WIW: Now For Something Different :)

Hi Fabbers,

It is a stunning Sundy afternoon here and I am thinking that sitting outside and getting some Vitamin D while enjoying a good book might be just the ticket for an hour or so.

I wore this outfit to church this morning. Felt like a change from the skinny leg silhouette so reached for my wide leg black pants. I think they must be about 8 years old and are still in brilliant condition and hopefully are so plain they don't look dated. Next is a top that I usually wear under a blazer for work but I decided to let go of my tummy issues today and am wearing it without a topper. The top is from Asos and just drapes everywhere... I really like it... oh and did you notice... it's not black ;)

Just for the record I do normally wear a bit of tummy control brief with this top but they were all in the wash :( I also ruche the band of the top a bit but forgot for the pic.

Thanks for looking and any suggestions for improvement would be fantastic :)

xxx Deborah

I honestly see no need for tummy control and love the color and cut of you top and the wide trousers and think you look just gorgeous!

Shevia, thank you. You are very sweet. Trust me my tummy needs all kinds of control :)

  • Caro in Oz replied 10 years ago

I absolutely agree with shevia. I love the blue on you Deborah, great outfit

    Love this, YLF.

This is a fabulous outfit, and your tummy looks just fine. I very much like the black with the blue.

You look wonderful & I don't see any need for tummy control, even in the close ups! The draping disguises whatever might be there (though I'm skeptical there's much there to begin with, lol).

Great draping on the top and you look lovely in that dark blue!

Oh my Deb - I love the simplicity of this outfit and the delicious mix if navy and black. Gorgeous drape on that top.

WoW - that blue color is so pretty on you!  Your skin is just glowing!  I also  think that the top drapes beautifully - and works so well with the flowy pants.  Very nice outfit!

    I like the drape!
Nearly had me thinking 'Black Again' Deborah until I read and looked a little closer :)
Yes, a perfect day for perusing a good book.

I do not see any tummy issues. The top is great.

Very elegant, Deborah. I think the top looks great as is.

Such a good relaxing in the sun outfit....but I imagine being sooo warm in those dark colors.  Is it ink blue?

  • Debra replied 10 years ago

What a fabulous top and I love it with the wide leg trousers.
So very drapey and luscious, very elegant in deed. :)

There are no tummy issues that I can see! That top is absolutely gorgeous, and it pairs fantastically with those trousers - I don't think it looks dated at all.

That top is stunning in the way it drapes. What a lovely elegant outfit; Very sumptuous! No tummy issues spotted either. Enjoy your vitamin D :)

Love the colour combination and that top is divine on you.  Hope you enjoyed your little R&R in the sun with your book.

Lovely outfit. I am swooning over that top. You always look so elegant.

  • Neel replied 10 years ago

I have to agree with aquamarine. Elegant is the word :). Oddly, while I was packing for my trip today, I thought of you! I had laid out blues and blacks and didn't know I had so many of them! I also realized how easy it was to work with those two colors as the base. I threw in some whites, grays and burgundies and I was done :)

Love the blue and the draping... Some materials make us all need tummy control!

  • Astrid replied 10 years ago

You look great! The pants look perfectly modern and I don't see any tummy issues either. Love the blue and black together.

  • Shirley replied 10 years ago

You wear the drapy top well. No need for tummy control.

  • Sveta replied 10 years ago

You wear drape-y tops with the best of them! I also don't see any need for a tummy control here :-)
I love you in black but I am glad you are venturing out into blues lately: they look stunning on you and work great with the black.

Beautiful outfit, and you look fab in it, Deborah. I love the ink blue top, with its draped details. The top's fitted hemline is perfect with those trousers.
Wearing a top without a topper is different for me, too--I often feel a little under-dressed somehow. Bravo for going with different today!

  • shedev replied 10 years ago

    Love that top.

  • JG replied 10 years ago

As always, you look smashing. I'm sure the outfit looks great with its usual topper, but the drape of the top in back is an unexpected delight.
