WIW : It's a Wrap!

Hi Ladies!

I managed to pick up a few new Metalicus pieces over my holidays, all of which will be fantastic transeasonal items.  As a result I don't anticipate much shopping in my immediate future lol...she whispers, hoping no one will hear.

I had my eye on this skirt for a little while but wasn't keen on paying full price:) So the skirt went on sale and then they extended the sale to an extra 40% off when you buy 2 sale garments... so I know you understand that I just had to! :)

It's the California Wrap Skirt, (#4) and is the same fabrication as the California Wrap Vest which you have seen me wear a few times.  It will work well for all four seasons.

Today I wore it with an ink silky t shirt.  Not exactly semi tucked but more stuffed into my skirt (was in a hurry lol) to the side.  Round necks are not my best neckline as they tend to accentuate my bust and make my neck look skinny, but I liked the t shirt and I hope that the use of necklaces and possibly scarves will make it workable.

Thanks for looking, and advice or thoughts on styling always very much appreciated.

xxx Deborah

I heard you! :D It's a lovely skirt, Deborah. It looks great on you and if it's wearable through all four seasons that's even better. And I really love you in the tee! I think it looks fantastic, neckline and all. Great look.

I heard you too but I won't tell LOL... I was admiring that skirt on their website the other day and it looks fab on you. Lovely blue in that shirt too.

"Not exactly semi tucked but more stuffed into my skirt" - lol! This is so classy and flattering. The skirt looks so much better and more drapey on you than it does on the model - on her it sort of just hangs. What a well thought out purchase. The shade of blue of your top is just gorgeous with your colouring. And the crew neckline mitigated by the necklace is better than just "workable". I'd love to see it with a scarf too, as you suggested. You look great.

I can see why you were attracted to that lovely skirt, Deborah.

I love how everyone here feels the need to justify their purchases - wonderful excuses!   And I, for one, have very good hearing!

K2K! The new skirt(and the whole look!) is TDF!!!! Lovethe shoes,  the silky tee with and the nails matching! It's one of my favorites of your recent (otherweis all beautifull, classy, and authentic style) looks!

Please send your entire spring wardrobe to me when your weather cools. Many thanks!

  • Windchime replied 9 years ago

It was hard to scroll down past your gorgeous silk tee shirt; you look so beautiful in it! Great new skirt; I love the asymmetrical hem.

I agree with AM. This outfit is a wow! You look stunning. The necklace must be doing its job because all I see is a perfectly balanced look. This whole outfit seems so well chosen to create interest points and draw the eye in a very skilled way. And I'm loving your combining of blue and black. Do those tend to be staple colors in your wardrobe? They really work well with your colouring.

Great skirt - of course you had no choice!

  • Helena replied 9 years ago

Very flattering skirt Deborah, no doubt you will get a ton of wear out of it, and if you've been eyeing it for a while, it's sure to end up a workhorse. The ink looks so stunning on you and is a great accent to your beautiful black. Gorgeous as always! Love the nail color too.

  • UmmLila (Lisa) replied 9 years ago

I love that skirt. And the blue is a great color on you.

  • celia replied 9 years ago

I love everything about this outfit. The new skirt is fabulous and I actually like the neckline on that top.
The shoes, the nail polish, everything together is perfect.

This might just be my favorite for you!  Fantastic!

    GAH!!!

Where is my fuchsia crash helmet?

Okay, okay, admittedly, you know my weakness for blue, but this is one of my favourite outfits on you EVER!

I absolutely love it. That blue top is sensational with your eyes and I see no figure flattery problems whatsoever. I also love the necklaces.

And that SKIRT!!! It is gorgeous. Absolute perfection. I just love the jagged hem. It makes it just that little bit different from a regular tube or pencil skirt.

I have to get to OZ to shop at Metalicus. That is all there is to it. I also want to go shopping where Sharon shops. Somehow I have to win a lottery.

