WIW : Neice's Wedding

Hi Ladies,

Well the day finally arrived and I wanted to thank you for your help deciding on what to wear:) I was very happy with my outfit and the dress is just so comfortable. I felt as fresh in it at the end of the day as I did at the start.

A quick photo before we left for the 2 hour drive.

Given I wore red pumps and red necklace, I chose my black and cream bag as I didn't want too matchy matchy.

Didn't get a photo wearing it, but this is the trench I wore over the dress until the reception. It was very cold and the coat provided alot more warmth than I expected.
My old back trench was retired recently so this is a new purchase and it's first outing.

Outfit details:

Jacqui E Dress
Shoes of Prey Red Pumps
Diana Ferrari Bag
Limited Editions Trench
Red beads, Thrifted

Family photo. DH, MIL, Master 9 & Moi. I didn't realise until I looked at the photo that we were all quite well co-ordinated. It was DH's sister's daughter who was getting married.

Master 9 & Grandma. My MIL and I went shopping for her outfit a couple of weeks earlier and instead of going to her usual shops she was keen for me to take her somewhere a little more modern:) She is wearing black pants, flat shoes, a black and white pussy bow blouse and red jacket with ribbon trim, both from Noni B. Her bag is a LV inspired cherry bowling bag, which she loves and uses all the time. I thought she looked lovely and she was complimented on her outfit by a number of people during the day. Red is her favorite color, and at 84 she still LOVES clothes.

Thanks for looks, and again thanks for helping pull it all together:)

xxx Deborah

Deborah, you look perfect. I'm with CJH and am looking forward to seeing your new jacket.

Does Master 9's numeration change each year as he has birthdays? I love that nickname.

Deborah, you look so amazing and stylish and I loved "meeting" your family and must say that together you brought a fantastic, coordinated look. I hope your niece, her now-husband and everyone had fun at the reception.

You look beautiful in your outfit and I love your family portrait. You should be very proud!

  • Deborah replied 11 years ago

Wow thanks for your kind and lovely words about my outfit and my family. They are awesome! My MIL is such an incredible woman. She worked most of her adult life in the commuity sector and is still very committed to her local community as well as overseas projects. My mum lives nearly 3 hours away and I am really blessed to have my MIL close, we get on extremely well, share a lot in common and as much as I love my own mum, MIL and I are quite similar, my Mum and I are very different :)

DH was getting over the flu so it was a long day for him. He was the MC for the Reception, and Master 9 was a little legend. There were only two other children a the wedding, one in the wedding party and the other a toddler, so Master 9 occupied himself, chatted to people and was a joy.

Yes pil each February Master 9's number rolls over:)

May I say that prior to YLF, I would have worn this dress with sheer black hose, black pumps, black handbag and black coat... you have brought light and color to my life:) Thank you :)

  • Jonesy replied 11 years ago

Gorgeous! I love that you are now wearing some red, Deborah! Hubby is looking quite sharp despite getting over the flu, your MIL looks fab (and what a gift to get along so well with her!), and Master 9 is looking delightful in his sneakers and racing jacket.

WoW! You look fabulous. Thanks for sharing such lovely pics of the day - looks like it was wonderful!

What fun to see the whole family! You all look terrific! My mom has great style, too, and relies on me to help her cull through older items and make the best choices.
