WIW : One Grey

Not shoes, but a sweater :)

I have found the discussions on wearing greys together really interesting and will be playing with tonal mixes in the coming weeks. I am also keen to get more wear of my pewter (greyish tones) boots but that's another story.   But for today I kept it simple.  Also wearing a pair of higher shaft ankle boots which I bought early in our winter - they finish about an inch and a half above the ankle bone.

Worn today to have lunch with a friend and to try on my the new Motto Skirted Leggings which look great and have been put on layby.  Should have them next week :)  Can't wait to show you.

Jacket : Motto Coated Jersey
Grey Metallic Sweater: Suzanne Grae
Ponte Leggings : Target
Ankle Boots : Serra

Thanks for looking and suggestions for improvement appreciated.

xxx Deborah

I love it.  My favorite color combination is becoming black, grey, and white.  It looks so sophisticated.

Thanks Sterling.  I am finding grey is a lovely addition to my wardrobe and like you black, grey and white is fast becoming a fave.

Beautiful Deb. Very classy. I love the layering going on and the silvery grey suits you so well.

The coolness of the gray really brightens up your outfit, and the color looks good on you.

Great look! I love that sweater. And I think the little peek of white against the black and grey really makes this outfit. :)

    Once again, masterful layering!

    Perfect combo. Effortless casual chic!

I think I will copy this when I go to NY with the NAS jacket I have yet to wear below. Thanks for the great inspiration as always!

Fabulous outfit on you, Deborah. The sweater has a bit of elegance.

One grey looks best to my eye. Killer.

Great combination!  I love grey, white, and black together. You've done it amazingly well.  While I like both pictures, I actually like the outfit better without the jacket so that you can really see the sweater.

Striking! Looking forward to your playing with greys and the motto leggings.

    As usual you look lovely.

I slightly prefer the sweater without the jacket, it looks very elegant. With the jacket I think I would prefer just one layer underneath. Just an idea, I think it might be cleaner. However it is very good as is too.

I do adore both that jacket and the sweater, you do pick up some great pieces at very reasonable stores!!

I like it both with and without the jacket.

Lovely as always Deborah! My first thought was "woah so much light!" even though it's still mostly black and gray isn't light light ;) Really looking forward to seeing how you play with tonal mixes featuring more gray.

This is beautiful. As others have said - classy, elegant, effortless all come to mind. I prefer this without the jacket for daytime but love the extra edge the jacket gives - perhaps appropriate for a night on the town.

Looking good Deborah as Angie would say - Rock On :) I like the way you have the white piece in the photo with the knit - there is less of it showing & it's all at the front of your body.

  • Beth Ann replied 8 years ago

So elegant -- the white base layer is lovely under the grey and against the black.

  • catgirl replied 8 years ago

Oh the jacket! This is quite light and bright, as Aida said. Your hair helps with that too - with darker hair it might feel too goth. Love it.

Great look, I must copy this!

I have to admit that I personally have at least 5 grey/silver tops so clearly I'm a thumbs up for this color . This lovely silver color is a great tea seasonal colour.

One grey-with a peak of white- and all looks so fresh and fab!!:-)

I have to tell you how much i love your WIWs. You have such a dramatic signature style that i love - but you somehow still manage to keep it comfortable! Love this - the drape of the sweater particularly.
