WIW : Last Day @ Work.. for 3 weeks:)

Hi Fabbers,

Finished work today for three weeks.  Yahoo I am on holiday.

We have had a hot spell so I decided to give a new skirt its first outing.

The skirt is one of two things I bought (both were intentional purchases) from Sussan over the Christmas / New Year break.  I had been wanting to purchase 1 or 2 new skirts to replace a few older and poorer quality ones so was thrilled with I found this and a Metalicus one I am yet to show you.

Worn here with my Metalicus drape top.  The blacks show up quite different in the photo but IRL its barely noticeable.  Both are similar fabrication and his outfit felt really good.  I am considering the same again but swapping out the black top for my blood red one for an engagement dinner we are going to in Feb.

This is my new haircut!  After all the fuss, It's not that different really, only shorter.  I am not sure if you can tell but it is shorter at the front and there are more subtle layers throughout.  It feels fantastic and took very little time this morning.    I am going to have to experiment with styling products tho.  My stylist used some wax yesterday to create texture and that looked quite good. I will try and get some proper hair pics over the next couple of days.  In the meantime came across this Pin today and this is SO much like my hair cut only mine is a tad choppier in the layering. (#3)  I know... really nothing like Gennifer Goodwins afterall lol.  My hair is quite different to hers.

And I am already looking to the cooler weather and Autumn dressing and ordered these French Connection pants today (#2).  Caro kindly alerted me to them before Christmas and in assessing my wardrobe for the coming season a full length harem pant was something I have been wanting to add for a while.  I see them working well between casual and office and working nicely with a blazer.   My harem leggings are great but not wearing the best so they won't have a long life span and don't work as well if I want a more corporate version of me.

Thanks for looking:)
xxx Deborah

OMG your haircut if fabulous!!  I love the back and how it shades in color dramatic and just beautiful.  Front is similiar but I loved your look before so it keeps the best of the old cut with this new fabulosity!!  Wow, wow, wow!!  Love the skirt and the tops is perfect for it.  Just fab all around!!  Enjoy you new goodies and haircut!!

That skirt is incredible Deborah - love the way it hugs your fabulous shape but not in a body con way. Gorgeous draping detail on it. Did you semi tuck the corner of the top or is that the shape of it? Either way, love that.

Your hair is looking great. I'm glad you clarified that the last pic isn't you though 'cause I was looking at it going "that doesn't look like Deb...I don't remember that top..." - lol!

Gorgeous new cut, and the outfit with the new skirft is really fab! I remember we talk you out of one similar one(but little too small?) last year, but it really payed off to splurge on this one, from metallicus!  It's K2K in my book with the drapey blouse alltogether!

The new 'do looks fabulous, Debs. Are you going to leave the back dark? I like that effect. (I do that with my own hair although the effect is less dramatic because I am naturally blonde).

I LOVE THIS SKIRT AND TOP COMBINATION. The drape and fit are sublime. xo

Great outfit Deb.  I love the way you've made the top drape to match the skirts drape.  And your hair looks awesome, I hope you have success with finding a product - they make all the difference in bringing out the chop!

Is your hair dark at the back, like the pic?

And yay for holidays!  I can't remember the last time I had three weeks off in a row...

    The hair, the hair  <plonk>
Fabulous cut and bonus points for ease of styling (always a win in my book).
Angie, the last picture is not Deb's as far as I can see but somebody with a similar cut to hers. Our lovely blonde Deb did not go dark on the back! :-)
Big envy here to 3 weeks of upcoming vacation. May I ask how much vacation time you guys get in Australia? North America is notoriously scroodgy with the vacation time :(

    Love your hair Deb!

Your outfit is fab too. I agree with Elizabethh, I love how you tucked the top to make it drape to echo the skirt. Very clever.

Thanks ladies! What a lovely boost, so glad you like the hair:)

Sveta and Angie, my hair is indeed dark at the back. My hair looks almost exactly like that photo !! Foe a split second when I saw it, I thought it was my hair lol. That is my natural colour:). I stopped colouring the shorter back layers for ease mostly as those short bits grow out so fast, but I like the graduation of colour too.

Sveta as I understand it, Australian workers are entitled to 4 weeks paid annual leave. Some "industries" receive more. DH gets 5 weeks (he is a pastor). We also receive, I think it's 9 days, sick leave per annum. We actually now call it personal leave which covers illness, parental leave (if DS were sick) and other family and personal matters. I think we have a very fair and generous system here. I never have to worry if I need time off to attend say a doctors appointment, pick DH up early from school, respond to a need of my MIL for example:). Are these things not legislated in Canada and the US?

And Shannon, the top is semi tucked off centre of the skirt;)
