WIW : School Celebration Evening

When I was at school we called it Presentation Evening and its always on the evening of the last day of school before the summer/Christmas holidays.

Tonight was a milestone because of course Master 12 is leaving to start his high school years at another school next year.

It is HOT here, we are sweltering in hot humid weather. I didn't really want to wear much but wasn't 'feeling' my dresses today so opted for a jump suit I bought about a month ago.

Now you can be totally honest. I bought this on sale and paid only $20.00 for it. I really think that sizing up would have created more drape on the top, but probably too much fabric at the hips. The length is perfect for flat sandals, but the one's I am wearing here have a very small wedge so my ppl is a bit off. Then there is the wide leg. I really prefer tapered or skinny. So the reality is that I don't think this is really that figure flattering. So now I am on the lookout for a better quality jump suit with the design details that I think will work better for me.

But I don't mind it! Lol. I wore it with a sheer sleeveless vest to for a bit more coverage and to hide how big my hips look in this cut of pant:)

Master 12 said I looked nice so I felt that was good enough:)

Thanks for looking and commenting.

#2 is something I finished today! It's a "stick" or "branch" Christmas centrepiece. We collected the wood from the side of a road (we live in a regional area) and spray painted them. I'm exploring my more arty side and exercising that side of the brain at the moment :)

xxx Deborah

I really like the wide leg on you Deborah and I don't see that it makes your hips look wide. It looks great with Betty too.

    Cute stick tree!

Think it's a great piece (especially for the price:-)! Loved the trick with the sheer vest (thanx for the useful explanations:-)), will keep that in my mind!:-) Does not show like you needed it but I know what means a little layering piece for an even greater confidence!

Deborah - I think this is a beautiful outfit.  I did not notice any of your concerns.  When I saw the photo my only thought was that you have a beautiful shoulder line.  Very elegant!  Love your centerpiece.  Obviously exploring your artisitic side is a good thing (I would have to pony up the big bucks to have someone do that for me!).  Congrats to Master 12 and to you and DH for surviving the middle school years.  Honestly, I think the parents should be awarded a certificate of acheivement for that.  Enjoy!

Gryffin...we made it!! I agree, where is my certificate lol. You make me laugh because I usually have things like the centerpiece done for me also! I'm a former events manager so I always know someone who can do what I need lol. But I'm finding this very therapeutic and relaxing. It gets me off social media (which I spend too much time on) and Master 12 is very arty so it's an opportunity to do some more things together:).

You look awsome in the outfit, I see no hip issues. Master is right.
I Love your branch tree. Its very creative.

    You look fab, Deb!

Love the branch centerpiece....so pretty <3

Great outfit Deborah! And like Gryffin what I noticed was your strong shoulder line. The combination of the sleeveless top and deep v neck really suits you. Nicely balanced by the wide leg pants.

Very creative centrepiece and congrats to you and your family on the big event.

    That outfit is super fabulous!
    Lovely centerpiece as well.

I like this on you.  I think your bare arms (which look great by the way) and the v-neck balance the wide leg pants.

Congrats also on surviving the middle school years.  They are tough.

Master 12 was right, you do look good.

What a great buy. I didn't notice the wide legs when I first looked at the photo, only when I read your description. It's a cute outfit and your belt works here, too. The stick tree looks beautiful.

You look fabulous. I especially like this piece with your belt. Your creativity comes out in your outfits. I like how the star on the stick tree draws one's attention Without being at the top of the tree.

I think the jumpsuit looks good on you. The belt and vest are good additions.

Your Xmas decoration reminds me of the tumbleweed Christmas trees people make around here.  I attached a couple photos I found on-line that are very typical (although I've never seen one with a cowboy boot before).
