Seasons Greetings

Merry Christmas Fabbers!

Just popping in to wish you all the very best for Christmas and the holiday season.

Work and parenting have really had an impact on my time here this year but I do check in and catch up often but with little time to really interact. I miss you all, love seeing new faces, am always inspired by everyone's outfits.

I'm still getting dressed every day and taking pics and here's a few recent ones as our weather has been warming up.

Fashion wise, it's still black, navy, grey and whites. I am slowly adding some muted colour (just a little) and I've taken a stance in buying Australian made (as much as I can) and supporting smaller local independent designers. I'm on a bit of journey as far as this goes but for some reason the ethics of clothing production has and is becoming more important to me.

So sending love and Christmas wishes on this very hot Christmas Day in Australia. Hope you have a good one!

xxxDeborah

It's great to see you! You look gorgeous as always. #4 is my favorite because I love that shade of blue with your hair color.  Merry Christmas!

  • Suz replied 7 years ago

You are looking wonderful! I especially love #2 -- the texture on that tunic (?) is lovely. Also love your sandals in #3!

Brava for your ethical stance; it is important. I am also considering creating a few rules for myself, or guidelines, perhaps.

Wishing you and your family a wonderful holiday!

    Season's greetings, Deborah.

I'm really impressed and inspired by your commitment to Australian design, and think it's a wonderful thing.  I follow you closely, as you know, and often hope I can  find Canadian resources to do the same with. Merry Christmas Deb!

Hello Deborah, you slay everyday. Merry Christmas

  • carolbee replied 7 years ago

Lovely to "see" you Deborah. I have missed seeing your outfits. Hope the new job is everything you wished it to be. We have had one of the coolest Xmas days for a long time, only 24 - which is a bit ironic considering that in November we moved to the Sunshine coast, partly for the better weather!

Great to see you Deborah.  Your outfits are always amazing.  Happy holidays to you and your family.  I have been trying to shop ethically for awhile.
    All the best for 2017.

  • Bonnie replied 7 years ago

Merry Christmas to you and your family. You look fab in every outfit.

  • cindysmith replied 7 years ago

I love your style! You look beautiful

  • Jane replied 7 years ago

Wonderful outfits. Your hair is superb, so sleek and sets off the lovely grey / silvers and blue colours that you wear.

(The "wreath" on your door is gorgeous.)

  • Mochi replied 7 years ago

Christmas greetings from the land where Santa rides a surfboard :-D

(Back at you, by the way)

Deb, you ALWAYS look fantastic in your pics. In this case, the second one slays me. They're all wonderful, and your look is so cohesive and so you.

  • rachylou replied 7 years ago

I just love pic 1. It says it all! Happy Christmas!

  • Lyn D. replied 7 years ago

Fab to see your recent outfits Deborah!
I am loving wide leg pants right now so 1 is my favourite.

  • Jaime replied 7 years ago

Merry Christmas just a bit late. Your summer style is as gorgeous as ever!

  • CocoLion replied 7 years ago

Just today I was thinking what it would be like to have a hot Christmas.  We haven't had snow in over 3 years, but it's still cold enough to bundle up.  Anyway whenever I see your fab outfits I think, stylish-creative-graceful-composed (as in, self-possessed/calm and confident).

I admire your devotion to buying local and buying small.  I don't have many local options except for chain stores, but at least when I go to those chain stores I am supporting our local tax base and local jobs.  Although it is not always possible to buy things made in the US (or in your case, Australia), at least researching the brand is a good idea.

Best of everything to you and your family Deborah, for the coming new year.

Your Summer style is looking fab Deb! I jope you had a great day yesterday. Here's to a peaceful New Year too. Catch you on Insta! Xo

Lovely to "see" you, Deborah. Of course you look fab as ever.
Wishing you and yours peace and joy at Christmas.

  • Inge replied 7 years ago

Your style is as brilliant as ever, Deborah, and it's always so wonderful to see you.
Wishing you beautiful holidays and a new year filled with everything you are dreaming of.

  • kkards replied 7 years ago

so funny to see Santa, all bundled up and ready for winter, contrasted with your lovely, and clearly warm weather, outfit.
fab to see you again, and of course you look elegant and put together.
happy holidays to you and your family

  • anne replied 7 years ago

Hope you had a great Christmas and Boxing day Deborah. Lovely outfits as ever!

  • Momo replied 7 years ago

    Beautiful as always!

  • Tanya replied 7 years ago

Happy holidays, Deborah!   You look wonderful as always.

  • shedev replied 7 years ago

Missed you Deb. I'd love to buy local. I do have one boutique I shop at, but they are a little spendy. Every so often, I do a search to see if anything new has popped up. Enjoy the holidays.

  • Deborah replied 7 years ago

Karie, thanks and good to see you.  Loved your light toned tall boots from your recent post, so fab!  I have introduced quite a bit of blue into my wardrobe and I am really enjoying it.

