WIW Over Summer

Hi Ladies,

Summer in Australia has been a little erratic but I think average temps have been in the mid 30's throughout. My summer wardrobe has worked well for me and I am pleased with the small number of additions.

My wardrobe is still very black dominated but navy has had a strong supporting role and in some instances I have chosen the navy version over the black.. .I surprised myself a couple of times lol.

My focus continues to be a smaller, more minimal wardrobe in both size and aesthetic. I'm also choosing transeasonal garments and layering is still very much a part of my style. My interest in ethically made fashion continues as a result I am discovering some amazing Australian brands and labels I wasn't aware of before.

Anyway here is a sampling of what I have been wearing over summer and now and we enter Autumn.  I have also been enjoying playing around with the camera and playing model in my own back yard lol!!!  I promise I am not taking myself to seriously but I do have fun photographing my outfits.

Thanks for looking and good to see you all.

xxx Deborah

You look smashing! If I had to choose a favourite, it would probably be #10 - the blue with the necklace just pops. You look great in navy (and black, of course!)

  • Sisi replied 7 years ago

I cannot choose a favorite, everything is absolutely lovely!

  • Jenni NZ replied 7 years ago

I love 1,2,6,12 and 15. I am a fan of monochrome (which I do wear quite a bit) which explains my liking for most of these. Great jewellery!

  • Jenni NZ replied 7 years ago

Actually I mean 13 not 12. Really like the blue top.

  • rachylou replied 7 years ago

Beautiful. Also, a little more relaxed :)

  • replied 7 years ago

You have definitely nailed it.  Stellar collection of outfits.

  • Style Fan replied 7 years ago

Great looks Deborah.  #13 and #15 are my favourites but they are all beautiful.  I love your minimalistic, attention to detail, edgy style.  Not sure I described that very well.

  • Summer replied 7 years ago

What a treat! lots of lovely Deborah outfits!  All great, but, especially, I love 4, 7, 8 and 10.

You looked Killer Gorgeous all Summer, Debs. Lovely to see you post again.

    #1, 6 and 9 are my faves.

  • shedev replied 7 years ago

Great to see you Deborah. Spectacular summer outfits. I love black and navy together. It's just too hard to pick a favorite. You nailed it in all.

  • Elle replied 7 years ago

Wonderful outfits - stylish yet practical.  I love the color palate on you and navy is a wonderful addition to your wardrobe.  My favorites are #6 and #9 but love all of them on you.

I really admire your commitment to ethically made fashion.

  • Liz A. replied 7 years ago

I love how you know your style so well.  My favorites are 5, 6, 8, 9, 11, and 13.

  • lpr200 replied 7 years ago

Love all of them! My daughter would like to know what those adorable white/black/brown flatworms are?

  • JAileen replied 7 years ago

Wow! Really nice. I love #10. It's fabulous. I also love the sandals in #2. Thanks for sharing.

  • texstyle replied 7 years ago

Really fantastic outfits - so many favorites here! Navy suits you just as well as black.  I wonder if you'd share who makes the shoes in #12?

  • kkards replied 7 years ago

    Speechless.....

Deborah, your style is just so fab...I'm just blown away.

  • mtnsofthemoon replied 7 years ago

I love your style and hair cut Deborah!  They all look fabulous.  Your style is one I like and admire and very different from mine.  One day I hope to be adventurous and try something similar just for fun ;-)

Simply stunning Deb! I've been loving seeing your wonderful outfits on Insta. Your style is stellar.

  • Karie replied 7 years ago

Well you certainly have looked gorgeous all summer! You do long, drapey looks so well. I can't even pick a fav, they are all great.

  • Lyn D. replied 7 years ago

    Gorgeous Deborah!
#13 and 15 are my favourites- loving the blues on you too.
What are your new go-to labels?

  • Sal replied 7 years ago

Lovely Deborah - I have also been following along on Instagram.  The blue is lovely on you, as is black, and your style is unique and consistent.

10 and 13 are my picks!!

  • Elizabeth P replied 7 years ago

OMGosh Deborah.  Wow.  I'm blown away... I had no idea your style could get even better!  You've added some amazing new pieces, and I love how you are accessorizing.

So good to see you again!!

(please keep posting WIW's, I've so missed you)

Thanks so much for your kind words and warmth :)

Lucy, thankyou.  I am really enjoying the blue tones.

