WIW : Petites Can Wear Midis:)

Hi Ladies, 

New job is going well and while it's been a slow start (induction, training etc) it looks like it's going to be a very busy and interesting role:)

I have been looking forward to wearing this jacket but had to wait until it was cold enough.  It's a new Metalicus jacket and is a heavy ponte fabric.  It has drape but holds it's shape perfectly and is incredibly warm in my cold office.

Outfit is:
Metalicus Chios Washed Jacket in Navy
Laura Ashley draped midi skirt
Rockmans sleeveless jersey draped top
Wittner Pumps

I think this is a repeatable outfit.  What say you.  Proportions working for you?

    Yes, you should definitely repeat, Deborah.  The proportions are spot on, and you've proved the rule on midis for petites - lovely.

    Deborah - this is so a lovely elegant outfit!!  I have one midi sheath dress.  I have the same thoughts.  It needs bare legs or sheers and a heel to make it work best.  plus a 3/4 sleeve cropped jacket.  I find exactly those proportions most flattering.  Something about leg with neck and forearm plus pointy toe that brings it all into perfect balance.  Just fab!!

    Agreeing, this is a lovely look Deborah. The tapered midi looks great, it flatters your new shape very well and combined with the blue jacket and pumps you have created a classy and professional look. You've done very well today and I'm glad to read the new job is working out well.

    Have to admit... never thought I'd see Laura Ashley and Deborah in the same sentence.  I just can't get past the flowers - but I guess she has ;)

    Daring to say, even though I haven't been around that long, that this has to be one of your best outfits ever. It's still bold and high design but completely flattering.

    I had no idea you were petite.   I always imagine you being around 5'6", maybe a little taller.  You really nailed the proportions in this look!

    Hi Deborah!  Thank you for sharing your photos.  Anything "petite" catches my eye.  Fantastic outfit ensemble!  You look fantastic!  Yes, love the midi length! I checked out your "finds" too just now...looking to see what a fellow hourglass petite has gathered....funny, I have the same Land's End dress from last year in your "finds".  I bought the pink one last year.. It was a favorite of mine last year with it's mid-length too.

    Lyn D this is not current season.  I bought it on line from the outlet so if I recall correctly this was the previous Autumn / Winter season.  It was a bit of a punt having not actually seen the jacket IRL but I am so pleased.  I just LOVE the way it falls and fits.  I think I got it for $29.00 down from $189.00... I do rather like a bargain:)  I am hoping to do a Metalicus shop in June so will have to see if you are free and maybe we can shop and do lunch again at Chadstone:)

    Yep.  I'd still have to stand next to you to believe you aren't 5'7" or 5'8".  This outfit has perfect proportions and fit.  The blend of colors is rich and interesting, but still has the modern edge that is your signature.  Beautiful!
