WIW : Lace Mixing

Hi Fabbers,

For someone who is not a huge fan of lace, today I mixed two items with lace:)

Motto have had a fabulous Christmas sale on and I have to confess I have purchased three new things:

#4  the Orbit Belt

#5  Lace Pant (it's a skirted legging - I am obsessed with the skirted legging)

#6  Wild 70's Coat from our Winter.  The picture really does not do it justice.  It is a really cool abstract pattern and it looks like a long blazer only in a soft jersey fabric.  

Anyway, today I wore the lace pant, with a dress length jersey cami layered over them so you just get a hint of the lace asymmetric hemline and then a lace jacket over that.  I was in air conditioning all day :) 

I wonder if perhaps a sandal without an ankle strap might have been better so as not to have two horizontal lines across my ankle but I kind of liked it so didn't change.

Thanks for looking, it's a more fitted silhouette than my norm so do you think it's ok?

    You look beautiful. Love the 2 lace layers. I hope the powers that be at motto are taking note of your skills.
    I don't know about the shoes. I think I would prefer no strap but I am a bit anti ankle strap (I hardly ever wear them) so beware my views on this!

    I love the shoes with it. Yes its more fitted than you usual style, which shows off your stunning figure. Well done, all your efforts has paid off, you look stunning.

    I love the look of the Wild 70's coat, is this for this winter? I couldn't find it on the website. I was just thinking today that I need a longline jersey jacket/cardi. I don't suppose it comes in plain black - otherwise thats what you would have bought?

    Carol, it's from this winter past. There was a similar black version but I think it sold out:(. I missed out on that one. I think there will be more coming so worth keeping an eye open x

    The lace skirted leggings are a real wow piece. I love them and your outfit. I like the sandals withthe strap extending the leg in ankle pants.

    I really really like the lace and the more fitted silhouette on you. You can carry off both the drapey and fitted look. The sandals do work with the outfit but seem to draw the eye down and away from the lace.  I like them but you could always try the outfit with different shoes to see if you like them better.

    OMG, was off for a few days, and have had to return for your fab texture rich, layered fabness which your outfit is! Super  idea with the maxi cami over the lace skirted leggings-was it your own???? Just curious about the reasons of doing this very exact layering as I would have never ever guessed to do it like here for the life of me-yet looks so very stylish and original!!! I'm impressed, as always!!

    I love the lace layer peeking out.  I would never have thought to layer like that.  That lace skirt would have completely stumped me.  I love the new belt and I'm looking forward to seeing the new coat in an outfit.

    Lyn67, you are so kind.  Yes it was my idea to layer the long cami over the leggings.  I am not big on lace and was thinking about how to minimise the amount of lace showing but still have the feature of the lace asymmetric hemline. Anyway what I really did was have a play and try on tops and see what happened lol. Really glad you like it.
