WIW : Its Spring.. hand me that dress :)

Hi Lovely Ladies,

Yes we are experiencing our second proper Spring day today!  Started the day with a spring in my step and went off with a friend to start styling outfits for an upcoming fashion (recycle) parade fund raiser that I am co-ordinating... only to have to wrap it up early as I think my beloved, and now recovered, Master 12, has shared his bug with me.

So as I type, I am snug in my bed about to try and sleep it off.

Spring says dresses to me do today I wore:

Wishstone Draped Dress
Blue Illusion Knit Draped Vest
Leggings ???
Rivers Ankle Boots
Serra Leather Back Pack

This dress reminds me of the Eileen Fisher Lantern dress #2 {I am obsessed with everything EF at the moment despite not owning any:) }  and I enjoy wearing a slightly different silhouette for a change.  I need new cropped leggings as these ones are a bit too short.

And after seeing the fab Vince dress in action I took my Witchery dress (Find below) to the dressmaker to shorter the back.  The length variation is too much and I don't think it brings out the best in the dress so she will shorter then back to fall only aprox 2 inches lower than the front.

Your thoughts, suggestions etc all welcome and thank for taking a look.

xxx Deborah

Minimalist fabulousness, Deborah. This is a sensational outfit. I love how the lines echo and support each other. And this look is so true to your style. I hope you feel better soon. Happy Spring!!

There's just something so edgy about your style Deborah... you always leave me in awe of your WIWs! You look fantastic and so modern chic - looooove it!
Those boots though... omg so gorgeous!

    Hope you feel better soon!

I love how you've styled the dress here. The proportions and the layers work perfectly, and the shoes provide just enough structure to really make the look pop.

Can't wait to see the other dress when you get it back!

Lovely lines on this dress, very elegant, soft edge maybe??

Hope you feel better soon - I had a spring cold last week and it was rather lingering.  Very annoying indeed!

Your spring outfit looks fabulous on you and the shape does resemble the lantern dress. I love the bag in your outfit.

Ultimate Deborah! Love the backpack too. I admire how you find Aussie substitutes for NA designs you admire.

Love the dress, Deb. Its got a lovely cut and fit with lots of artsy drape. The backpack looks amazing and 'just perfect' with this ensemble.

    Hope you feel better soon!

I really like the lines of this dress and vest on you. (I'm a fan of the lantern shape, too.) They look great with your booties and backpack, and the touches of bare skin make for a spring-y look.

Your plan for the Witchery dress sounds terrific. Great idea!

Love your version of the EF dress shown in nr 2. Does yours have longer sides, too? Or is it the fab drape on side hems of the vest on top of it? Anyway, you are so creative with all these layeringselish to my eyes! Shortening back of the other dress makes sense to me, let's see it after the altering:-).

Hope you'll get well soon-take time to heal:-)

I like your dress better than the EF one. Hope you feel better soon.

Wow! You are sooo cool and edgy in this look Deb. The proportions, layers and that bag are so fab.

    Get well soon.

I love this! Close to your style roots, which is always fantastic. I hope you feel better soon. :)

It looks fantastic and I love your backpack!

I'm pleased to hear that you are getting some warmer days now, but sorry that you're getting a bug. :(

    Get better soon.

    Thanks so much!

Shevia, I'm often tempted to order from the U.S. butch really prefer to buy locally;).

Lyn, it's the dress that dips at the sides and the vest follows the same line;) I haven't worn the vest in ages, and it survived my most recent purge purely because it's a beautiful merino wool and was too good to move on ;)

Hope you feel better soon! And hurrah for spring! Lovely outfit, and what a great idea to alter the dress.

Deb, great outfit.  Your styling makes it look much better than on the model!

Great backpack!  My Aimee Kestenberg black bag arrived this weekend and I am already totally in love with it.  I will be repeating it in other colors, like I am so wont to do with shoes that work/I love.  Thank you for starting that conversation last week!

I love this.  My eye is drawn to the exposed ankle against those higher dip front booties - really sexy!  Great structured backpack too.
