WIW : Is it a skirt or a top ;)

Hi Ladies,

Another couple of pics of my skirt but this time worn as a top.  I was a little skeptical but the fit is quite good and I liked the softness the draped panel added to a harder edge black look.

Jacket / Peter Morrissey
Top / Zippy Skirts
Skinny Pants / Katies
Boots / Aldi

What do you think?  I felt a little insecure wearing a strapless top but the band is quite firm and thankfully I did not fall victim to any wardrobe mulfunctions ;)

Thanks for looking
xxxDeborah

Oooh I so like this. It's the perfect travel item. It looks really fab as a top. Can't believe it is a skirt. Was it comfortable?

Gorgeous! I love things that can be worn different ways like this.

Sally for the most part yes. Psychologically wearing a strapless top creates a bit of stress but if the skirt is the right size/fit... all good.

I think you look fly as usual.

    So stylish! It looks super!

I'm pleased it stayed in place for you.

I really like it on you. It's fun and sweet. Are you comfortable wearing it on its own? This would be the deal breaker for me, if I wasn't. But from what I see, it looks splendid.

    Thanks Jane :)

Krish, no I wouldn't wear it on it's own.  But because it also offers such versatility as a skirt it's not a deal breaker :)

I like the way it looks.  I would never have known it was a skirt.  Great travel item.

I love versatile pieces like this.  You look wonderful as always, Deb.

Great outfit Deborah...there's a Canadian brand called Sympli that has pieces that can be worn multiple ways...v versatile and great for traveling (as others have already mentioned).

I hear what you say about feeling a little wary and unable to relax, I know I'd feel the same. But the skirt-top (is that a skop?) certainly looks fantastic in this outfit! As others have said, it would be a wonderfully versatile travel item -- fab for occasional use as a dining out top. Nice to see this skirt's multiple renditions.

Very cleaver to wear the skirt as a top. I think it looks great. I rather like the way the band cuts straight across.

I really like it with the jacket.

    Creative "strapless top". Nicely done.

Positively stunning Deb. This piece is going to be brilliant in your wardrobe.

Thanks so much ladies:). I don't know how often I will wear this as a top but it's a nice option to have xx

I love the silver pendant. The strapless top fills me with projected anxiety but you do look great.

    Brilliant!

What Shevia said. I doubt any skirt-as-top would stay put on me, but this looks wonderful on you. No one would ever guess that your top was a skirt. I wonder if one as a top could be worn successfully with another worn as a skirt?

  • anne replied 7 years ago

It looks great Deborah, and you'd never guess!

What???? Is "that" skirt a top now??? Fainted! Then... looking again...wow, looks really good, how cool is that skirt!:-))

Heading to my closet to try this out.  I love how you think out of the box!
