WIW : More EF Harem Styling:)

Hi Fabbers,

I wore my EF Harems to church this morning. I must admit I was somewhat uninspired.  Feeling a little tired and unmotivated today but nothing a nice nap on the couch with the sun streaming in can't fix lol.

I think I have only posted one EF Harem outfit so far but I am having fun playing with tops and proportions.  Today I wore:

#1 - #4
EF Harem Pants
Metalicus Metallic Open Weave Sweater
(layered a cotton tank in navy under it)
Target Shooties

I know there are quite a few ladies with these pants, and also other versions of the harem pant, and many of us have questioned styling options.  Do we need to start a thread to share how we have styled ours??  I for one would love all the inspiration in one place.

Thanks for looking
xxx Deborah

Those pants are so cool. You style it so well and look so elegant.

I"m so tempted to try some . Not sure how it would suit my apple shape.

  • Deborah replied 8 years ago

Thanks Sally:)  For your info, I am a bit of mix between an hourglass and an apple in that I do have a tummy and I am short :)  Worth a try if you like the look, they are so comfortable too.

Super outfit. Looks luxe and classy. Did you consider adding a necklace? Great idea about the separate thread. I wouldn't mind one on cropped jeans!

  • Deborah replied 8 years ago

Thanks Brooklyn:)  I did consider a necklace but I seem to be heading down quite a minimalist road at the moment:)

This is a winning combo, Deborah! I really like the airiness of the sweater, paired with the volume of the harems. It's such a chic and flattering look. I've worn similar proportions with my harems, I think, but not with an open-weave sweater. And I like the blue and black together. (I have an open-weave blue sweater, so will have to try it with my black harem pants.)
A separate harem-pant thread could be useful--good idea!

I think this is inspired Deborah. We both love black n blue, lol, and this sweater looks sublime on you. Let's do start a thread!

That's a gorgeous metallic blue top. You always look terrific - nothing unmotivated in your outfits!
I hope you had a lovely nap, too.

If this is you 'uninspired' Deborah, I now understand why you always look so stunningly fabulous! The sweater-cami pairing is fantastic; the neckline on that sweater is just perfect on you. I imagine this outfit would also work in warmer weather paired with strappy or open-weave sandals.

I too have a very oversize, drapey top that I often pair my harems with. What makes the look work for me is the loose hem of the top, like the one you're wearing here. Otherwise, I tend towards more fitted toppers.

I love your idea of starting a thread. I was searching for Firecracker's rendition the other day and it would be nice to have all our harem looks in one place, especially for these harder-to-style EF ones.

    Oh, oh, oh!

    :)

My exact thoughts when I saw your title. I love this... That sweater is amazing, have we seen it before?

And I was thinking the exact same thing about a harem thread. I did a lot of searching for inspiration pics, and while I found a lot, I know I missed some. Putting them all in one place would be great. Would also be great if it were a thread that didn't die... Was less about feedback/comments that people are hesitant to bump, and more a catalogue of styling ideas, even if those ideas come up six months from now. KWIM?

So how about I start a new thread tomorrow say end of day my time which I think should be Monday morning in the Northern Hemisphere.

For those who are interested perhaps mark it 'favourite', I will call it something like YLF Harem Pant Stylings and then we can find it whenever we want some inspiration, or to add new styling photos.

I would love to see this kind of thread - and as Elizabeth suggested, done in such a way that it's not going to die a slow death into the forum archives. Never mind for harems, it could be really useful for a few other items too.

Anyways  - I'm not a wearer  - yet - but I am following this harem styling with great interest. I think I could do this version, with the waist highlighted yet blurred over with a loose weave sweater.  I'm intrigued about the lack of jewellery too - and your response: feeling very minimal  are you?

Fab stuff Deb! Love the mesh sweater next to the heavier black and the soft drape.

I've never worn harem pants, Deborah, but they look wonderful on you.  Mostly, though, I love that gorgeous sweater.

    Beautiful outfit Deborah!

I love seeing the harem pants stylings, and this look is terrific!  The blue sweater is great with the harems.

    Killer

LOVE the blue with the black. Gorgeously alluring top too.

The more postings I see, the more I'm tempted to try a pair of harem pants. They look so great but I'm not sure I'm ready.....but they are in my head now!

The outfit is lovely - I love the black and the blue.

Just like you told Janet you see flattering where she sees JFE, I see inspired where you apparently see uninspired!  The open weave of the sweater is especially appealing.  I wore my harems yesterday to work with a fit and flare EF tunic - it looked very Indian. :)

Great plan Deborah, I'll go dig up my options and create a new one I've been planning ;-)

  • rachylou replied 8 years ago

    So so cool :)

Thanks ladies for your kind words. I am so happy with these harem pants. If only our weather would cool down I think they will get a lot of wear:)

I will have the Harem thread up tonight my time. Cannot wait to be inspired xx
