WIW : To Church

Hi Ladies,

A little bit of colour today for church.

We spent time in prayer for Paris and the French nation this morning. The shocking events of yesterday have sent me to my introspective world and I don't have many words today.

Skirted Leggings : Motto
Betty Belt : Motto
Blood Red Marlini Top : Metalicus
Boots : Rubi

You look stunning --- dramatic, but easy - with no fuss.

The world is different and sadder this weekend.

  • Deborah replied 8 years ago

Beth Ann it certainly is.  Our tv news is pretty much streaming from Paris 24/7 at the moment and it's all consuming.  I'm not even trying to understand the why and how of this, it's totally beyond comprehension and our sense of humanity xx

Yes and yes. But I love your red and the whole outfit.

    Beautiful Deborah!

You look amazing, and red is a great colour for you.

I agree that the world is a sadder and - at least temporarily - less free today than it was . My heart goes out to France and everyone in Paris.

You look lovely in red.  Great outfit on  you!

That shade of red is so flattering on you...what a great outfit.

Watching the news is heartbreaking. The world is a scary place these days; it's impossible to comprehend such senseless violence.

This is lovely, your skirted leggings are proving to be very versatile.  I am sure the world is united in its prayers for France.  Thank you for this post.

Deborah, I love this outfit. You wear these shorter layers (top and skirt--or skirted leggings) just as well as your longer layered looks.
I like your profile photo change, in honor of France, too. I appreciate and share your introspection and sadness.

    Beautiful outfit Deborah.

I'm shocked and horrified with what happened in France, and how the world is changing.

Yes, I agree... But you do look great - the red is amazing on you.

Beautiful, Deborah. This is a favourite for me too.
And, yes, the world is heart-broken.

Another winning outfit!  I've been doing some analyzing about why I haven't been wearing black pants or leggings, even shoes.  I don't care for black next to my face but even on the bottom half I feel heavy and off - something isn't right.   I think black bottoms look great if you have black hair - book ending. Searching through Pinterest and fashion blogs, I see black bottoms on non black haired bloggers/models look best if the black is repeated somewhere on the upper half of the body - even in a small dose- it makes the outfit cohesive.  The way these bloggers achieve that is by wearing sunglasses. Well, that's not practical IRL! I'd look like an idiot walking around in the pouring rain in sunglasses.   But I see what you did here with that lovely black beaded layered necklace  solves that problem and really ties the whole outfit together. Light Bulb -  I scarf with a touch of black would also work!

Interesting observation Sarah and Angie has written a lot about this type of "book ending", it us s simple way to pull an outfit together:). I have done it again with today's outfit:)

  • Meow replied 8 years ago

Oh Lovely!  Yes, I've read some of Angie's posts on book ending.  I guess I just was thinking more in the terms of shoes and hair color.   I'll have to go back through Angie's posts  - maybe this time AFTER my morning coffee! :)

Oh how I love this outfit on you... I haven't got the right words to do it justice. LOVE this. The red is just the right colour and shape. The belt, as you know, is perfect. And the rest too.
    Absolutely perfect my dear.