  • Beth Ann replied 9 years ago

Gorgeous, Deb!  I'd love that skirt in my wardrobe, too.  It is drapey and modern, but with just a bit of the 40's-Ava-Gardner glamour.

You've added great items to your wardrobe this year, and refined and focused your style in the process.

  • Lisa replied 9 years ago

What a fun skirt!  I like how it is styled here.  I vote for tucked tops with this skirt so you can see that fun wrap front detail on it.

  • Staysfit replied 9 years ago

Adore!   Even your nail polish is perfect!  This skirt was made for you, and your accessorizing is fab.  I wish I could pull off red lips by the way!  Every detail is in place.  This outfit is a winner, and that skirt should serve you well through many seasons.  (Oh, and I also heard you.....)

Incredibly gorgeous!  I'm jealous of your wardrobe :)  You look amazing!

  • Elizabeth P replied 9 years ago

Well, DOH!  Of course you had to get it!

Love this outfit Deborah.  You know how I feel about blue and black, and that skirt is great.

  • Sveta replied 9 years ago

Of course you had to have it, Deb. It is black! It is draped! It is from your favorite brand! How a gal can resist?! :-)
I think this skirt was created with you in mind - and I like it much more on you than on the model.

  • Day Vies replied 9 years ago

I love this skirt. The entire outfit is elegant in its simplicity. I love that blue paired with the texture of the skirt. In a hurry or not this is magnificent.

  • Sal replied 9 years ago

    Stunning!!
    What everyone else said.

  • Transcona Shannon replied 9 years ago

FABULICIOUS!!! Love blue near your face and that skirt is all kinds of gorgeous on you. I'm with Suz - this is one of my Deborah faves :)

  • Caro in Oz replied 9 years ago

Love this too. The colours, the proportions are fantastic.

  • AM replied 9 years ago

Deborah: These ladies are just trying to butter you up to get these spring pieces that I clearly have first dibs on.

  • Deborah replied 9 years ago

Lol, you are all so kind!  Thank you!

AM you will be the first person I think off should I tire of any of my Spring/Summer pieces ;)  But I am a bit fond of them xx

  • Dimity replied 9 years ago

You know, I'd never really registered Metallicus before I started coming here, but today I was in Myer and looking at their pieces (and the sale you mentioned too!) and I really liked them. You look great in this. The blue is terrific for you too.

  • lyn67 replied 9 years ago

Oh, just came back to ask -How's that A WRAP skirt? makes no sense for me, I thought it's a tube with some drapes made on the front as a knot, or so...now I'm really confused?? (and  still admire it, now even more..:-)).

  • Lyn D. replied 9 years ago

It DOES look better on you than on the model Deborah, and that was a great sale and hard to resist :) :)

  • Deborah replied 9 years ago

Lyn67, you are correct it's not an actual wrap:)  But it does look like it wraps.. I guess that why they called it what it did.

Lyn D, I am so glad I got the skirt.  The Mana Drape Tunic has also been a great purchase.  Only worn once so far, but it looks fantastic.

  • ElleH replied 9 years ago

Another stunning outfit from Deborah! I like you in blue & black!

  • Karie replied 9 years ago

The wrap skirt is gorgeous and it looks beautiful accented by the blue top!

  • Adelfa replied 9 years ago

Late to the party--this is really beautiful. The neckline is somewhat low for a crew and does not look choking at all. Love the blue and black which we've been talking about lately....

Maybe one of you Oz-ers would like to start up a little cottage industry, sending Metalicus items to the Northern Hemisphere!

  • Deborah replied 9 years ago

Adelpha, I am our woman!  Anyone needing Metalicus... you just let me know and I can make it happen lol.

  • Rubygirl replied 9 years ago

Win Win.. I am with Suz and Shannon with these beauties! Love the touch of polish on your nails as well.

  • Deb replied 9 years ago

Gosh Deborah, do you ever get it wrong? This is one of my absolute favourites of your looks. Seriously. The first photo is just delightful. Happy birthday to your son and congratulations on 12 years of motherhood!
