WIW : Dress Weather:)

Happy Weekend Ladies!

One thing I like about the warm weather is I get to wear my dresses. I find I am much more inclined to wear dresses in Spring/Summer with Autumn / Winter being a pants \ Leggings heavy season:)

This dress is new this season. Simple, black, jersey and a very cool drape at the back. Wore this to an AGM this morning. I was up for reflection for the Board of our community radio station. They voted me back in...must have been the dress lol.

While I love this dress, I recognise that it's not the most slimming style. I am not skinny, so the slight body con (it skims really) highlights my tummy and hips, and the draping at the back adds to my derrière but for the first time in my life these things are mattering less to me. The dress is a good fit, I like the style, it reflects my style preferences and I feel good. YLF has been instrumental in helping me reach this point. I'm happy with the body I have right now regardless of how slim or otherwise it may be.

Your thoughts , suggestions, critiques all very well welcome. Has YLF helped bring about this level of body confidence for you also? Don't get me wrong, I have my days when I wish I had Elle McPheresons body and feel quite displeased with mine, but general these days it's all good;)

xxxDeborah

Ooh wow Deb, that's is a fab style dress! I also think it's very flattering, you look great! I'm glad you got a favourable result from your meeting and very well deserved too!

I love this dress on you. I think it is easy to focus on the bits we don't like, but as an outsider, I don't see hips but just a seriously good looking frock!

Congrats on the  radio gig - sounds like today was a success all around!

Gorgeous, truly. The draping is perfection!

I am with you...hanging around here I have definitely become more accepting of my perceived imperfections. I think it's the wide range of body types and ages coupled with Angie's guidance that has opened my eyes to the idea that ALL of us can be stylish. Gone are the days when the only "models" we saw were in a fashion magazine.

I am really happy that YLF has helped you to see past your own perceived imperfections and appreciate how fab you look.  I really like this dress on you and don't see any figure flattery issues.  I absolutely love the drape on the tush.  I imagine that would be a bonus for those of us who need a boost in this area.

I love the dress - I don't see any of the issues you mention. To my eye it makes your bum look fab. Glad you feel good about your body I have traveled the same road myself as a pretty pear and getting dressed is much easier when you embrace your shape.

You know how to dress for your body in the most individual and flattering ways and that is a real skill. All I see is fab dress and shoes.....on a beautiful womanly body. I don't see fit issues at all. Pleased for you that you've been re-elected to the Board!

Gosh I must disagree, I think this dress is incredibly flattering!!  All I see is gorgeous curvy hourglass.  Everyone should be so lucky!  LIke the great screen stars of the 50's and kind of what Marilyn Monroe might have worn today if she was as edgy, chic and elegant!!  Black really makes you glow and I like how your hair color with it's nuanced highlights and low lights plays off the black!!

  • Deborah replied 9 years ago

You are all so kind! And that's one of the things that has supported my journey to a healthier body image.

Gryffin, my waist must be on the return lol. It's been a while since I felt I looked the hourglass I used to be. Healthy eating and excersice might just see it's full return :).

And I'm thrilled you all like the dress. It was one of those spontaneous finds:)

    I love this dress  Deborah!
IKWYM about wearing dresses in S/S- and you have found some great ones for your shape and height :)

Yes to the body (and age) acceptance thing too, thanks to YLF.

As long as we are able to find well-fitting, great clothes, we can be the best versions of ourselves and more content with what we have!

  • Deborah replied 9 years ago

Lyn still working on the age thing lol. Next years birthday has a "0" and I am a touch confronted by it;). Not ready to say it out loud ha ha.

  • fuzzylogic replied 9 years ago

Deborah, I honestly see that dress as very flattering! I love the drape over the derriere and the high-low hem! And the thing that makes this dress look so hot is you- it's the way you wear it and the personality you inject into it! Looking fab!

I love this too and would gladly wear it-- it is post-apocalyptic bombshell is a subtle sort of way.

YLF does help with body confidence.

Oh my, the fit of that dress is so FAB!  The draping on the back is super cool and flattering.  I don't see any of the tummy/hip issues.  You look gorgeous!

  • thimblelina replied 9 years ago

Every inch of you is beautiful. Excellent dress.

Ha- wait till you have an 18yo and 50 is starting to sound young :)

You look gorgeous and even better feel gorgeous!

  • columbine(erin) replied 9 years ago

The dress sets off lovely curves. I think you look beautiful.

  • catgirl replied 9 years ago

Incredible dress and really flattering to my eye.  :)

  • Deborah replied 9 years ago

Thanks ladies:). I guess we (I) can be a bit hard on ourselves sometime, you see curves whereas I tend to see "blubber" lol (on a bad day of course:) ). Yet I know on someone other than myself, I too would see lovely curves!?

  • Sharon replied 9 years ago

I think this looks great. I have a sugar eye for bombshell looks and this ticks all the boxes. This emphasises your curves in a really flattering way and I love the way the draping at the back references the old style bustles, but in a modern way.

  • Neel replied 9 years ago

Oh gosh!! This is my kind of body con dress! I love it absolutely! Beautiful drape detail on the back, which showcases your ... Ahem ... Booty ;) ... Really well...without looking tacky :). I need that dress in every color of the rainbow ...

I am definitely at more peace with how my body looks (or rather how I am able to dress my current body) now than ever .. Although I have put on a good 5 pounds (to stay healthy) from when I joined YLF. It's all good here too :).

  • Beth Ann replied 9 years ago

Love the way this drapes, Deborah.  It is rich and luxurious, while still being cool -- which is tough to find.  It is probably also even better in movement.

Your curves bring out the lovely lines in the dress -- you flatter it as much as it flatters you.

  • Suz replied 9 years ago

What Sharon said! I really, really like this on you. It's elegant and flattering and just plain lovely!!

In fact it looks like a perfect summer dress to me!

Does it work with any toppers if you want it to?

  • lauraallen replied 9 years ago

I love this dress on you and looks great.Dress wearing changes according to weather like in summer we love to wear loose clothes and in winter their would be different wearing. And dressing depends on individual's states as some like to wear fashionable clothes, accessories, jewellery  all the time. According to weather wearing of sunglasses also changes. In summer, we like to wear UV protected sunglasses.Today sunglasses are the ultimate fashion accessories for glamour and style.Their are many good Wholesale Sunglasses Suppliers in market.Fashionable sunglasses with good design and branded outfit can make a huge impact on one's personality
