WIW : Metalicus but Navy!

Hi Ladies,

With my new job and it being Winter, there is no light when I leave and it's dark when I get home, so I am going to have work on my indoor lighting - my apologies for the quality of the pics.  Any advice on camera settings for inside at night??  I have a Nikon 5100.

Work outfit today:
Metalicus Navy Jacket
Metalicus Triangle Tank (worn backwards)
L.Linda Coated Skinny Pants
Hush Puppy Ankle Boots

This is a tricky jacket to wear so I tried to keep it simple.  I prefer it over a skinny pant, it doesn't quite work to my eye over a skirt.  It is a clever jacket and can be 'adjusted' so that that the length at the back is still draped but shorter!!   The pants are coated and give off a bit of leather vibe (I am very into the leather look at the moment:} ).

The tank is designed to be worn either way.  The proper front is shorter than the back, and the neckline is lower, so I wore it the over way round for more coverage and so that the longer length would be a the front and provide some length to (hopefully) complement the drape of the jacket.

I haven't worn the jacket much yet because I have been working out the best styling for it.  How did I do.  Does this work to your eye?

Thanks for taking a look.
xxx Deborah

Deborah - it's very difficult to see detail but it looks wonderful to me.  Love the back of the jacket, very stunning.    I often wear my tanks back to front - it's a fab trick.  Also navy/black combo so elegant!

I have no problem on my laptop seeing the details :) I think it all works beautifully. Love the drapes on that jacket.

This looks wonderful as always...I applaud your style wearing navy and black...Great combination and great look...
You are having winter now and when I read your posts, I think winter is such a long time off...For some reason, I am stuck in the concept of summer...more than usual...Enjoy your cool days...

Love those pants especially!!  Dark colors are so hard to photograph well for detail.

Do you have an external flash for your Nikon? I have a similar camera  (the D7100) and the external flash is so much better than the pop up one. You can tilt the flash up and you get a nice bounce of the light instead of directly in your face.

dakotacheryl, I don't have an external flash:(. I might have to resort to reading the manual lol;)

Gorgeous as always Deborah.  I can see how this jacket could be tricky, but well worth the effort!  Wearing the tank this way is perfect.

Great outfit Deborah. The jacket is fabulous. The back angle showed the detail very well. I do like navy and black.

I have been wearing my coated black jeans quite a lot this Winter. They make me feel a bit rocker chick...lol

Love the navy/black combo and you look as perfectly polished as you always do. Can't' really make out details in pic#1 re length and drape of the jacket and tank, but it looks great from the back view. Really loving your wardrobe this winter.

    Gorgeous as usual.

The layering we can see in #3 is awesome. Your style is consistent and always amazing.

The jacket is lovely and well worth the extra effort. I like the addition of your white watch and the pendant necklace to add a little light.

    This looks really good.

It's all brilliant! Including navy and black together (I think your cool ice blonde hair makes it work even better) and  backside to front on the tank is genial:-). Oh, and thanx again for the side view! The drape is  high enough, so not dragging down(ifd you know what I mean:-)), which  I often have trouble with when trying on these drapey clothes.

Looks great to me. I love that little pendant. Joy is right, it adds adds a lovely bit of light.

Navy and black works so well together.
Keeping it plain with this lovely jacket is the key- spot-on again Deborah!

    Thank you ladies!

Lisa, I am really enjoying my winter wardrobe:)  I am also enjoying working in an environment that is dressier, it's fun to play with more office appropriate looks and be able to bring my aesthetic to them.

Lyn, the black and navy combo is one i am really enjoying.  I have two navy/blue jacket and about 4 or 5 tops but I could see that growing lol.
