WIW : It's not easy being green..

... unless of course you are a really cute clutch!

Happy weekend ladies,

I have been wanting to show off this new clutch but today is the first time I have used it!

I have been quite inspired of late to add a little bit of carefully chosen colour (solids) to offset my all black.  Spotted this clutch some weeks back and thought it could be lovely with a simple black dress I am thinking of wearing to a wedding in August.

Wore it with an all black outfit to church this morning to give it a test drive.  It's quite roomy and it fits my purse, phone, keys, glasses, lipstick and almonds!

DH was rather intrigued by it, but he is funny about anything animal print no matter how subtle.

The outfit comprises:

Wrap soft jacket : Target
Sleeveless Top : Rockmans
Skirt : Kmart
(this skirt was an amazing find.  It was the only one there, is a beautiful jersey fabric, quite a lovely weight and has the different hemlengths.  I couldn't believe I found it in Kmart :)
Boots: Serra

Your thoughts and suggestions always much appreciated.

Hope you are having a nice weekend.
xxx Deborah

I love it!! I love the color of the clutch, and the size! I don't often see that style in a size that large, and I really think it is awesome. It is the perfect punch of color with the black. Wow.

Ha, I love that this avocado or is it lime green bag is almond friendly!

Super outfit, the jacket looks a lot like the RO one I was PMing you about!  You are so clever.

I love it.  Of course I love lime green.  It is the perfect punch of colour with your black.  I love the subtle animal print on the bag.  I just realized how many loves I just wrote.

I have a limey green handbag with leopard print lining.  Lime green and animal prints were made for each other IMHO.  :)

Great look! Love that pop of colour. And I really like the belt in your outfit!

It's a gorgeous bag and it looks great with your outfit! I've enjoyed your pops of color, they're a nice addition. I'm looking forward to whatever comes next.

Love it. It also provides that "oh, shiny" thing that a dressier outfit enjoys.

  • Olivegreen replied 8 years ago

Also, really, Target and Kmart ? I have to get over myself and go there for clothes...

That green clutch is beautiful with your outfit, which is oh-so-fabulous on its own.

And a purse that has room for a snack is my favorite kind of purse!

  • Helena replied 8 years ago

Nice! One of your best outfits, too, I think!!

    Great pop of color,

  • Angie replied 8 years ago

That clutch needs to be mine, don't you think? Matches my specs.

I LOVE the pop if colour, Debs.

Oh, the new clutch is gorgeous! I love the soft wrap jacket tied at the waist and the hi-low hemline of your skirt. So lovely!

Holy guacamole!!! This is stunning Deb! First of all - the shape and drape in your all black outfit is divine. Visual interest plus figure flattery. I'm actually coming back to all black again myself.

And then there's the clutch- YOWSA! Super pop of colour and adore the elongated shape.

  • replied 8 years ago

The clutch is a real style statement! Absolutely you! I adore the size and shape: The proportions are great on you, and it's perfect paired with the black.

  • Jules replied 8 years ago

Omg I love the clutch so much! And would have such a hard time making it work - but it's perfect with your minimal/architectural black.

Ouch!  My head.... :(  Didn't put my crash helmet on before I sat down...

This is seriously one of my favourite outfits from you.  I'd love to see the detail of the skirt a bit more - hard to see with all the black.  But the drape and lines look absolutely wonderful here.  And that CLUTCH!!

I will admit, the outfit isn't the only reason I crashed.  I started to feel a bit faint when I saw somebody use the word comprises correctly!!!  :)  A real pet peeve of mine...  :)

Love the clutch and the whole ensemble.

  • No Fear of Fashion replied 8 years ago

You know I love this. Not only the flattering outfit, but of course, the pop of colour. The clutch is awesome. I would buy it immediately if I saw it here. Nice big size and still a clutch. Thank you for satisfying my need for colour LOL.

Love the purse, and am really getting a kick out of your Kmart find..

  • Suz replied 8 years ago

Oh, this is lovely!! So much fun. I laughed when you said it fit almonds. Perfect! (It actually looks very roomy for a clutch). And you have the best luck in Kmart and Target of anybody I've ever known.

    Lucky find from K-Mart Deborah!
I feel tired just reading your 'where-from' list,  as I know you have sourced the hidden gems amongst a sea of average pieces :)
Your green clutch reminds me of Angie's turquoise bag featured last month- such a lovely pop of unexpected colour and vibrance.

  • replied 8 years ago

Well anything that's a friend to almonds is a friend of mine. Or something like that.  Quite the cool clutch, and I cannot believe I'm seeing it "on " you. And now Kmart shopping? What on earth is going on down there?  In all seriousness, that is a great bag, and looks fantastic with black, red lips and blonde hair. And if you lose any more weight you are going to disappear:)  You look terrific!!

    So fab. Love the size.

  • soobee replied 8 years ago

Target, Rockmans and K-mart?!  Unbelievable.  Gorgeous outfit and gorgeous clutch.  Where is the clutch from?

  • Jaime replied 8 years ago

You are so good at picking out the one from any store Deborah! Great almond holder too!

  • tulle replied 8 years ago

So smart, Deborah.  You knock me out.

  • catgirl replied 8 years ago

Looks easy to me! Wow what a clutch.

  • Sharon replied 8 years ago

Love the green and love the waist definition! Looking sharp :)

  • Deborah replied 8 years ago

    Thanks ladies!

Denise, yes this jacket is similar to the RO one and that is why I bought it:). Your PM inspired me to wear it.

Angie, the clutch would look awesome for you;)

Shannon, I love your large clutch and have been looking for my own for ages...you inspired this purchase:)

Soobee the clutch is actually from Khols?! It's was new with tags at our Red Cross shop.

For those surprised re Kmart and Target....our Target is actually very good and you can often find less expensive versions of what's trending and current. Kmart I don't recommend for clothes generally as their fabrics tend to be very cheap and nasty, but occasionally you come across something like this skirt. I take Angie's mantra re "leave no retail stone unturned" quite seriously and I really enjoy browsing. So while I might go to Kmart for a specific item (ie track pants for DS) I will take a little time and browse women's clothing.

  • soobee replied 8 years ago

Thanks Deborah, we don't have a Kohls  in our neck of the woods :(  The Red Cross do have great quality pre loved stuff though, don't they.  Yay for Angie's retail mantra.

  • lyn67 replied 8 years ago

Wow, love me a big clutch, and love me this shade of green! You own the biggest (green)clutch in the world (Shannon has one  other almost of that size)! Your outfit is like a canvas for that pop of color, and I like this approach-it's art in there, for sure:-)

  • jackiec replied 8 years ago

Love! I adore the size, shape, and texture of that clutch! So unexpected! Well done :)

  • Angie replied 8 years ago

Debs, you know you have to leave that clutch to me in your will. And I'm loving your longer hair.
