WIW : Skirted Lemming!!

I wore my skirted leggings today for the first time and I LOVE THEM!
I am sorry about the photo, I think the flash went off and I just didn't have time to do it all properly.  I also tried a quick outdoor pic but the sun was in the wrong spot but I liked how the top looked with the sunlight on it :)

Skirted Leggings : Motto
Metallic Sweater : Suzanne Grae
Boots : Rubi

What do you think of the skirted leggings.  Note that the legs are quite long and scrunch at the bottom. I will get them hemmed but haven't had time.  For now I am just tucking them into my footwear.

Thanks for looking.

xxxDeborah

Love them, Deb! I also really really love this metallic sweater. It's exquisite!

  • Brooklyn replied 8 years ago

I love them too. They are just the right length on you and the asymmetrical hemline is fab. Great with the sweater.

  • Deborah replied 8 years ago

Maneera and Brooklyn, thank you! I am so happy with them. The are a long desired item and I am tempted to buy a second pair?!?

  • anne replied 8 years ago

    Love them too!!!

I love this look on you and think it may be wise to buy a second pair.  I found a dress that I loved at Witchery (just a plain white shift dress that fitted me perfectly) that I went and bought a second one and do not regret doubling up on it at all.  It has become a real work horse and it is nice to know that I have one in reserve in pristine condition.

    Great!

Great look.  Love the sweater on you.  I am looking for skirted leggings but I think I may try the EF ones.

  • frannieb replied 8 years ago

The skirted leggings look fab on you - like how they are a little longer.

  • dakotacheryl replied 8 years ago

Absolutely wonderful..the boots...the skirted leggings and the sweater is gorgeous in the sunlight.
I can see you getting a lot of wear...buy another pair LOL.

  • Elizabeth P replied 8 years ago

Oh, these are AMAZING.  I'm almost tempted to get you to get a pair for me!  I think this longer length would be super useful.
That sweater is pretty amazing as well.

  • Destri replied 8 years ago

Love. Love.  In fact, I'm tempted to order these (even though I'm in the US).  I have the EF ones and have worn them a lot and I would love another pair.  I really like the longer skirt on these and the asymmetrical hem for added interest.  So, I see that they go down to a size 8.  I normally wear a size 4 to 6 in US sizing (5'6" and weight 132lbs).  What size do you think I would take?  Thanks in advance!

  • TraceyLiz65 replied 8 years ago

The perfect length skirt and added bonus asymmetrical hem what's not to love? The metallic sweater is fabulous pairing for the leggings.

  • Karie replied 8 years ago

The longer length on those leggings is perfect. I'm tempted to get a pair too, even though I live in the U.S.

  • donnat replied 8 years ago

They are really awsome. I love the longer length and the asymmetrical hem.

  • gryffin replied 8 years ago

Love, love, love!! I wear mine at least twice a week and need to hold myself back from wearing them more. I have one pair heavy rotation, one "good" pair and three back ups. Welcome to the dark side!! Just gorgeous!!

  • carolbee replied 8 years ago

I love these, love the longer length. They look great with the metallic grey top. How come I didn't see that in Suzanne Grae, I'm always browsing that store!

  • Linda replied 8 years ago

    One word, fantastic!!!!

  • Janet replied 8 years ago

I love this! You are looking so fantastic these days. The skirted leggings are perfect, and I'm stealing that top. ;-)

  • shedev replied 8 years ago

    Love them.

  • Firecracker (Sharan) replied 8 years ago

Another big yay vote from me. I love the length and asymmetry, too. And the whole outfit is fantastic, with the subtle shine and lovely drape of the top and those cool booties to anchor the look.

  • replied 8 years ago

Gah - this is just STUNNING!  I love the asymmetric cut of the skirt - watt more interesting than the boring old shorter skirted leggings I have .  And that metallic top is beautiful on you - I'm so envious you can wear this type of top.  I wonder if anyone has seen an asymetric skirted legging from a North American source??  I'd love to try to find a pair.

  • MuseumGal replied 8 years ago

Those are terrific - much better than the EF ones.  YLF!

  • Carole replied 8 years ago

I've never really thought about purchasing skirted leggings until now,..killer! I love the longer length and asymmetrical hem. What a great wardrobe piece!

  • Elly replied 8 years ago

These look amazing on you. You wear knits so well. I recently purchased a tube skirt and wore it with a knit top that I thought would be perfect with it and felt too unstructured and exposed all day compared to my normal knit and denim combos. That is my fear with skirted leggings. I love the asymmetry as well.

  • missvee replied 8 years ago

I think this is one of your best looks. I love that the skirted leggings have a bit of asymmetry to them, and the top is a great shape and colour.

