K/R Black @ White Abstract Jacket

Hi Ladies,

I love Angie's Zara Jacket and while I have been considering it for my wardrobe, I have reservations about the floral for me, I also don't know if it's available here now (or if it ever was). I have also been watching a couple on Ebay but the prices seem a bit over the top... anyway I spotted this one in a catalogue on the weekend.

It is a polyester and to be honest, I really expected it to be cheap and that very tacky awful feeling polyester. But when I went to look at it, the fabric was lovely and soft to touch and it sits and moves beautifully.

Also, the abstract pattern seems more me than the florals.

So what do you think? Excuse the multitude of pictures but I wanted to give as good a picture of the jacket as I could to get your feedback.

Please note that the left (on your screen) side of the jacket needs a gentle press. It's a little wonky after being folded all day.

Styling is a bit average but hopefully gives you an idea of what I am thinking for the jacket - its 9.00 p.m. and my creative juices are just not flowing:)

Ok, over to you. Is it a keeper??

Thanks so much.
xxx Deborah

Keeper! I love how you styled it in 1 :)

Keep! Reminds me of Rae's Rorschach outfit; and a very striking alternative to the floral --- and might actually outlast that trend very easily!

    Jen, thanks so much:)

ManidiPa do you have a link to Rae's outfit? I can't recall it and would love to take a look.

Well, in her case it was the top with the 'ink', though a lighter pattern, with a darker blazer. But the reverse should be great too! http://youlookfab.com/welookfa.....nth-day-14

I love this on you. Just scrunch the sleeves when you're got the sleeves of the button down turned up. Keep.

Beautiful jacket - well worth the hunt! Perfect topper for your black dress. It would also work brilliantly with this season's brights.

I am not sure about pairing it with the chambrey shirt - I find the cuffs distracting with the jacket's beautiful print but I like the idea of dressing it down. Maybe with a plain white tee and bold accessories?

I LURVE this on you Deborah! Keeeeeeeep! Very trendy yet dignified at the same time. I love the cut and tailoring and it looks fabulous with the denim/chambray shirt. We will just have to fuss with the cuffs a bit when the time comes, but I love the colors together. This is perfect for you. I'm so glad it turned out to be a *nice* polyester. That makes all the difference, doesn't it?

I like it open, but not closed. Pattern is great though.

You know what I'm going to say: LOVE AND KEEP!!

  • rae replied 11 years ago

    LOVE!!!

  • JR replied 11 years ago

I like it too, although I agree the chambray cuffs aren't working as well as your other combinations. And it seems to be one of those rare prints that should stand the test of time very well.

Keep! It's lovely on you. I thought for sure it was a designer piece when I saw it on Angie. I can't believe it's from Zara.

Another keep. I loved out over the black dress and red shoes and think a white plain top and black jeans would be fab...course I have never seen you in jeans

  • Aida replied 11 years ago

LOVE love love how it looks open!! Please keeeeeep :D

I like the jacket, I think its very "you". And red pumps are giving it just the right touch of color!

Thank you so much! The jacket is in the closet and the tags are coming off.

Manidipa, thanks for the link. I have a similar top and it's got me thinking about some pattern mixing with the jacket.

Agreed the chambray shirt might be a bit much bulk under the jacket. I will probably try to keen the under layer clean and simple.

Jayne, I wear jeans heaps since coming to YLF:). In fact many of my posts feature jeans.:)

Thanks again all. I can wear this jacket with great confidence xx
