WIW: Another Casual Summer Ensemble

Hi Ladies,

Drove to Melbourne with Master 9 this morning ( unfortunately DH wasn't able to join us) and out and about all day and overnighting with my best girlfriend. Felt warmer than the forecasted 26 and this outfit was pretty comfy and quite cool.

Black and red Striped skirt was midi length but just wasn't getting worm so I hemmed it to knee length and its getting a lot more action now:). Worn with a tunic length t and sleeveless drapey vest. Casual sandals and coral scarf.

I'm pining for the cold weather!

Thanks for looking. As always your thoughts and suggestions for improvements are appreciated.

xxxDeborah

You do look cool and stylish. I like that length skirt on you, so I'm glad you shortened it and are now enjoying it. All looks good to me :)

So artsy and well coordinated, Deb!Love your pops of coral red to your blacks here!:-)
Had a querry on your last thread,too-about wearing a scarf in such a warm weather for skin protection.
Do you wear your summer scarves like shown here, loose on your neck, or you put ithem rather on your shoulders/arms/back, like a cardi when running in the sun?

  • Deborah replied 11 years ago

Lyn I do both. Mostly I wear it like in the photo here, but this afternoon we went to the park and the sun was very strong so I covered my shoulders and arms and wore it shawl like:)

Thanx for a quick answer, it landed in my inspiration folder, to try it in summer:-)

I really like that length on you and the orange scarf adds such a nice flare.

Another fantastic summer look. I am taking notes!

Stunning, Deborah! You are elegant eclectic personified in this. Now, how can I bring some of that style into my own summer looks? I am going to be studying your sensational style in advance.

Funny how sometimes you just won't feel a particular skirt at a certain length. I know you love and wear midis. But perhaps this skirt works best with flats? For myself, I like a knee length skirt with a flatter shoe better.

Deborah, great look. Its hard to believe you can stay cool, with this many layers! Don't go wishing for the cold, I just read Shannons post where it is -30!!!! Can't bear even thinking about that type of cold.

I love the floaty scarf with the fitted skirt. Great summer look.

Pining for cold weather are you? Well c'mon up to the Canadian prairies Deb - we're currently sitting at -39C and apparently, that is the high temperature for today! According to the news, exposed skin will freeze in less than 5 minutes. That ought to cool you down - lol!

This outfit is Elegant Eclectic gorgeous! I love the draping with the scarf and how it pulls out the red strip in the skirt. And very clever of you to shorten the skirt and get more wear out of it.

I love your "new" skirt, Deborah - I'm sure you'll get tons of wear out of it. And you've styled it so nicely.

PS I am also looking forward to some cooler weather!

Ahh, you have me pining for warmer weather! Gorgeous outfit. You manage to look SO stylish and true to your descriptors despite the heat. I'm in awe!

The look of a big scarf is so right to my eye at the moment. Love the draping and the easy elegance. Beautiful outfit!

Fantastic! The scarf is the perfect accessory IMO, esp. for summer's frigid A/C.

Love your "new" skirt, and that scarf is lovely. Flowy outside in the heat, but I bet it helped keep you warm in the arctic air conditioning!

Somewhere in my distant memory, I recall how frustrating it was to try to look fresh in the heat ---- You succeed beautifully here. Love the scarf with the stripes in the skirt.
