 'natural' but it gently holds the fringe in place. and I can easily sweep it back into place with my fingers say after being windblown.

  • Deborah replied 9 years ago

Caro, when we compliment Master 11 at the moment his stock standard response is "I know... right "  ... what is that?   lol

Shannon looking at your recent cut I would think our cuts might be similar only due to different hair type and colour, the styling looks a little different?

  • Gigi replied 9 years ago

I really like the outfit and your hair too! I think that the fabric and color of the pants really allow them to be worn for a dressy occasion. And I'm sure that pairing them with that top (which I love...I have one similar!) dresses them up too. I always enjoy seeing your polished style.

  • Transcona Shannon replied 9 years ago

I think your cut is a much funkier version of what I have although I think the back is pretty much exactly the same just without the colour variation. It really looks gorgeous in you Deb :)

  • jackiec replied 9 years ago

OMG my ds says the EXACT same thing. Even I do it now. I know, right?

Your hair is fantastic! But that pic of you and your DS is amazing. Totally frameable. Wow :)

  • Ginkgo replied 9 years ago

Deborah, your style just gets better and better!  I don't comment often but I absolutely look at every one of your posts and admire and learn from it.

And I love your earrings too!

  • Karie replied 9 years ago

Your outfit and haircut are both gorgeous! Master 11's hair looks awesome too!

  • replied 9 years ago

    Gorgeous hair, handsome master 11.

  • Sharon replied 9 years ago

Those pants look really dressy - how fab that they are cotton and work for casual. The outfit looks great! And I think your son has your eyes :)

  • CocoLion replied 9 years ago

This black and white outfit is right up my alley!  And your hair is beyond cool.

  • tulle replied 9 years ago

Great hair, great outfit, great boy.

  • Louise replied 9 years ago

You look cool and chic for the heat, both outfit and hair. What a lovely picture of you and DS x

  • carolbee replied 9 years ago

Wow, your hair is so fab. I swear that in the photo with Master 11 you are the double of Debra-lee Furness!

  • Style Fan replied 9 years ago

Absolutely gorgeous!  Both of you!  I love your hair, outfit and your shoes are TDF.  I was looking at a pair like that in nude.  Not sure why I can't heels.

  • Mona replied 9 years ago

you look gorgeous in your new haircut and Master 11 is just adorable. Great score on casual pants too.

  • Joyce B replied 9 years ago

Wow, Deborah, you look like a model! Absolutely fabulous! Your hair is fantastic and I love your black and white outfit. I suppose the secret of the pants is that they are a little cropped at the ankles.
You have a very handsome boy.

  • Rubygirl replied 9 years ago

Looking good! Love the hair. Master 11 id handsome (I know right--lol). I notice that you have also painted your nails black. Love your earrings too. I do not wear white as well as you. I can to the winter white much better.

  • Suz replied 9 years ago

Thanks, Debs. That's helpful. I suspect it has to do with my different face shape then. Mine is more like Shannon's (and I think our hair texture might be more similar, too). So it is long and narrow, and my hair is super thick, which means I need more layering in the fringe portion. It is also graduated as yours is but still drifts into my eye when it's on the longer side. Nevertheless, I plan to take your cut to my stylist next time and see what she says! Because this is so lovely.

  • Nebraskim replied 9 years ago

Omigosh so sleek. I'm downloading these images to show my stylist what I want. My execution won't be as good as I have dark hair but it's the general shape I love. Thank you.

  • Jjsloane replied 9 years ago

You look fab as always. I LOVE your hair and can't believe how grown your boy is. So handsome.

  • Angie replied 9 years ago

You hair looks killer stunning, Debs. I LOVE the dark back. Nice '80s touch. That photo of you and DS is precious. Hope you frame it. xo

  • lyn67 replied 9 years ago

Told ya, huh? Hair is always gorgeous(but I love the new cut and color very much!) and the red lips are your best statement accessory, for sure! Master 11 is a handsome guy!
