WIW : Embracing A Trend

Happy Wednesday Ladies!

I have been recognized the need for a small Wednesday capsule for my work at the Community Meal over the warmer months. One of the things that stood out as a wardrobe hole were suitable but still fashionable footwear with a closed toe.

I have been considering the slip on sneaks for a while and finally went and bought a pair. I actually bought two, the other were black and white snake print but after playing with them at home, I decided the black were the go and the snake would probably languish in my coset, so they have been returned (Master 11 'told me so') lol

So today I wore my Monki Cocoon Dress with 3/4 sleeves worn with Target slip on leather look sneaks. The sneaks are very comfortable and nicely cushioned and worked well for being on my feet for a large part of the day. I also like how they work with dresses and skirts :)

I often do things after the community meal so I like to be able to whip off the apron and look presentable for school pickup, coffee with a friend, etc.

What do you think? I think this dress looks better IRL with movement but I think it fits the JFE category.

So have a hit a right note with the sneaks?

P.s. My new hair straighteners arrived today, very exciited! Hopefully my hair is going to be a little easier to manage:)

xxx Deborah

Thanks Ladies! Can't believe how comfy they are. It's a trend that hasnt quite taken off here yet and I received a number of compliments on the sneaks yesterday:)

I just bought slip on tartan plaid sneaks and let me tell you, they are TDF...I am sure I will be running around the snow in these pretties...So glad you have some, too...They are just the most comfortable shoes ever...And I absolutely love the style...

Great look, definitely JFE.  I could use a dress like that too, I love wearing dresses but mine seem to be either too restrictive, or too strappy (for school or community events, more suited to the beach) or too dressy.  Something casual and comfortable but with flair would be super useful.

Great slip ons! They look really good with the dress.

Kiwigal, I bought this dress from ASOS.  If you are looking for casual dresses, take a look at there.  This was very reasonably priced, fabric is a nice quality and it's such an easy dress to wear.

The leather-like slip ons look great with the dress, Deborah! I can picture it in motion, so fun. I like the contrast of the flowy dress with the more rigid sneakers. They look like they'd be nice and versatile for you for summer. FWIW I stick to primarily closed-toe shoes in the summer time and the shoes I like to wear most are loafers, slipper flats, pointy skimmer flats, short boots, and pumps.

You know I love this look :)  I have a pair just like this from Michael Kors and I'm now in danger of needing a second pair to keep for "good" I wear them so often.  Comfortable , and with that slight nod to street fashion :)  Love it with your dress!

I love this look! It reminds me of Angie's look, summer frock with big white sneakers. This outfit is very much your own avant-garde take on the look. Glad you found shoes to fill your Wednesday needs!

Love! I've got a navy leather pair on my list because I love them with a jeans skirt.

    Wonderful dress.
You have curly hair?!  I would never have guessed from that sleek bob!

I love the dress, I love the sneakers --- I'm tempted to go to ASOS, I need to remember them in the summer when I wear more dresses.

MuseumGal, my hair au naturel is not a pretty sight lol:)

Oh no, super hip even as a still photo!

You need a black apron to go with this. Do you have a black apron? Hehe. I'm from apron country.