  • annagybe replied 8 years ago

    Seriously fantastic.

  • Bonnie replied 8 years ago

Seeing you in your fab new skirted leggings has inspired me to search for them - you look great and I like the longer length.

  • catgirl replied 8 years ago

These are perfect and they look very different on you than the model - even better than I expected!

  • lyn67 replied 8 years ago

Wow, wow, wow! I was so curious about  the dreaded butt vest your way:-), and these have and excellent length to my eyes-so perfect with the asymetric  hem!  Styling also impecable, wow, I want a pair myself, too:-)

  • Lyn D. replied 8 years ago

    Wow!
Even this non-skirt wearer is tempted after seeing your pics :)

  • Suz replied 8 years ago

So beautiful!! I love that skirted legging...even I would try it! ;) It's fabulous with the asymmetric hem. And that top is so lovely on you. I like it in the sunlight, too.

  • Echo replied 8 years ago

This is the PERFECT length for a skirt on skirted leggings, and the asymmetric hem makes them even more fab. LOVE this outfit.

  • Deborah replied 8 years ago

Elizabeth, if you want a pair I would be very happy to get them for you.

Destri, the would be worth it.  I would say the Australian Size 8 should be fine.  I go the 10 which is my usual size and they are perfect.  The leg is a little looser than a regular legging but I like that and they are not 'loose'.  I am 5ft 2 so the length will be better on you.

Karie, I can recommend them highly.

Suz, I think these would be a better option for you.  The longer length and subtly looser fit on the legs:)

Ladies, they are sold out at the moment but they are restocking.  I will keep an eye out (I look at the website all the time:) ) and I will message when they have them back.   They were $89.00 and shipping overseas is a flat rate of $25.00.  And if I can get them for you and send them on please just let me know xxx

Everyone else, thank you so much for your comments. I am beyond thrilled that you like these because I LOVE them xxx

  • Jaime replied 8 years ago

This really looks fantastic and I must admit the appeal of the skirted legging was sort of lost on me - why is it better than a skirt + leggings? Why do I want such a short skirt? (rhetorical questions, no need to answer!). Regardless you look fab!

  • Deborah replied 8 years ago

Lol, Shevia I asked the same questions too.  I have worn a skirt over leggings on and off for years BUT this is a game changer.  The comfort level is vastly improved and no worrying about the skirt twisting etc.  I know you didn't need an answer but I am seriously taken with these.

  • Aida replied 8 years ago

Ridiculously awesome Deborah, particularly love the pairing with the sparkly sweater (and thanks for the outdoor shot!). I can see you will have loads of fun with these :D

  • Colette replied 8 years ago

You look amazing. The skirted leggings are seriously off the chart fab. I've stayed clear of skirted leggings because I feel they are all too short for me, but these, OMG, I-WANT-THEM!

  • Elle replied 8 years ago

Great look on you.  I particularly like the length and asymmetry of the skirt.  I actually think this is a much cuter version than the EF skirted leggings.

  • Destri replied 8 years ago

Thanks so much for your input, Deborah.  (And, darn it, on them being sold out at the moment!  I was ready to pull the trigger -- my first ever overseas order!).  Thanks, too, for keeping an eye out for when they re-stock.  In the meantime, maybe a new similar version will come out here in the US (but I somehow doubt it).  Again, although I have the EF's I want another pair with a longer skirt.  The other thing I didn't mention that I love above them is how trans-seasonal they are.  I've had mine for almost a year now and wear them all year round!  It's funny that although one could create such a look with a black skirt and leggings the fact that they are in one piece just makes everything stay just so and makes the comfort level off the charts.  Congrats on a great score!!!

  • Joy replied 8 years ago

Fabulous!  I love the longer skirt!

  • Greyscale replied 8 years ago

These are great, and I think it might actually be ok that the leggings are a little long - I like the scrunched effect, very Rick Owens. Though hemmed to the right length is probably more versatile overall.

  • Deborah replied 8 years ago

Greyscale I'm in two minds re hemming! I like the RO vibe of the scrunch but for versatility hemmed might be better:)

  • MTBGirl replied 8 years ago

Deb this is perfect! And I want a pair too!
Also, can you fold the bottoms under so you could wear them shorter occasionally without hemming?

  • Deborah replied 8 years ago

Donna yes that is the other option. I have tried it and I think it looks fine:)

  • SarahTheWhite replied 8 years ago

Love this!! I love the asymetrical hem and those shoes! Wow. The whole thing is gorgeous! I'm also loving the dark under layer of your hair. It gives great dimension...

  • CocoLion replied 8 years ago

Totally suit you.  You can do no wrong!
