WIW : For Pre Marriage Counselling:)

Happy Weekend!

Some of you will know that DH is a Pastor.  We are currently doing pre marriage counselling with a lovely young couple who are getting married in April.

Lunch at our place followed by some discussion, and another hot day.  It is also humid - February seems to the humid season here - and my hair is not happy lol.

Needed comfort but too hot for pants.

Jersey Skirt - Kmart (quite a find, the fabric is actually lovely)
Jersey Top - Rockmans
Flip Flops - Myer

It has been a really busy week and we have an engagement dinner to attend tonight.  I think the only way I will survive today is by heading off now for a nana nap!!

How are the proportions on this?  Hope my lily white legs don't scare anyone.

xxx Deborah

Ooh! Great grecian goddess dress. It looks great on you. (Out of curiosity, do you both do the marriage counselling? What kinds of things do you tell them about? I didn't know premarital counselling was still a thing).

  • Deborah replied 9 years ago

Aziraphale, it is still very encouraged in the church:). And yes we do it together. The idea is to really encourage conversation and consideration of things that the couple may not have considered. It can highlight areas that are pretty to significant to living life together that the couple may not have ever thought about.

    Very smart.

Haha. I was gonna say, isn't it a little late for premarriage counseling? Haha. Missed that one for a moment.

Love the sandals.  Love lily white legs.  I am amazed at people who scorn bad habits who still tan or pretend to tan.  Okay rant is over.

    You look awesome as always.

Style Fan, I am a supporter of pale skin and never sun bake;). We have been exposed to a very strong sun smart message here in Australia for a very long time x

Gorgeous outfit. The draping is very elegant.
I don't think I'd be able to keep up with you! I'd need nana naps all the time.

Beautiful. Great and interesting lines. I have already one to expect that in your posts.

You look elegant as always...I am sure the bride to be noticed your style and promised herself to always look as chic...

I think I will take hot and humid gladly now - it is snowing and -10C here right now - brrr!
This looks like a dress and this is what I thought it is. Very cool and very you!
Your white legs bookend your hair! :-)

The lines of your outfit are gorgeously dramatic. Simple but comfortable. Hope you got your nap, you sound like you are super busy :)

Very pretty, Deborah.  The top and skirt work so well together I actually thought it was a dress!  I can't even imagine you with tanned skin - which is to be commended.  Your skin is great, and you are a smart woman for having resisted the sun, especially living where you do.

Still dizzy from the fact that you could find such an amazing Helmut Lang-ish skirt from Kmart!  :-o   YLF.

You looked Fab Deborah, and Hubby and I drove past the church where we did our PMC many years ago the other day.
DH reminded me about the part where I wrote-down that I should be able to spend any amount I liked without discussing it together first- I must have been thinking about fashion even then.. :) :)

  • Thistle replied 9 years ago

Wow, Kmart?!? That is a true find. Leave no retail stone unturned :). Grecian goddess in black is what I think :)

  • Caro in Oz replied 9 years ago

    Fantastic :) Keep cool.

I really like the asymmetry, Deborah and the sharpness of the skirt looks great with the drape of the top. Hubby and I did a pre-marriage weekend residential course with a group of other engaged couples. Unfortunately, two of the participants decided they preferred each other to their fiancees and left together. Awkward!

  • Deborah replied 9 years ago

Sharon what a story!  Maybe that's why we do it with one couple only lol.

Denise, the skirt was a find.  It was the only one and I have not seen anything similar since.  Also the fabric is a cut above their norm:)

  • Jaime replied 9 years ago

Oh Sharon that is funny! Deborah pre-marriage counseling is the norm with religious couples here, and since the rabbis have a lock on the marriage business I believe everyone must go to at least one session.
Apart from that, you look fab - bring on the tan free legs!