    Sisi, thank you.

    Jenni NZ, love Monochorome!

rachylou, yes I think I actually have relaxed quite a bit in my styling and choices.

Sterling, I must admit I am totally loving my wardrobe these days.

    Summer, thanks you are lovely.

Stylefan you totally described it well, that's exactly what I am aiming at :)

Angie, thank you so much.  I have learnt how to 'lighten up' a bit for summer :)

Shedev, thank you!  Always appreciate your thoughts as we share quite a love for a similar aesthetic.

Elle, it's been a while coming but I just can't pretend I don't know how many of our clothes are made and the conditions in which workers are subject to.

    Liz A, thank you.

lpr200, the sandals are from Rubi Shoes (part of Cotton On) here in Australia.  They were inexpensive and have been my shoe of the season.  I love them :)

    JAileen, thank you.

Texstyle, those sandals are by Top End.  Leather but to my knowledge not necessarily ethically produced (shoes are a hard one to source).

kkards, you are making me blush.  Thank you.

mtnsofthemoon, I encourge you to step and have some more fun with your outfits.

Diane G, right back at you.  If only we lived in the same country!  You have been knocking me out with the outfits you are making.

Karie, thanks and so lovely to see you.

Lyn D, thank you.  My go to labels would be Lulu Manna, Vigorella, Shortlist Shop, still Motto :), not so much Metalicus (bad wrap on the ethical element) and House of Poly for accessories.  Check them all out, I think you will be impressed.

Kiwigal/Sally thank you so much.  What's your insta name??? I need to be following you.

Elizabeth P I miss you!  You are so kind.  I think I have relaxed into myself if that makes sense.  No longer trying to be anything but me.  Wearing what feels good and what looks good in the mirror to me:)

What a lovely, cohesive wardrobe and fabulous sense of style you have. If I have to pick favorites, I would say 1, 5 and 13.

  • Echo replied 7 years ago

Oh, I've missed you and your outfit posts! I always love your outfit, but #10 stopped me in my tracks. You look just lovely. Don't be a stranger!

  • Caro in Oz replied 7 years ago

All lovely :) So glad you are enjoying your clothes Deborah.

  • tricia w. replied 7 years ago

    Love. Love. Love!

  • Jaime replied 7 years ago

Great outfits! I love your use of long statement necklaces to set things off. Favorites are hard to pick but maybe 3, 9 and 12.

  • Joy replied 7 years ago

As Elizabeth said, who knew that your style could get even better. You managed to surpass perfection. I am grovelling.

  • lyn67 replied 7 years ago

Wow, thank you for posting your summer outfits, they are always a great inspiration for me at the beginning of our season! Love the addition of blues AND whites to all that edgy black you always wear and BUT you have the most current, stylish  and comfy  summer shoe collection on earth! After being  our leader wearer of the cut out/peep toe bootie sandals I now  especially  love the laces in the last pictie and  am warming up for buying myself a pair, too... And for about the layering and draping textiles, you are the Master OF! :-) All beautiful, will study them piece by piece, please post more often! Love the shorter hair, too!

  • Suz replied 7 years ago

Stunning, Deborah -- as ever! I love your use of the statement necklaces -- that silver circle is gorgeous on you. My favourites here are 1, 6, 9, and 10.

  • No Fear of Fashion replied 7 years ago

Realy very nice. Great styling. My personal preference is 1, 7 and 10.

  • Lyn D. replied 7 years ago

Thanks Deborah, and I really like the look of Vigorella especially!
Are you buying mainly on-line now? How is that working for you?

  • Janet replied 7 years ago

Totally totally fab. How do you manage to keep looking more and more stunning? You've really honed your style so beautifully.

  • Cee replied 7 years ago

Beautiful outfits and yes, I'm glad things have finally cooled down !

I'm actually wearing a poloneck skivvy for the first time this year !

  • Lisa replied 7 years ago

This is such a feast for the eyes.  I can't even pick a favorite here, I like them all!  You have such a keen eye for interesting drapes for the pieces you add to your wardrobe, and the layers look interesting but not too warm which is ideal for summer's hot days.  I am always trying to figure out how to layer in the summer months because I like the layered look.

  • MTBGirl replied 7 years ago

Good to see you again Deborah! #1 and #13 are my favorites. Wow!
