WIW: Keeping It Neutral

Happy Friday! (in my part of the world anyway) :)

Off to my women's bible study group followed by some bra shopping;)

I actually didn't feel like color today and wanted to keep it simple and relatively streamlined.

Black booties
Straight leg jeans
Polka dot blouse
Belted Sleeveless trench
Grey toned scarf

Have a lovely day and as always your suggestions and thoughts are really appreciated.

xxx Deborah

Does that jacket have polka dot sleeves? I LOVE it!

    Happy bra hunting!

Love that sleeveless trench Deb! What a fantastic layering piece with your beautiful blouses and sweaters. I love your "simple" look - although to my eyes, it's anything but simple!

Wow, you look gorgeous! But then again, you always do. I wore my nude boots today, so I was hoping for more taupe boot inspiration from you today too! I have to second what Shannon said. Your "simple" looks are always layered and interesting, in other words, not simple at all. Your flawless execution of them makes them appear simple!

Love the whole neutral/black vibe. Sheer gorgeousness and very stylish lady.

Well now this is just lovely! I just can't get over how amazing a soft blouse looks underneath that sleeveless trench, so so good. And you know I love it best with all the layering :D

Love this look! Sometimes neutrals are the way to go and there's nothing wrong with that! :)

That sleeveless trench looks so fab with the polka dot sleeves form the blouse showing!
You look so great in black and white- I wouldn't blame you if you wore it every day.

Just one question: with the sleeveless coat, do your arms get cold?

Love the sleeves of the blouse with the sleeveless tank. Nothing wrong with neutrals!

I love that sleeveless trench. What a clever, clever piece. It adds such interest. And the scarf is gorgeous, too!

Very nice! All bundled up :)

    Thank you ladies:)

RunnerRae, thanks and bra shopping was successful but somewhat painful! Four new bras in a variety of sizes...some regulation to sizing would be incredibly helpful:)

Shannon, thank you, this is really quick and easy formula for me.

k Can Shop, your kind words were so lovely to read. I was planning o. Wearing my boots again today but our weather is rainy and I didn't want to risk ruining the suede:). Locking your booties, haven't had a chance to comment yet but I am thrilled it appears you are keeping them.

citygirldc, I could wear black everyday lol in fact before YLF I did!

Aida I very much relate to your love of layering. It's such a comfortable feel and look.

Christy knew you would understand my need for neutrals...love your casual look today..wow.

Parsley black and white is on pretty regulation rotation:). And yes my arms do get cold so I only wear the trench once we hit a certain temp. And it stays on, it's not outerwear as such.

    Shevia..thank you:)

Suz, thank you. It is a great piece and probably doesn't get worn as much as it should. It works equally as well over skirts too.

Angie, thank you for popping in;). It is much appreciated particularly given how busy you are with clients at the moment x

Well Deborah, another freezing day in Victoria!
I really like the trench- does it have a collar? Can't tell on the laptop pic.
I tend to stockpile my bras after buying them on sale and stick to the brand that fits, hoping that they don't stop making them any time soon.
Will finally be able to check out the Rockmans emerald stripe shirt tonight and will report back to you.

  • Deborah replied 11 years ago

Pretty cold here too Lyn:). The trench does have a collar but its hidden by the scarf I think. Lyn I hate bra shopping is I did buy 4 new ones today which hopeful will keep me going awhile. Can't wait to hear about the stripe shirt. Of you try it on take some pics:)

I love that sleeveless trench. I have been eyeing a sleeveless peacoat styled vest and I think I see how I can make it work now.

  • krishnidoux replied 11 years ago

Sweeeet! I thought at first it was a coat but then I read it's a sleeveless trench with your blouse popping through, it is so so stylish!

  • TraceyLiz65 replied 11 years ago

Fabulous! Who needs color? You are rocking the blue/black trend. Make that your story and stick to it being a purposeful choice. Happy Bra shopping! Had a chuckle over bible study & bra shopping.....

This is a elegant look Deborah! I love how the trench adds structure to the soft blouse. Hope you get some warmer sunny weather soon!

  • Jilly replied 11 years ago
