WIW: My Signature Look?

Hi Ladies,

Followed yesterday's formula and wore this to a Fashion Festival meeting today.

Black Ponte Skinny Leg Pants

White Satin Pleat Neck Blouse

Black Boucle Long Jacket

Booties

Grey & Black Scarf

& red / orange bag

Vintage Beads

I like this but was concerned the white made it all a little bland? I also worry that the white makes me look a little big! I know i probably just need to "get over it":) I added the scarf when outdoors. It was nice to not need a coat.

Suggestions etc always appreciated.

Thank you for looking

xxx Deborah

I really love your outfit with the scarf! It makes it pop, and the pattern adds structure. It is a bit hard to tell from the picture, but I think the textures makes it interesting enough even without the scarf (the satin shines more than the pants, right?). The necklace and bag are both very interesting and beautiful pieces.

I don't think I have any suggestions, this is a very successful outfit the way I see it.

I have to admit out, your signature look is fab on you. The white just makes the whole thing pop. I like the longer cardigan, the slim bottom, and the sparkle you added. This is gonna be killer with that bag! you score a 10 from me!

I don't think the white is bland when you add that red bag or even an orange as you mentioned.

I have the same concerns when building an outfit around blacks, seldom feel for whites to pair it with, but your fab bag makes it to work for sure, and, wow, that long BOUCLÉ jacket!!!! the textures can help, too.

Classic polished lady who looks a knock out in black and white!

Nothing 'big' about this apart from the style score!
Fantastic touch with the beads to break-up the white, and the red bag adds extra pizazzz.

Love it with the scarf and bag. The formula works but if you don't mind me suggesting, try a blouse/top with a more open neckline. Otherwise, with the voluminous coat and voluminous looking blouse, it's overwhelming you a bit. Just looking like a lot of fabric on little you, does that make sense? When you add the scarf, is works really well though.

I have seen long Boucle jackets like yours at Zara, they look so versatile. Like a stylish classic. They call them "fantasy fabric jackets" and you know, it *is* a fantasy that most of us would ever own a Chanel jacket, so I get it!

Denise I don't mind at all. I have been wanting two white blouses. One with this neckline and another as you suggest but it needs to be flowy and I love satin:). I'm still looking for the open neck one:(. Maybe thats what I'm seeing when I think the white makes me look big, perhaps it's just there is so much of it.

The jacket isnt a true boucle but I think it's the best way to describe it. I have had it for years! It's Chanel-esque vibe is what attracted me to it.

This is quite lovely, Deborah. Denise does have some interesting suggestions that would be fun to try, but this also works as is (especially with the scarf).

Your formula always works Deborah and of course, you look lovely. I do like Denise's suggestion of a more open necked white blouse with this. Your red bag is absolutely dreamy and you always choose the most beautiful accessories.

Denise is a genius and so are you. Your formula is gorgeous on you, Deborah! And I love your new bag. You always have such quality looking accessories to add to the luxe feel of your outfits.

Deborah this is a beautiful outfit and certainly very *you*! The white shirt does not in any way make you look big!!! And I love the outfit with the scarf. Along the lines of Denise's suggestion, what about a somewhat oversized white button down? Would work with that black and red striped midi too! :)

Wow. So chic! I love this on you. Congrats on having a signature style. I think once we identify that, it makes things easier.

Thanks ladies! I will try a statement collar necklace with this blouse next time. Had a play last night and I think it may just break it up a bit as the blouse is sleeveless and I will be wearing it in warmer weather and a scarf will be too hot:)

I like this outfit! With a longer jacket like this I sometimes like to try rolling or scrunching the sleeves and/ or arranging a scarf at a more elongated drape point. You have great pieces to play with!

I really like it in #2 with the scarf! Without the scarf, yes I think the white is a bit too strong. Perhaps a printed top that's white based instead of solid white?
