WIW: Stripes

Happy Monday from the land of Aus!

We are now well and truly experiencing Autumn weather and it is lovely and cool here today.

I have been wanting to wear this combination for ages and today's the day.  I have been looking for some new oversized asymetrical tops because my fave black one is looking quite tired, and I found this one and the weekend.  I am considering popping back to the store at lunchtime today to buy a duplicate in the black.

While this pairing is probably pretty typical of my style, I was inspired when I saw Beverly's outfit here http://http//www.beverlylikehi.....art-2.html

Outfit comprises; new black asymetric top, b44-esque striped skirt, opaque tights, black booties.

I have been steering clear of opaque tights over the past 12 months but I am hoping that the beige in the skirt bookends enough ith my hair to 'lighten' the look a little.

It was hard getting a good photo this morning, my face just wouldn't wake up :)  lol

Thanks for looking and your comments, and suggestions for improvement are eagerly welcomed.

xxx Deborah

    WOW!

I had to recover from the fabosity of this outfit.
Your dramatic black and white style at it's best. I usually don't care for the shark bite tops, but this one looks amazing on you. Your hair looks gorgeous and the angled bob looks perfect with your outfit.

I have no suggestions for improvement, because you look perfect! I love your version of Beverly's outfit. I think the tights look good, I wore them a lot this past winter and I have light hair too.

I love the tights with the outfit.

    Your outfit looks amazing!

Love this on you Deborah. I think the skirt works perfectly to lighten the look:)

    Thanks ladies.

Joy you are too kind.  I have never heard those tops referred to as shark bites:) The store called it a handerchief hem but I don't really think that is accurate.  I must admit this has not been my preferred hem style and I bought it thinking i would probably return it... but Im not:)

Karie, I have to thank you for introducing me to Beverly's blog.  Her style resonates so much with me and between her and Angie I can always find the inspiration I need.

Wow! You're a knockout in this outfit. Asymmetrical tops work really well on you and the skirt is just perfect! If I saw you on the street, I would think "there's a stylish, confident lady." Beautiful outfit for Monday.

LOVING THE HAIR!! Wow! So stick straight and oval at the same time.

And another killer outfit, Debs :)

    Your hair looks absolutely stunning!!

And as for your outfit, if this is how you welcome autumn, I can't wait for the leaves to fall! Love this top on you, and I think that the stripes in the skirt combined with your necklace, do enough to iighten the look. The tights are intentional and look beautifully rich with the booties.

I love how you get the proportions just right on these drapey tops. I like your version better --- it doesn't look like your top ran out of fabric ;-)

Gorgeous proportions (and hair), Deborah!  I think stripes add a sense of movement and energy to an outfit.  Love the skirt!

    Thank you :)
DV that's funny... I hadn't thought of it that way :)
Not that I needed much encouragement, but your positive comments did lead me to indeed pop out at lunch and grab another black one and a light grey.

    At last some cooler weather!
This looks great Deborah- I like the way you bring light to your almost all black outfits. Your hair colour becomes an accessory, and our eye is always drawn upwards.
I have been inspired by Beverly too!

    Wow!  Stunning!

You look great & need no improvement. If you feel you want more book ending, not that you need it, you could carry a beige bag.
