WIW : Out of Chaos!

Happy Sunday Fab Ones!

For the first time in a long time, this morning was chaos! I hadn't planned my outfit but often find I no longer need to. What struck me as particularly funny was that the there was a mound of black clothing on my bed when I left the house and of course I was wearing black... seriously... how could it be that hard lol

I was doing the welcome and announcements at Church this morning. I wouldn't say I get nervous, but I do take it very seriously. I count it a privilege to be asked to do these things and have a very strong sense of doing it properly. So I was extremely well prepared but hadn't thought about what to wear on the platform 'duh'.

You have seen the dress before, but I often change around the toppers (and I realise it probably doesn't look that different to last time despite that, but that is how variety works for me).

This is my Metalicus Plaza Drape Dress topped with a Portmans long tail jersey cardigan, opaque tights and my new boots, which made me feel very tall and they are super comfortable.

This worked well and I felt good. We have large screens in the church and I felt the outfit was sleek and not distracting when looking at it on the screen. But I think I will be back for advice. I am speaking this Thursday to a local church group and in a month I am preaching at two church services... and after this morning I will most certainly be planning what I will wear.

I feel I have eliminated the stress of day to day dressing, even event dressing but these church things still stress me out a bit :)

Thanks for looking, and reading. Suggestions, critiques, etc always wonderful to hear.

xxx Deborah

#3 is the pile of clothing I am about to go and put away!!

PS... #4 new earrings I ordered on line. Sterling silver to replace a pair a little similar that I lost. I am applying the one in, one out policy to accessories as well. These arrived and two other pairs are out :)

You look gorgeous, and I have those earrings!  (I even bought them from Australia, off of etsy).

This looks really good imo. The boots add to the sleekness :)

Deb, I really like the outfit - you wear drape with the best of them! Chaos or not but you look poised and beautiful.

The drape on that dress is divine. Love your new earrings and booties too!

Lol at the mound of black clothes :D .... I think it was good you took your time to choose because you look lovely with drapey fab dress and cardi.

    And pretty earrings!

The outfit is quietly stunning on you, Deborah. I know that heap of clothes on the bed kind of morning. It's a frantic feeling. Glad you persevered to find the right combination. It's nice to hear the new boots had a successful debut!

You are looking smashing in the boots! Good find.

Oh, I just love this outfit. The drape on drape is a beautiful combination, your new booties look great, and the subtle accent with silver earrings is perfect..

You've really found your groove, Deborah. 'Sleek' is the first word that came to my mind too and that's not always easy to achieve with drapey clothes. I have to admit that the pile of clothes on the bed is a common occurrence in my house too!

Ditto what Sharon said, sleek was the first word that came to mind. Great combo of pieces to make an outfit and the boots are the perfect finishing touch.

This is so fab!  Cast all of your worries aside, you look terrific.  It sounds like you are a prominent member of your church, so keep doing what you're doing.  They love you and your style, would be my guess!

A great outfit.......I do love that dress :) and your new boots and earrings are perfect.

Thank you ladies:). Hopefully this morning runs a bit smoother. I can see this dress becoming a go to piece, particularly as the weather warms up.

The dress is fantastic for you Deborah- your height seems to be just right for the length. (I tried 2 new season Metalicus dresses, and both were too short for warm-weather bare legs for me )

LOL at the bed-pile- it is like coming home to a sink full of dishes- but somedays unavoidable!

    Love the new boots here.

I love the silhouettes of these pieces, Debs. The new boots are perfect.
