WIW : Danier Lemming!

Hi Ladies,

We are heading off to DH's very good friend's 60th birthday this afternoon.  No dress code and it's at their home so it will be indoors and on the outdoor covered deck (they have outdoor heaters) so I wanted to dress up as it's a special occasion but not go overboard as I am pretty sure it will be quite relaxed.

This is the first outing of my lovely new Danier top (thank you Elizabeth P).  I have layered it over a Metalicus Seamless Slip / Dress.  Added a leggings with a sheen and black ankle boots.  For a little warmth I added the cocoon cardigan.

Accessories kept to a minimum, silver rings, leather bracelet and silver earrings.

I've got to run as I just heard DH arrive home to pick me up.

Hope you like it.  What do you think?
xxx Deborah

Oh wow!  Perfect for you Deborah!  You look lovely!

So cool.  I especially love it with the cardigan/topper.

Thanks ladies.  I have to mention that I did take a large black wrap with me and I am so glad I did.  It was very cold and we were outdoors most of the afternoon.  Today was one of those occasions where I let my desire to wear a particular garment over ride what was actually practical lol.  I was probably overdressed by others standards but felt good.

Poor Master 12 has struggled this afternoon as he seems to be coming down with a cold so have just got him snug on the couch in front of a movie but even at his tender young age it appears he is well versed in the "man flu".

That top is gorgeous. The entire outfit makes you look fab.

Perfect - super styling. It seems to me that is a great outfit to cover a range of dress codes, it could read either dressier or more casual as needed!

  • Helena replied 8 years ago

LOL!!! Poor Master 12 ... Its genetic :) As always, you are flawlessly gorgeous and distinctly yourself.

  • Elizabeth P replied 8 years ago

Oh, it looks so great on you! I love how you've "winterized" it with your styling. Vague bell going off... Didn't Shannon wear it with a long sleeved tee under it?

  • Gail replied 8 years ago

    Beautiful.
I use the term man flu around my house a LOT haha

  • Aquamarine replied 8 years ago

Wow...great outfit and you look gorgeous. The wrap is perfect as a third piece. Very you.

  • Jeweled replied 8 years ago

Very striking indeed, both with and without the cocoon!  Leggings and boots are very chic on their own, even though they're the supporting cast for your superstar top.  You have incredible style.

Deborah, you make this Danie top proud! Heck, the Danier must have created it with you in mind! Love the whole outfit - so you!!!!!

I loved that top on you when you debuted it and I love it even more with the skillful layering.  Enjoy your event D.

  • unfrumped replied 8 years ago

    That is so you!

Could you elaborate on man flu just so's I'm sure I'm on the right track- I've never used the term but it sounds like something I'd love to have in my lexicon.

    Love it Deborah!

  • jackiec replied 8 years ago

Perfection. And your gorgeous earrings caught my eye.

    Hope DS feels better soon.

  • donnat replied 8 years ago

Beautiful layering, that top was made with you in mind.

  • dakotacheryl replied 8 years ago

How cool to layer that gorgeous top over the slip dress. Looks like a pencil skirt but adds a layer of warmth over your core and is probably more comfy than a skirt.

I like the cocoon wrap too!

This is so stunning, Deborah, and I'm intrigued by the idea of layering a top like this over a slip dress and leggings.  Such a polished look , yet not bulky because of the extra dress layer. I love this .

  • shedev replied 8 years ago

    This is perfection.

  • replied 8 years ago

Absolutely terrific! I love how the print and asymmetry of the top echo the sweeping lines of your hair. Outfit perfection once again! Hope your lad feels better soon.

  • Aziraphale replied 8 years ago

Great look! I love the diagonal print on the top. The minimal jewelry is a good choice for this outfit, which is all about sleekness.

  • kellygirl replied 8 years ago

Whoa! You are gorgeous! Love this on you.

  • Eliza replied 8 years ago

Love the whole look from head to toe. That print on the diagnol is stunning! You are set for a great time. Your ability to layer is remarkable.

unfrumped, "man flu" refers to the (very generalized of course :)) phenomenon that if a man gets a sniffle, the world pretty much ends and they can't get off the couch, and need a lot of tending to.  But a woman.... can be throwing up, having period cramps, fever over 100, unable to breathe, but is still expected to keep going as if nothing is wrong.

    :)

Elizabeth, thank you for that clarification. Could not have said it better. And Master 12 has it down pat. Right now he is in the bath, resting his little head on a cushion and watching Dr Who on his IPad. I just don't know how he is managing lol.

    You looked great Deborah!
Lucky it wasn't as cold as some days last week though.
We have an outdoor 50th birthday party coming up- I think my wool coat will be worn over a few layers.
I hope your 'little Man' is feeling much better today!
