WIW : (New) Motto Draped Jacket ;)

Hi Fabbers,

Now that Motto has come to my town I am going to have to exercise a great deal of self control lol.  They share a very similar aesthetic to Metalicus.  Great washable fabrics, drape, comfort and everything goes with everything.  Thankfully, they do a lot of pattern which makes it easier for me to resist.

This jacket came into my closet recently and two similar, but not quite perfect ones exited.

I wore this to work today.  I only had to go in for a couple of hours to a meeting, and was meeting a friend for coffee first, so I wanted smart but comfy and didn't feel the need for a 'blazer'.  Our weather is warming slowly.  15 degrees today but quite mild so wore pumps and not stockings wohoo!

The jacket can be worn open or fastened at one or both shoulders.  I have worn it fastened on one shoulder with a peek of a white top underneath.  I am really enjoying the ladylike but still edgy vibe of the sharp pointed toe pumps and think I may need to add another pointed toe pump to my spring / summer wardrobe... hmm but what colour?

Thanks for looking.  And I want to say thank you for always being so kind and encouraging. I know I kind of wear the same thing all the time, and wear a very limited colour palette which possibly seems a bit "samey" every WIW.  I really appreciate that you 'get me'.

xxx Deborah

You look stunning, Deb! I love the shoes with this drapey motto. I'd add with a cobalt blue, patterned blue or grey shoe - those will work very well with the rest of your wardrobe.

I really don't mind your samey WIWs because they never are the same! You might wear a limited colour palette, but the textures, drape and detail in your outfits is always different and interesting. I LOVE YOUR WIWS!

ETA: Adding some shoes. #3 in darker blue, navy or grey would be lovely. Even red may work for your wardrobe.

Maneera, than you!  Now that shoe is #1 is definitely my cup of tea!! Where is is from??  I think that is exactly what I want.  Black and white/grey abstract pattern.  Love it.

  • Cococat replied 9 years ago

Oh, I don't think you wear the same thing either. You know what suits you and you build around that. You always look amazing.

This is a great look. I adore those pumps. I've always considered pumps a little traditional...but you manage to add the edge....always! :)

All these shoes are from Dorothy Perkins, Deb. I know they deliver to Australia and might even have stores there.

Black and layers and drape. You absolutely own it. Deborah, you always look fab . I love seeing your WIW posts.

I really adore your style Deborah...you always look so elegant, polished and yet fun!
I'm a black, white piece lover and never tire of them ☺
Another stunning WIW and yes the #1 shoe that manny shared is a gorgeous gorgeous piece... I've tried it on and it's quite lovely!

Deborah - this is so pretty!  The way the sweater hooks makes the white top look like a ruffle.  Elegant and unexpected.  I am so loving pointy toe anything and what they do to the leg line too!!  I think your wardrobe is amazing fluid, how you can combine the pieces and actually almost never look like you are wearing the same thing.  I'm a big repeater so I am always amazed when people have the capacity to do that!!  Kudos!  Enjoy your beautiful new sweater!!

I really don't think anyone could be bored with your WIWs, as they are so creative. I love them.
This outfit looks great, as always. The drape looks fantastic with that little peak of white.
I must say, though I laughed at your 15 degrees. In Brisbane we were at 28 today lol. Back in a summer frock and sandals, no jacket even at 5.45 when I left the office!

You look so great, as always! I love how the line of white peeks out.

  • shedev replied 9 years ago

I especially like the sweater closed. I'm a little biased though because I have one that is similar. I don't think your WIWs look the same. You achieve a lot of looks within a limited color palette.

Killer to the power of Killer.

LOVE the white top and foot skin. Breaks up the black beautifully.

  • Suz replied 9 years ago

Absolutely beautiful. Like Angie I love the spec of white and skin -- and I also love Maneera's choice of shoes for you, wow!

  • lyn67 replied 9 years ago

Now, to be clear, your wiw's are never boring!!! AT ALL!

I'm too soft (and fleshy:-)) for all those drapes but I do have a big love for monochromatic darks and textures, which is beautifully represented in your closet, so you are always an fab RL inspiration, for me!

Love the new jacket (but feels more  kinda cascade cardi to me) does have a slub texture(?) and is also bit transparent(?) which means a more sophisticated  black to my eyes, not to speak about those artsy drapes! Big love for the shoes, and the outfit all together! Wow, again!

PS: Dare I say, you are slimmer each day, Debs, do you eat well?:-)

  • Cerinda replied 9 years ago

Signature, not same!  Your WIWs are always fun to see.  And, yes, inspiring.

    Great jacket!

  • catgirl replied 9 years ago

Love this with the white! It reminds me of this although I know they are not the same.

    Looks great!

This has to be one of my favourites of all of your posts . This is so feminine yet true to your core look. And quit wearing those shoes because it's making me sad that I don't have them. Nine West has this in a pointed toe version for fall but I'm scared to try them on- looks a little too pointy for my old feet :(

  • Deborah replied 9 years ago

Thank you lovely ladies! I worry sometimes that I might bite you lol, but I'm greatly encouraged.. thank you.

Lyn67 I eat well, I promise! I follow a high protein low carb diet and it's easy and I have never felt better. Plenty of food just no junk!!! That bit has been hard over winter lol

  • Deborah replied 9 years ago

Lisa try the Nine West shoes. You would rock an extreme point! Nine West and Wittner have become my go to for shoes. Excellent quality and their sale and outlet prices are fantastic!

  • replied 9 years ago

Your style is very stylized and precise but also draped, like the kimono dressed women in Japanese art.
It's amazing how you create these looks that are set just so, and yet you can move around and it will all still fall into place.
There are little refinements and subtle changes in proportions that make your outfits different.
I especially like the white underlayer and the anchoring effect of the white watch.

  • Caro in Oz replied 9 years ago

Never boring imo :) :)  The shoes & the white top really elevate this to wow.

  • Brooklyn replied 9 years ago

I love your wiws. You are so creative with your colour palette. I don't think they look the same at all. And of course this looks great. Love the one sided draping. So Creative!

  • Karie replied 9 years ago

I LOVE the white top peaking out from underneath!

  • replied 9 years ago

I love Nine West too. Pointed toes are tricky - I am trying to honour my feet and reduce the amount of time spent in pointed toes . I love the look but my feet aren't agreeing . I think I'll give them a try though and see how they are . They are one of very few brands that I can wear a pointed toe in. I have one bunion - so unattractive - and I don't want it to get any worse .

  • Deborah replied 9 years ago

Lisa, I understand;). Thankfully mine are very comfortable which makes them very wearable. I won't wear shoes my feet don't like ;)

  • Colette replied 9 years ago

Your outfits are so interesting and beautiful, they are like works of art and never boring. I don't always have the time to comment but I do look and admire your style and how each outfit is put together. It is very inspiring. This new jacket is beautiful. I love the texture and the slight sheer fabric. And yes, those shoes!

I want to copy this when the weather cools down, love white detail.
