WIW : Grey Out!

Hi Lovely Ladies,

We enjoying a long weekend of genuine Spring weather:) 27 degrees today and I decided to continue with my all grey oufit lab:)

I confess not too much thought went into this as I realised I was going to be late for the hairdresser if I didn't get dressed and out of the house quickly lol. I really just went with my gut and layered ;)

Skirt : Kondo Tricot (silk)
Sweater : Suzanne Grae
Shoes : Fiona McGuiness

I received quite a few compliments which was nice :) I *think* the tones worked well together but am keen to know what you think.

Interestingly, I went to put on my black open toe ankle boots but felt it kind of looked 'done' i.e. I might be over them "yikes" and decided I preferred the lighter look of the shoe.

Also had a cut and colour today. #2 is pre appointment and #3/4 is after. A bit shorter and with more of a fringe (bangs?) but in at the front. I tend to style it better myself but you get the idea.

BTW, I picked up my skirted leggings (#5) today... so excited and will show them to you as soon as I can :)

Thanks for looking and your thoughts.

xxx Deborah

I love this - your skirt reminds me of Angie's silk harem pants a real classic piece.  The shoes work perfectly with this look.

Gorgeous! The greys all look of similar tone to me and the texture and shine is fab.

You wore this to the hairdresser? That is a seriously glam outfit for a trip to the hairdresser. I think the greys all work together really well and that skirt is divine on you.

The greys look a wonderful match to me and I think you wore the right footwear too, The Suzanne Grae sweater is lovely, and the silk skirt is very elegant.

    Nice hairdo too!

Wow, this is a look too good for the hairdresser:-), please repeat it any other  time, including dressier! I love love love the greys on you, but this is not your common grey at all! There are metalics and shine, and texture! Pleats, and drape. different weights, and a fab  layering! You did it again! WOW!!!!

ETA: is that really a skirt?  OMG!

And, pls. excuse me. It was the first time, I didn't mention your hair-but it  looks like an edgy cut, and l looks great!

Brooklyn I like to dress 'nicely' for the hairdresser as it seems to help enhance the final result! I went for more of a classic long pixie today and wanted to make sure I was wearing a flattering neckline and tone to see how it was working .. Does that make sense?

  • Brooklyn replied 8 years ago

Yes, it does. Your hair looks great too.

Honestly? This might be my favorite outfit of yours ever. That skirt is divine.

I LOVE this outfit.  The shine and texture of the sweater against that beautiful pleated silk skirt (is it a skirt?  is it harem pants?  Whatever it is words do not describe that incredible piece).  Amazing outfit and it suits you to a "T"!

Beautiful outfit and fabulous hair, Deborah! I love the greys on you  and the textural interest and sheen of the outfit.

  • Angie replied 8 years ago

I LOVE THIS SHINY OUTFIT. You shine right long with it, Debs. Very avant-garde.

Killer to the power of KILLER.

Have you thought about taking your pics outside? Light is much better.

Deborah - you are an inspiration!  I love this.  You look like a piece of art!

That top is fantastic. You look marvelous!

  • BethT replied 8 years ago

Wow! Love, love, love the deep, rich greys!  Beautiful against your skin tone.

The lip color is spot on, too!

  • Deborah replied 8 years ago

Thank you for your kind comments;). I'm quite excited because I really liked this outfit and your approval on this tonal combo means it will be repeated;).

Angie, Now that Winter is over I will be looking for an outdoor photo spot. During Winter it's too hard:) and I often snap pics quickly before I head out so messing around outside can be too time consuming.

I always find that presenting myself with my best style foot forward helps my stylist give me the best cut!  Well done!  Another shout out for shiny and textured tonalism!  The shoes were a great choice, too!

Grey is a great choice for sophisticated summer looks!

Hah Angie stole my words, love this shiny outfit :D Quite like the lighter shoe with the look, it feels more intentional than black would -- More like a full grey-out. VERY cool outfit. Hair looks great!

  • catgirl replied 8 years ago

Count me in as a fan - all the reflectiveness combined with the tonal grey makes this a winner in every way!
