WIW: Sunday Morning

Hi Beautiful Ones.

Church this morning and we were expecting to attend an engagement lunch afterwards. Ended up not making it to the engagement (not people we know well at all) but it was fundressing up anyway.

This silhouette may be an acquired taste? But it was fun to wear.

Black Wool Semi Swing Jacket - Table Eight
Animal Print Blouse - Target
Black Ponte Pencil Skirt - Katies
Micro fishnet stockings (layered over nude hose.. for warmth)
Brown toned snake vintage pumps (gift from a friend)

My hair was an entity of its own today. My fringe (bangs?) is too long and it just looks weird... should have swept it to the side today.

Thanks for looking. Your suggestions, critiques etc always much appreicated.

xxx Deborah

I think your hair looks lovely. I like the top you are wearing and especially like it playing peek-a-boo with your jacket.

Lovely hair, I quite like it. And yes loved those snake vintage pumps. I would love to tuck that blouse in my skirt however. Loved the look in you.

This is oh so chic! Love the footwear choice as well. I am always impressed with your ability to play with proportions in a modern way. You have an edgy polished style that is uniquely yours.

Yes indeed VERY chic and polished!

    Chic is the word!

STUNNING! The non-black shoes make the look to my eye. So nice to break up the black and bookend your hair :)

I rather like the way your blouse peeps out from under your jacket and those shoes are great. Yes very chic. BTW your hair looks good to me.

Stunning Deborah! I just love the shoes with this. 100% classy from head to toe!

So lovely! I love your hair and how your shoes compliment it so nicely. I also love how your light blouse breaks up the black.

My first thought was, "I just love Deborah's haircut." Funny that you're not feeling it -- just goes to show that sometimes we're unhappy about things that look perfectly fine to everybody else. Add my voice to the chorus of admirers of the proportions.

Love this Deborah - your hair and outfit cast a fabulous silhouette epecially in pic 1! Funny how we are always so critical of our own hair - while to everyone else it looks great!

    Thank you all.

Kiwichik and Fashionista, thank you! I love playing with layers and I suppose at the time I took the picture my fringe looked ok, but it kind of 'flopped' later in day:)

Denise, thank you for such a lovely compliment. There is a real ease that comes with being comfortable and understanding our own style (I think so anyway). This 'felt' like me.

Anne & Alicat, thank you.. if I could achieve 'chic' everyday, Id be a happy a woman.

Angie, thank you:) I am learning! I am finding more and more that I am NOT reaching for ALL black :) I still black and don't anticipate that I will stop wearing it anytime soon but I feel YLF has helped me to be a bit more creative with it.

DianeG thanks so much. Im obsessive about hair and if mine doesn't look right I don't feel right.

Kim, its so nice to have you back here:) The shoes were a gift from a girlfriend who has a gift for finding amazing vintage shoes. She gave them to me on Friday and I couldn't wait to wear them. The whole outfit was actually built around the shoes.

    Jamie, thank you:)

Declawed Jaguar, thanks. I realise I was probably being a bit picky, I find posting pics does that too me a bit.

Merwoman, so true, I think sometimes were are too hard on ourselves :)

Have a lovely day everyone and thanks so much for your feedback. Im looking foward to wearing this one again.

Great outfit, and I can't believe the top is from Target!
But oh my gosh, those shoes are to die for! They just make the outfit.
    Gorgeous!

  • Amy replied 11 years ago

Seriously, you are one of the most elegant women I've ever seen. Just stunning.

  • Deborah replied 11 years ago

Parsley, thanks so much! I fell in love with that blouse as soon as I saw it. I loved the length and the black trim. It kind of felt too good for Target! Lol. Having said that Target Australia is not bad quality wise and it's good for the budget. One of the things I have realised from my time here is that shoes can make or break an outfit.

Amy from such a stylish woman that is a huge compliment. Thank you! And you have made my day. xxx

I must join in the chorus to say your hair looks great, and I love the shoes. :)

Beautiful as always! You are so inspired, the way you play with proportions. The short swing coat shape works perfectly over the little pencil skirt. It's that great loose over tight thing, but with such fun structured pieces! You have a really great eye.

Is that a faux fur collar on the jacket Deborah? Whatever it is it absolutely launches it into Fabulousness! The blouse elongates the silhouette beautifully too.

  • Deborah replied 11 years ago

Thanks Lyn, no its just a scarf to soften the black so close to my face. It's also a brown toned animal print:)
