WIW : Sunday Girl

Hi Fabbers,

I'm a Blondie fan, so today seemed like a good day to commandeer a fab Blondie song for my post.. and it is Sunday here.

Wore this to church today.  Decided to dress up my new 'casual' black scrunch pants.  I have a low tolerance for cropped looks on me but  love them on others so hopefully these work ok to your collective eye.  Added a white blouse and semi tucked, and topped with my  animal print kimono style jacket.  Pointy flats with gold tip and my accessories are mostly black.

Yesterday Master 19 bought a silly string gun and during the course of the day he discovered that my hairspray can fits the gun...#3 is the end result.  He thinks he is soooo clever :)

Comments, thoughts on the outfit much appreciated.

And if you don't know the song take a trip back to 1979....

Photo 3 with young master mischief is adorable. I love your elegant summer outfit, especially your kimono jacket for a wonderful eclectic touch.

Did the new 'hairspray gun' work? You look great.

You're outfit looks wonderful - I think the cropped pants look great on you! I love the gold cap on the shoes and how it echoes the gold in your necklace. They go fantastically with the rest of your black and white outfit. And photo 3 is hilarious :)

Oh that is hilarious. My kid is exactly the same. "How can I make this bigger? more powerful? more dangerous?"

Great outfit. You are the epitome of "cool".  Everything is in balance here.

You look fantastic, I love this whole outfit.......perfection :)

Thanks Ladies!  :)  I just wish I had 'remembered' this jacket before I went mad and ordered two Zara-esque kimono jackets.  Both are yet to be worn with one (I am pretty sure) being destined for Ebay.

Cute pic with the young master :)

Your outfit is great! I love the laid back yet polished feel.

I love the jacket and the whole look as usual! Isn't it crazy when DS starts to get so big? DS looks taller than you in the picture. My DS (11) has feet as big as mine - I sometimes get our socks mixed up!

Oh now THIS is a fab way to wear those pants!!!! Way cool, they look great with the jacket and flats :)

I love these cropped pants on you Deb and the whole outfit has a great vibe to it.

Master 10 is cracking me up!

  • Sveta replied 10 years ago

You are The Drape Queen, Deb! Nobody wears drape-y clothes like you do.
It is so nice to see you in white, it suits you very well.

The scrunch pants and that necklace are fabulous. I'm glad you're getting to wear your kimono top, and it's nice to see you wearing a bit of a pattern too. Photo 3 has some fun proportions between you and little master - he's looking "menacingly" big :)

You look beautiful and artistic, as you always do!

I have a sudden urge to re-read "The Ransom of Red Chief".

I love everything about this and agree it has a very artistic vibe .  I love the kimono style jackets and this one is divine...

I can't get past your little evil genius!  He IS clever and that face is priceless!!!

  • Caro in Oz replied 10 years ago

Master 10 is hilarious, the face he is making is priceless :)

YLF, love the drape on the jacket.

This looks  great, Deborah. I think the gathering on the legs of the pants tapers it nicely and avoids the leg-shortening appearance of some cropped pants. I like the jacket; the drapiness works well with the pants. I was wondering about whether your other kimono jackets would work with this also. Have you tried them?

  • Deborah replied 10 years ago

Sharon I think the lighter one will work with these pants but the blue one is a bust no matter what I try with it:(. I plan to spend a little time while on hols playing with them to see what I can do. For some reason the are proving much harder to style than I expected:(

Those scrunch pants look fantastic on you, and so does the jacket. The hairspray pic is a hoot!

I favorited this because of its entertainment value. Your always-fab style in black-white-gold for SUMMER? I would have doubted it could be done.
And the Blondie video? I wouldn't have pictured her performing in an office-appropriate dress (fab fabric I'm sure but I can't see it on my phone) and basic pumps. Who knew? Fun song.
But the photo of you and your son made my day. His menacing glee AND the cool sophistication of your usual pose- with just a hint of a smile on your face- I laugh just recalling it.
    Thanks.

What a gorgeous outfit!  I love the jacket, and the pants look terrific.  I especially like the gold-tipped shoes, which look great with your hair.  This is another perfect outfit!

I love the trousers with the flats. What a killer combination. Great cropped pants length and style. I am so stealing those pants, Debs.

Nice look! The shoes and your hair and the necklace all tie in so well together!
