WIW : @ Work

Hi Ladies,

Yes, I know, yet another black outfit *evil laugh* but I have accessorized with red! This is essentially what I wore to my SIL's funeral last week, however I wore my statement silver neck piece rather than the red here and also wore my mod inspired coat.

At the risk if embarrassing myself, these trousers are new and I am loving the fit and the leg line....they are maternity pants! Yes I take Angie's mantra of leaving no retail stone unturned quite seriously! They sit low on the tummy, have some stretch at the sides which actually makes for a perfect fit and no gaping and are tres comfy.

Next week I start a 5 week stint full time at work (I usually work 3 days), so I'm going to be calling in my FFBO's:)

As always suggestions for improvement, etc always very happily received.

xxxDeborah

KILLER stunning beautiful, Debs! I love the necklace and choice of footwear with this black on black outfit!

(psssst....if the pants fit and look fab - wear them).

Goodluck with the full work week :)

Tres chic! What are the shoes? They are really sassy and their white stitching is an understated wink to your column of black. The necklace gives a lovely structure and zing of color.

How great that the maternity pants worked so well, that was a clever thing to try. I wear kids' shoes sometime for the same reason which is that comfort is actually a priority for the people who make them.

    Beautiful!
And the Oscar goes to... The red necklace!
    Very chic.

Yowza, that zap of red really does finish off the outfit. I confess I never would have thought of trying maternity pants.

You look great - the combination of shoes and necklace add so much interest to an excellent ffbo.

great look! the necklace really is the star!

If the pants fit and work, who cares where they came from! :)

Love this, Deborah! The necklace adds that special spark, and no wonder you like those pants -- they look fabulous!! Great score.

Soooooooo elegantly beautiful Deb. That necklace is YOU and I love the patterned footwear. And no one needs to know the secret of the pants!

Thanks Ladies.  I knew exactly what I wanted in a new pair of black pants which will be primarily for work.  But I couldn't find a good fit or the leg line I wanted... straight and slim.  These do up with buttons and zip and have belt loops so there is nothing that visually says 'maternity pants'.  I think they will work well with a semi tuck too.

JulieJohn the shoes are wedge heel and are black and grey animal print :)

Looks good and I would have never suspected maternity wear.

I love the clean simple lines of this outfit with the red statement necklace for interest. Funny about the maternity pants, hey, whatever works.

    Just kidding ; )

    You look GREAT.

You look stunning! (And I'm not just saying it because Angie did. I thought that before I read her comment.) I love the red necklace and the animal print shoes, and your pants are absolutely Perfect PPL (yes, that's two perfects).
That must be the slim maternity fit--LOL!

Lovely!  I've been known to wear maternity clothes without any biological reason too -- the tummies are so comfy!

Gorgeous! I love your black outfits and how you create interest by juxtaposing minimalism and drama. Very sophisticated

I think maternity wear pants sometimes are a great solution to my apple body shape - they are roomier in the waist where I need the room and often fit my narrower hips better. I often joke and say when I was pregnant was the only time I felt like my body was in proportion!

You look lovely - the pop of red is just amazing!!!

  • rute replied 10 years ago

Love! You have such a fab style!

Lovely - the pop of the necklace is fab.

Hi Deborah, I can only suggest your usual watch or cuff-
these always cleverly draw our attention to your narrowest part, and further lengthen your torso.
    Effortlessly stylish as usual!

  • christy replied 10 years ago

Fab as always! Love the clean, long lines and the pop of color with the red necklace. BTW, your hair is looking REALLY great! Oh, and your secret source of terrific pants is safe with us! ;)

Good luck with the busy weeks ahead!

A reminder that a "statement" necklace needs a strong, simple silhouette to star.  Love the power of a little red over the richness of black.