Suz, thanks!  The tunic/top is gorgeous.  It's from Aussie designer Kathleen Berney and the fabric is just amazing - designed and make in OZ:)  It was Denise (CocoLion) that really got me started thinking about taking an ethical stance a couple of years ago but it took time to really think about it, start researching etc and to take the first steps.

Lisa, you know I have been coming across some great Canadian designers too.  I will make it my mission to send through any I find that are producing ethical clothing.

    Ledonna right back at you:)

Carolbee, so good to hear from you.  New job is great but working 5 days definitely hinders my social life lol.  Our Christmas Day was 37!! Hot hot hot.   Hope you are enjoying the Sunshine Coast, do you feel like you are constantly on holiday :)

Style Fan, Thanks you and to your family also.  So do you find shopping ethically that you shop less?  How has it changed things for you?

Bonnie, thank you and to you.  Loving your layering of outfits!

Cynthiawalkersmith, thank you and nice to 'meet' you.

Jane, thank you.  Hair is a work in progress as I grow out a long pixie but into a short (hopefully edgy) bob.

Mochi, Thanks, and loving your style.  You seem to have really honed your style and have that effortless thing going on.  I do feel my whole wardrobe has that cohesive element now.

Rachylou, thanks!  How good did you look in the pearl choker outfit.. loved it.

Lyn thanks!  Wide leg pants, does that mean your culottes have been on high rotation?  Love to know what you have been wearing??

Shevia,  all the very best to you and your gorgeous family.

Denise (CocoLion) we have a 37 degree day for Christmas and it was hot!  We ate outside but moved inside into the aircon for the afternoon.  And thanks your words describing my style gave me such a boost :)
It was actually you who initially inspired me to start thinking about ethical shopping.  Being in a small city in regional Victoria, we are very limited in terms of fashion shopping and like you it's mostly chain stores and then some 'boutiques' that are outrageously priced and not australian made.    So my 'local" extends a little further.   All the best to you and your family too and hope it's a wonderful new year for you.

Diane, may the coming year be a very good one for you and your family. Loving your Insta feed!  You are one clever lady.

Helen, how are you.  Was your Christmas Day a hot one?    All the best for the New Year.

Inge, to you also.  Have a wonderful New Year full of all good things.  Love seeing you Insta too :)

Kkards, it is so hot here!  But today, can you believe it is raining.  Happy holidays to you and your family also.

Anne, Hope you DH and girls are enjoying some holiday time and had a lovely Christmas.  Hope you got my message (in response to yous) but will be in touch again soon.  xx

    Momo, thank you:)

Tanya, Happy Holidays to you also. xx

Shedev, yes the boutiques can be unneccesarily expensive IMHO.  I think it's just a process to find what we are looking for.  Happy Holidays.

  • Elle replied 7 years ago

    Happy Holidays!

I love all your outfits but my absolute favorite is #4 - you look wonderful in that blue.  I really admire your committment to buying local and am inspired to try to do more myself.

  • Deborah replied 7 years ago

Thanks Elle! Good to see you. As Denise mentioned it's sometimes hard to buy local but I try to focus on the ethical. I am purchasing did an Australian designer who has all her clothes made in Bali. However it's very much a social enterprise situation and all involved are paid properly and conditions are excellent.

Merry Christmas! You look fantastic in all the pics!

  • Brooklyn replied 7 years ago

Merry Christmas! Great to see you. You are looking as fabulous as ever. Maybe even more so! All the best to you and yours.

    A belated Merry Christmas, Deborah!
You look stunning, as always, but I especially love 2 - perfection!

  • cjh replied 7 years ago

Late greetings, so can we say Happy New Year? My favorites are 3 for the shape, and 4 for the navy blue top. All great looks for your fab winter climate!

  • Angie replied 7 years ago

Compliments of the season, Debs in Oz. Wishing you a wonderful time with family and friends. I love outfit #4.

  • rachylou replied 7 years ago

    Thx! :D

  • Lyn D. replied 7 years ago

No Deborah, the culottes are Winter weight and very warm.
I found a Summer version from a new to me label Manning Cartel and they are lightweight and Fab :)

  • Sal replied 7 years ago

Belated Merry Christmas Deb, wishing you all the best for 2017!!

  • MomOfThree1980 replied 7 years ago

You look gorgeous! I love the first two outfits.  Definitely something I would wear.

  • harmonica replied 7 years ago

*Happy sigh* You look amazing as always. You have a great eye for aesthetics and your style is beautiful. Love all, but #2 is my favorite. Fun to see how you embraced blue in 2016.

  • unfrumped replied 7 years ago

Oh, you are an artist with clothing.
Late to the post, so, Happy New Year!

  • Lisa replied 7 years ago

A belated Merrry Christmas to you.  And how delightful to see summer outfits at this time of year, when all I'm wearing are sweaters.  That's also wonderful that you are able to find locally made clothes that fit your style and support your area!

  • AM replied 7 years ago

Happy holidays. I'm loving #3. Great silhouette!

  • Meghan R replied 7 years ago

All of these are great, but outfit #2 is simply phenomenal! Love it.
